Welcome back, Tec :-D :-D

Hello Everyone,

We are home, and I cannot say how good it is to be here.

The last few weeks have been hell for both of us, but the Duchess is much better, and her chest infection has gone, leaving her with a loose cough, that the doctor said will soon clear.

I am delighted to say that I can walk again, albeit very slowly with the aid of the zimmer. I did manage to get as far as the kitchen without it this evening.
We have some help coming in next week, so should manage.
So - things are on the up and up, lets hope it stays that way.

Hello Allan - our weather is so changeable at the moment. Lots of thunderstorms. I did read about the poor surfer :-(

How nice that Tec's daughter is there to settle them at home. I would imagine that they will both need an early night.

Amanda - the ATM at our local shopping centre was targeted earlier this year. Thankfully we didn't lose any money as we rarely use ATM's.

Hello Allan, yes they are home.Their daughter is there as well. He said that he would try and get onto the thread tonight, but maybe he is too tired.

Sue there's a cyclone alert for the north of the state, although at the moment it is only a category one storm.

Down here in the SW it is still very breezy which is at least keeping the temperatures down.

On the downside, a shark killed a surfer just off the Gracetown coast yesterday. Gracetown is just north of Margaret River and is, usually, a lovely spot well liked by surfers

Yes , she is relieved . Her next hurdle will be renewing her insurance , which she can't do until she gets a new debit card from her bank . It seems that a lot of folk here had their cards cloned at the machine over the road !! She was one of the unlucky ones but all is not lost as the bank will pay her money back . I'm glad I haven't used the " hole in the wall " for months .

I wonder if OH recorded the Dr Who programme ?

My Mum banned us from watching Dr Who as I got the screaming abdabs when the cybermen first appeared and my brother kept banging his head on the sofa .

A bit of news regarding my daughter and the car that failed the MOT . She had decided to put it up on EBAY as needing attention / possiable spares MOT failure . A chap came and looked at it yesterday , he is in fact a mechanic . She told him about the MOT fail , the brake servo needing replaceing and that the garage she took it to ( ACE ) for MOT quoteing £600 to do the work . He , being a very kind , honest chap looked the car over and said he didn't think anything was wrong with it !! He arranged for her to take it to his friends garage , said friend gave it a proper once over , and declared it perfectly okay ( he even did a couple of little jobs , all free of charge ! ) , the man had previously worked at the offending garage but had left two years ago to set up his own buisness .
She took it back to " Ace " , who , more or less laughed about it and passed the car no problem .

Well Strictly is just about finished and next is the Doctor Who 50th show. i hope I won't be too scared :-(

Just breezing through on my way to bed to finish my book. Came in earlier and nobody was here. Oh well, hope you are all well and happy. Tec and Duchess - I hope you are home by now? If so, - take it easy! Thinking of you a lot

Sue - more heavy rain in the inner suburbs here, but one shower only for us with warm brilliant sunshine before and after. Forecast is for rain all week, but I'll bet we don't see much of it here. ...and yes, I still have to water my pots!!

Allan - how's the weather in the west of our beautiful country :-D

Linda - our garden is starting to look a little tidier. OH decided to buy a big bowl of mixed lettuce which will sit in the sun outside the kitchen door. They were good value in the garden centre - we just pick the leaves we want over the next 8 to 10 weeks. I did buy a pot :-\
