That's good to hear (that OH enjoyed spending time with the littlies). He probably doesn't see them as much as you & they need a male figure to look up to ;-)

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2012 09:53

He does not see as much of them as I do so yesterday I left him to it while I got on with a few chores, by the noise I would say they all had a great time. ;-).

Yidarmylass has just been in and would like me wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

I have just decided I do not like the tinsel I put on the tree so I am going to swap it for some different, just like me to change my mind ;-)

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Dec 2012 10:19

Happy Christmas to Yidarmylass!
We ought to arrange to meet up in the New Year if she is feeling up to it.

If you're changing the tinsel, does that mean you've got to take all the baubles off :-0
PC used beads this year. It isn't as 'sparkley' as the years we've used tinsel. Never mind, she enjoyed doing it!

I wonder if OH is prepared to put up the outside lights today, aka Blackpool Illuminations? They're only a string of fairy lights, so not too garish. We're very 'raifined' in this road, although fewer households bother now. Lights busted, or trying to cut back on the electricity?

Hello David, nice to meet you. I've had a lot of crazy times with all on this thread, and its predecessor 'thread killers united'. The night of snail racing was one of my particular favourites of online daftness!

A very brief update to everyone - granddaughter no. 2 was born in August this year, the eldest one is now three years old - 3 going on 60, you know how things are with little ones!

I have just found out that I am being made redundant in March (after 28 years in post) At least I will be able to help out when my daughter goes back to work after maternity leave :-)

Congratulations CT.another one on the Xmas list :-D :-D :-D.

DET a meet up sounds good to me and so does another snail race as CT reminds me about. My word that was fun.

CT - After 28 years in service, you ought to get a reasonable payout. It will buy you some time if you intend looking for something else.

LG - pick a day in Feb as a start off and let see where it goes.

Outside lights up........ and down........and up again. Lets hope they don't fall down again overnight or else the milkman may have a nasty shock when he delivers in the early hours.

Evening Ann, welcome and Merry Xmas to you too.

Happy birthday Tadpole.

I'll get back to you on a date DET. and we will see what we can arrange.

Sitting here in the office wrapping some pressies, my lad has just been and collected my Xmas meat order so that's one less thing to think about :-D

YG Report 17 Dec 2012 20:01

Evening everyone.

Welcome Ann and wishing you a very happy Christmas too.

Congratulations CT on becoming a grandma again. How luck you are :-) :-)

A snail race sounds good to me. About time we had some fun on here again.

Is the meet open to any of us oop norf!! It would be good to see you both again and I have time to take off between January and the end of March.

I'm pleased to say that half of the lounge is now wallpapered and will be finished tomorrow. Only the hall left to do on Wednesday, They are also starting to fit the new doors tomorrow so I will be despatching 'Bah Humbug' to 2013 and getting into the seasonal spirit!! ((not the bottled variety, just in case you assume the worst) :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2012 20:19

Evening YG, the more the merrier for a meet. I have ditched Bah humbug too as yesterday I was serenaded with Xmas songs by the Mini Gooners

YG

YG Report 17 Dec 2012 20:34

Oh that must have been very sweet listening to them. :-) :-)

I am hoping to get the tree up on Wednesday evening when the decorator has finished, He has already done the side of the room where the tree is going, but I don't want to cause any obstructions for him with the trestle table!

My line manager has bought me a lovely arrangement of plants in a wicker basket to cheer me up after the episode with the doors. It is lovely and I am really pleased with it. I still haven't received the keys back from the idiot who was here doing the doors so that is a bit of a concern. If I haven't received them by the end of the week, I will arrange to have the locks changed in the New Year :-( :-( :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2012 20:40

The lounge is all sorted I have got the hallway to deck out yet. Outside lights are all up and running . I have blue flashing ones and from the raod it must look like a police car ;-). Might put the wind up a couple of our local villans ;-) :-D :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 17 Dec 2012 20:50

Ooh you naughty girl!!

I bought a new set of lights for the tree and forgot that I had bought some last year!! I don't somehow think I will get them all on!! :-D :-D

I would like one strip of lights outside, but don't have an external power socket and don't fancy the window open all Christmas, so I'm stuffed!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2012 20:58

We are lucky in that I have outdoor socket for the pond equipment and the lawn mower. I have just thrown out one set of lights we bought about 25 years ago. They don't make em like that anymore ;-)

YG

YG Report 17 Dec 2012 21:19

You're not kidding! It is very difficult to get replacement bulbs now, so I have bought two LED sets. I've never kept any as long as that though, so well done!! :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2012 21:24

They surprised us as we bought them when it was H's 1st Xmas and they have been used every year since. They came from one of the cheap Christmas shops for just a couple of pounds. We have certainly had our moneys worth out of them

YG

YG Report 17 Dec 2012 21:50
