I only went into the small town soit was not too bad. However at the weekend we have got to go in Xmas shopping to Stevenage or Bedford OH JOY :-| :-| :-|. I bet they will be very crowded.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Dec 2012 16:23

Sounds as if we have been lucky with the crowds, so far. Only one more gift to get, and can probably do the quick dash in and out for that at Sains. Its the food shopping I dread even though we already have a fair amount in the freezer. :-0

In the meantime, I have my fingers crossed that I've managed the credit card statement dates - why goodness only knows - most is coming out of savings anyway!

Hope your white stuff has gone now LG - ours went within a couple of hours yesterday. Mind you, its a bit parky out there!!!

Since you are tied up with Office work, this may be relevant. The accountant said I owed HMCR, but I hadn't received a demand which as you know has to be paid 31 Jan. On phoning him, he says they are late sending them out with the possibility that those who owe will get the demand close to the deadline. Something for you to follow up if applicable?? There is an online link to transfer money so no need to raise cheques.

Hope you are improving YG. Any comments about being in a fight from your tradesman?? ;-)

HMRC have not sent us our payment slip for bank yet. The money is better in my pocket than theirs anyway ;-) :-D :-D.I got the email and will deal with it a bit later when I am downstairs. I am still in the office sorting out. A whole black bag full of rubbish so far and another of stuff to dispose of securely.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 6 Dec 2012 17:16

Thanks LG ;-)

If you don't get a payment slip by early Jan, it might be best to give the accountant a ring. I've made a note to myself to pay about the 20 Jan, on the same principle - my pocket, not theirs! Since I'm not operating as a business as such, I prefer to get the overs and unders sorted out when due....and not paid in advance. This is is the first time that I've owed them for about 3 years. Flipin' money pit :-|

LaGooner Report 6 Dec 2012 17:19

I object to paying it but hey ho needs must when the devil drives :-D. Off downstairs in a minute as I have had enough of this lot :-|

Christmas Crackers - check
Table cloth and serviettes - Argh!!!

Good morning from a grey SE. At least it wasn't frosty this morning.

I've got a couple more cards to write, then I'm done, although I'm not sure when they will go in the post. OH plans to start on the landing ceiling today and wants someone around in case he falls off the scaffolding plank. :-0

Ah beat you DET mine were all posted off today :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.

Just got one or two more to do for local family which are delivered by hand and whoopie, clear conscience :-D :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 7 Dec 2012 18:23

Stop bragging, you two :-D :-D Mine are back up in the loft!! They did come down with the tree decorations, but I have had to put everything back up there to make some room to move other stuff around.

The council have finished their work and signed it off this morning. The private joiner is over-running and has to come back on Monday, but it is his own fault as he likes late starts and early finished. Youngsters have no staying power :-D :-D

The decorator started in the lounge and hall today, so I am sitting here with no curtains and dust sheets everywhere. :-D :-D

I need something quick and easy for tea as I am totally knac***ed tonight :-( :-(

Aw – poor YG. You’ve every right to be tired after chasing around after all those ‘fit’ visitors. You’re on the home stretch now!

Cards went in the post this afternoon, so Ner :-P :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Dec 2012 10:00

Morning all - it would seem that everyone is on the wind up to Christmas.

Goodness knows when we'll get the decorations up; we can only just about squeeze ourselves passed the ladders on the stairs, let alone manouvre boxes of decorations by them!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 8 Dec 2012 10:03

Morning one and all to a bright and chilly Bedfordshire. Decs are still in the loft and staying there until at least next weekend.

BAH HUMBUG :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Dec 2012 10:12

Morning LG.
That's usually when we put ours up as well - PC wanted them up earlier, but won't be around until then to help anyway.

Even though the decorating probably won't be finished, with a bit of luck the ladders will be down. OH had said he wanted us to steam clean the living room carpet before Christmas. Hmm.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 8 Dec 2012 10:15

:-D :-D. Det, the carpet is one problem less for me now as we have wooden laminate and rugs right through downstairs. Much more practical with my grubby lot ;-). Went over H's yesterday and cleaned all hers though :-(.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Dec 2012 10:32

You don't see the fluff and hairs on carpets :-D

H is a very lucky lady to have a mum like you...unless they were ill, you wouldn't catch me doing the offsprings HW!!!! :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 8 Dec 2012 10:34

It is the only housework job I do for both H and mys son K. They are hopeless with my shampooer and I don't want them B*******g it up :-D. It is quite and old one and very temperemantal like me ;-)
