I had no idea that cats liked cake until today!! He's laying here now looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth!! He is also getting very vocal and making his demands heard :-D :-D

Fuzzy is quite fussy as to the brand though. She will only either eat home made or the one we buy from the cash and carry :-D. She is also very fussy over cheese she will only eat the best quality extra mature cheddar.

And I thought I spoiled mine :-D :-D :-D

I think they eat better than we do :-)

My dil bought me a lovely china Christmas mug with pussy kittens on it. It's really cute. Shame I can only really use it during my favourite (not) season :-D :-D

I think the word needs to be banned again until 1st December 2013, although after this year, I think it will be a whole lot easier for the next one :-D :-D

I fully agree the word is now banned from this house. We don't want a repeat of this one either it has been awful. Same with 2012 ,good riddance to it and a hope for better next year.

i agree with you there, LG. I am a little superstitious about '13', but hopefully I will get through it unharmed!! It can't be any worse than this year, particularly the last month. I know there are going to be major changes at work but I have been told that our section is safe (actually increasing in size because of workload), but I could lose my very dear friend to redundancy, so that could be a sour note.

I am not a New Year fan at all, but can't usually resist getting out of bed to watch the fireworks!!

I think a lot of people have felt the same about Christmas this year. Everybody that I have spoken to has said they didn't feel the mood of the season and certainly there is a distinct lack of external decorations on the houses around here compared to previous years, so perhaps everyone has pulled their belts in a couple of notches :-( :-(

Same around here YG. We made the most of it for the little ones but our hearts were not in it at ALL.

Me neither. It has been a real struggle to get everything done in time and I have worn myself to a shadow doing it. I'm just starting to feel more like my old self.

I am looking forward to spring and hopefully some sunshine :-D :-D

OH was saying that it didn't feel like Christmas. We also noticed the lack of external house lights in the locality. You're probably right about economy, or else they've moved or the decorations were worn out and not replaced.
He thought that there wasn't the 'buzz' when we've been out shopping - food aside, lots of people looking, but short queues at the tills. It's possible that many have used the internet instead.

Our year has been reasonable, the highlight being PC's Graduation. Apart from her Noro virus episode, we and the rest of the family have been healthy. BM bought his first home, Sister in law downsized, we've had at least one extended get-together (not that we had to cater!) had a relaxing holiday even if it did rain for 3 days, and Eldest's OH landed a new, better paid job.
All in all, no disasters worth mentioning, mainly positive things happening.

If there was one thing to wish for, it would be for PC to find a better job that she enjoys.

I think you are right about the internet for shopping. I haven't ventured into town at all to do any of mine. It is a first for me and it was quick and convenient. The only down side was all the cardboard packaging!! Having said that, I missed the buzz of going to the mall, but time didn't allow this year. Hopefully next year I will be much better organised with no work being done just before the season starts and I will have time to browse :-)

It is nice to see a dry bright day today, so the washer is on!! I need to go to the tip and call at the outlet to get a replacement bulb for the new light fitting (one was faulty!) I think then I might relax for the remainder of the day and watch a couple of dvds with my feet up and keeping all traces of cake away from fur!!

Well, I think I will move into the throne room right now and claim rights to the title :-) :-) :-)

Now then, I wonder where LG has hidden that rust infected crown and the threadbare robes :-D :-D
