It is a girl called Eira. That is pronounced Eye- ra and as tec will know means snow in Welsh. They are thinking of having Skye for the middle name. That means cloud apparently,so the poor soul would be named after a snow cloud.

She has a very unusual last name which no one could spell and they have given her a first name which no one will be able to spell or pronounce either,so the poor child will spend her life banging her head on the wall

OK, so Christmas

When we come back up from the palace on the 19th, Eve is going to come back on the train with us, while her parents drive up in the car.

They will stay here until Christmas Eve when we will all drive to Manchester where we will book into an aparthotel. My son and his girlfriend and Eves other grandparents are coming as well,so there will be eight adults and two children. We have booked a meal in a hotel for Christmas lunch. On Boxing Day we will come home bringing our son and his girlfriend with us. Eve, Esme and her parents will go back to her other grandparents house on the Wirral for a few days.

We chose two apartments rather than a hotel because having the lounges we can all get together and till be somewhere for Eve to play. if we were in a hotel, it would be difficult once she went to sleep because someone would have to sit in the room with her

My sister hasn't come home yet, she is still up in Leeds with her daughter who had a baby on the 19th, it was a caesarian, so she has needed help

We had a very busy day. At one time there were people from four different agencies in the lounge all at once. It was a little overwhelming really, and the poor Duchess was confused, as was I.

There an Occupational Therapist here, ladies who are setting up a cleaning service for two hours a week, a man came to fit a key safe on the front door, another lady from Social Services.

We are to have hand rails fitted to the steps at front and back doors. Gadgets arrived to make life easier indoors.
We more or less sat back and let them all get on with it :-)

Are you all spending Christmas together? We are spending the day at our daughter's house. SIL does a lovely roast pork with perfect crackling so we're looking forward to that :-D

I will try to remember to take one. There is usually a drinks do for all the contributors before it opens to the public. I have never been able to go and won't do this year because it is on Friday night and we will be in Oxford seeing our son for the weekend

We were the first people to put ours up. It isn't finished, but is well on the way. It doesn't need to be done until the end of the week but the person I am doing it with has a lot of commitments this week, so we needed to get in early. Nothing much for the morning Sue, but we are going to the church to set up our Christmas display this afternoon. That will take a long time because there is lots to put together

We sure did Linda. The office is now neat and tidy :-) It's in a quiet area away from the waiting rooms so our members can have a quiet cuppa and chat.
