I didn't sit and watch the dvds that I promised myself I would do!! I had to return some power adaptors to PC World and it is at the other side of town, so I have had a bit of a runaround this afternoon!!

Just waiting for the beef to finish roasting, then I am going to put my feet up and watch tv.

New Year's Eve could be pricey for a taxi, Maz. I hope you are travelling back well before the revelers are wanting taxis. Just take care.

Good afternoon everyone. We had to take some things back to M&S this morning, then had lunch at the golf club today, it was funny watching the more hardy golfers play whilst it was pouring, and I mean pouring with rain. :-D :-D

YG Report 30 Dec 2012 19:14

Hello Paula. You are certainly getting out and about :-D Enjoy yourself, whatever you do. :-D

Please keep the rain there, as it has been a lovely day here, albeit a little breezy. At least I managed to get the washing dry :-)

Thank you YG, its that time of the year :-D

We have a very very fussy cat Katie, she will only eat one brand of cat food, never eats scraps we try to tempt her with, but just lately she has taken a fancy for roast lamb, and come into the kitchen and stands by OH when he carves the joint.

YG Report 30 Dec 2012 20:50

My cat is rather fussy, Pauline. I am more used to having dogs and they tend to eat more or less anything, so it has been hard adjusting to a cat's ways :-D Two of them adopted me when I moved into the property. They used to live round the corner, but as they have an alsation I think the cats preferred to move out. One of them died earlier this year, but I still have the ginger male who is a real sweetie. I can't have another dog as I work full time and it wouldn't be fair to leave it all day. The cat is quite old and sleeps a lot of the time and has the added bonus of not needing to be taken for a walk in the pouring rain :-D

Hello all you cat lovers....we have been rescuing DOGS and cats for many years..at the moment we have four cats....and they write us "Poems"...:-

I lick your nose
I lick your nose again
I drag my claws down your eyelids
Oh!! you're awake!
FEED ME........

Derek.

I cleaned the floor
With your sweater back and forth
I cleared the table
with a few whips of my tail
I dusted your shelves
of all the knickknacks you kept
and made you bed
smell a bit more like me.
I'm here to help
I want to do my part..
after all.we're all in this together..

Oh Please!!
Oh come on!!
Oh..like you didn't already know
what you were getting for Christmas
before i ripped open all your presents!
Oh by the way...
The tree looks better on its side
Oh i really do thnk so.

Morning all, took time out yesterday to completely chill. This year has taken it's toll for both of us and to be brutally honest we shall be glad to see the back of it. But hey ho one way of looking at it is this year can only be better ;-) :-D.

Derek, you know cats well then :-D :-D :-D :-D.

I can't see any damage here either Maz so fingers crossed. Did have a power cut during the night though. The blooomin phone woke me because it bleeps loudly when the power goes off and comes on again :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Good morning all – well done getting the washing dry outside YG. Now you have the dreaded ironing to do. Give yourself a break before you tackle the bathroom. It isn’t going anywhere!

A lunch at the Golf Club is one up on our shopping day lunches at Sainsbury’s. Our Eldest rolls her eyes when we mention that as she thinks it’s a sign of old age.

Although it was rainy and windy overnight, we didn’t have a power cut. OH refixed the down pipe yesterday which seems to have held. We do have 2 broken tiles which we’ll have to get fixed. I can’t understand how that has happened. No one has been on that section of the roof since the house was built. Haven’t checked if they have lifted. I hope they haven’t!

If Cats are really like the ones in Derek’s poems, I’m glad we have never had one! Given the choice, I’d have a dog anyway.

YG Report 31 Dec 2012 11:56

Good morning everyone.

Loved the cat poems, Derek and mine does spend a lot of time sleeping :-D :-D

I must confess to being a dog lover out of preference, but cannot have one at the moment and this little bundle of fur does give me a lot of pleasure, other than waking me early sometimes. He is old, so doesn't charge around jumping on worktops or climbing the curtains, and as he adopted me, rather than the other way round, I can put up with his odd ways in his twilight years. :-) :-)

I'm just starting the ironing, DET but don't know whether I will get it all done. A friend is visiting at some point today, so that will be an excuse for a sit down!

The bathroom is definitely going to wait!! I don't feel like tackling anything for a few weeks and I have six doors to undercoat and top coat plus the associated bits of filling round the new hinges to do before I can consider anything else :-( :-(

Morning, just loading my ironing into the catapult for you YG. ;-).

I too would love a dog but I could not walk one with my knee problems so I share Yidarmylass' :-D. She walks him I spoil him cos he is a gorgeous Collie.

Lunch at home for me today as OH is at work but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

YG

YG Report 31 Dec 2012 12:21

Boo, LG!!

No thank you to the ironing!! I hate doing it but needs must :-(

Homemade lunch for me too and a quiet day here tomorrow. I detest New Year celebrations and the only good thing is that the season is now done with apart from clearing up all the decorations. I can't wait to get back to normal with no spending :-D :-D

I am the New Year's equivalent of Scrooge :-D :-D

Derek

Derek Report 31 Dec 2012 12:31

We have two dogs, whom we chose to live with us.....and four cats that sort of arrived..........and they all get on fine in a condescending sort of way..as one cat says:-

Some of my best friends are dogs
We talk about dog things
Some of my cat friends don't get it
We laugh at their fear.
The dogs see me as one of their own.
True, they don't like it when I bark
or play dead
or chew their toys.Or sniff their bums.
But we're cool
Some of my best friends are dogs
I just thought you should know..........

To which I, a humanid sub-species have decided to reply!!

You arrived unwanted and uninvited
into our dog house
and took over MY house
my days and my nights...
But..your life expectancy
is 19 years and you've been here
16 of them and there were eight.
and now you're only four.
and you'll never know
What their fates were..
so WATCH IT...... cnfisde'pwdqpdqwqqdddf
and get off my bloody keyboard!

Happy new year everybody!!

Happy New Year Paula, and enjoy your evening :-)

Thank you for the NY e-card YG. The balloon popping can be quite addictive!

We've been sorting out furniture and crockery for tomorrow's Xmas Mark 2 bash. Oh, for a Baronial Hall (and the servants to go with it) to be able to seat everyone comfortably at the table!
