I believe the T****s carparks use an automatic No recognition cameras.

The one I use allows free parking for 3 hrs. But if you over stay your time you'll get a £70 fine. There's two cameras mounted at the entrance to the carpark. One that photos your plate on the way in & one on the way out.

I assume the two are then compared by computer & those flagged up for over staying are fined. I don't know if a person checks those flagged up or if the computer just automatically sends out the fines to them.

Steve.

Julia doesn't that just demonstrate just how ridiculous guidelines are, laws should be introduced and enforced.

One of our ambulances parks in a lay by mid way between two towns. I have to say though that they have always got to me very quickly too,

sueM - on Saturday night when I had to call the paramedic, I remarked that he was pretty quick, and was he parked at the local hospital waiting for a call. No he was on the car park of T****, but he didn't like parking there, because he had picked up six tickets in the past. I could not believe this.

Have been doing a bit of investigating this morning, found this campaign group

http://www.baywatchcampaign.org/

they have invited people to send photos of cars abusing the disabled parking bays.

Next stop is for me to phone local police for advice on privacy laws.

Have just spoken with a lovely PC. He states that our local officers are aware of the situation in the town and they ARE in control of our traffic warden, some aren't.

Although it is not a prosecutable offence to abuse the disabled bays the council can fine the driver.

Designated officials can take photographic evidence but he thinks a civvy doing so will contravene the DP act even if we blank the number plate.

He tried to transfer me to the officer I needed to speak with but his line was engaged.

When I mentioned the flyers and especially the part about, please ignore this if you are blind, he couldn't speak for laughing....

I'll update when I have spoken with the next department.
