Morning all - the carpet is being fitted! You've never seen so much dust :-(

I thought they would phone to give 10 minutes warning, but no, I was marooned in the bathroom until he popped out to the van. Just as well OH was up and dressed for the occassion :-D

How horrible for those at risk to have to wait longer. On the upside, they aren't yet under notice.

Here's to a peaceful sleep Maz.

Good morning, It seems as though everyone is getting back into the swing of things and Christmas is far behind us. Lots of peculiar bugs going around and people having to come home from work , I hope that dreadful Norovirus stays well away from us all this year.

I am pleased to report I am now FREE after yesterdays lock in. OH arrived home and tried hard not to laugh at my escapade, but we both finally had a good giggle when I told him I had to answer the door through the open bedroom window. On the down side I dropped the lid of the Halogean oven into soapy water, and it fused all of the lights.

New day new start. Pollyanna is my middle name .

We are going to the ciinema this evening to see the Hobbit, OH's choice, I am not too sure about it. Have a good day everyone. :-D

Morning Paula - did he come home early just for you or were you stranded until the normal clocking off time? Hope you gave him an earful!!

Hope you can get a replacement lf easily, and that it's cheaper than a new oven.

We went to see the Hobbit before Christmas. As you say, OH's idea, not mine. It's nearly 3 hours long, so stock up nibbles before you go in! What annoyed me/us was the fast camera panning over the scenery, some it deliberately out of focus. Think travel sick and you get the idea. Goodness knows how they are going to stretch a thin paper back book into 3 films. OH has read it; I gave up.

Good morning DET, yes OH came home rearly just as I was switching electricity back on. The poor man just did not realise what he took on when we got together, he says I am too independent; but I just can't wait to get things done, so do them myself. I must learn how to become a "helpless female" but perhaps it's a little bit too late for me to do that now.

I have read the reviews for The Hobbit, most have said it was long winded slow and meandering, not my cup of tea at all. Hope you like the new carpet!

LG It sounds as though you are going through the same experience as my OH, the administration of his company'e redundancy is a shambles and a nightmare. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, and plans change on a daily basis. He was due to go last April, then April this year, now it looks like June. It is not too bad for OH he will retire in Feb 2014, but it is very stressful and worrying for his younger colleagues. Hope things get sorted for you..... Keep smiling :-D

Good afternoon Ann. I went in the garden yesterday for ten minutes, everywhere is still wet and muddy, but some little green shoots are starting to appear, a good sign Spring is on it's way.

Paula,I watched an earlier edition of The Hobbit some time back.
It was daft,in my opinion.
There was this bunch of guys looking like trolls all singing in harmony some silly song, but they all knew the words..

David

David Report 8 Jan 2013 17:50

Maybe I was daft cos I didn't know the words?

As long as you have a reading light to use with it, Paula!! Get on the back row, nobody will notice and you can reminisce about your youth :-D :-D

Hope you are pleased with the carpet, DET. Ooh, I love the smell of new carpets :-)

The festive season seems ages ago now (note that I haven't used the 'C' word. It is now banned until 1st December :-D :-D
