Evening Paula. Enjoy your shower.

LG, I am diddling ok, thank you. I've been busy sanding the bathroom cupboard walls and door frame, so I look like a snowman now and am in desperate need of a bath!!

How are you tonight? :-D

I'm just having a cuppa, then going for a bath!

The joiner is coming tomorrow to finish off the doors and fit the new bathroom cupboard doors. There is just the main bathroom door to do then, when his boss is back from his holidays. That's when the fun of painting them starts :-D :-D

I'm going to strip the paper off the bathroom walls over the next week and once I have got that finished there is only the front wall outside to paint. The remainder is brick, so that saves a lot of work :-D :-D

My goodness YG you put me to shame. I need to get on but I always find something more interesting to do ;-)

YG Report 8 Jan 2013 22:18

It's a case of needs must, LG. If the radiators hadn't been changed, the bathroom would have waited until they refit it next year, but now I have to do it as they have put the new radiator in a different place, leaving a large section of wall with no paper on!

I'm hoping that the walls be good enough to just emulsion, even if I have to sand them a little. I don't really want to waste money on paper to have it done again next year. That might happen yet with the lounge, depending whether they do a full rewire or not. The trouble is that it is all expense for me, as they only give you £50 towards decorating costs. It cost me over £40 today for two tins of emulsion and a small tub of wood filler, so it doesn't go far :-( :-(

I know, I was lucky with the last lot of paint as one of OH's friends is a decorator and I got it free. Not that I've used it yet :-D

YG Report 8 Jan 2013 22:33

The joiner has told me to go to the trade centre for the undercoat and satin for the doors and tell them that he has sent me. I will then get it at trade price, so that was very kind of him. I am going to tackle them a couple at a time until all six are done. By then the gardening season will be raising it's head again!! No rest for the wicked, LG!! :-D :-D

I'm off for my bath now, so I will catch you tomorrow, hopefully.

Sleep well and have a good day tomorrow <3 <3

That YG is always on the go - almost as bad as Maz! ;-)

Would lining paper work out cheaper if the plaster isn't up to scratch?

Despite good intentions after our early start, we've been really lazy today. We could do with a bit of your get-up-and-go.

The carpet smells lovely, and took the fitter nearly 4 hours to lay. It feels so different to the old one which we must have had down for about 20 years. That also was a cheap one and had done pretty well even if the underlay had perished! As there was a usable off-cut, someone from freecycle is going to collect it to turn into a rug for his flat.

We've a series of modulars and re-takes over the next 3 weeks starting tomorrow. Not as busy as the main summer session, but at least it will keep us on our toes.

~~~ to Barbra and David.
Good morning everyone. I have been up and at it steam cleaning since early this morning, Lounge and hall carpets cleaned lounge three piece suite, kitchen, sun room and utility floors all cleaned. Phew I am bushed. Now having my cup of green tea, and a sit down. I am at my keep fit class this afternoon. Something strange has happened to my GR page when I opened it, so if you can't read this it's their fault. Have a good day, hope to catch you later P :-D
+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Jan 2013 14:27
After all that steam cleaning, do you really need to go to an exercise class Paula? ;-)
If you do, may be I should join you to lose a bit of weight after giving myself a terrible shock this morning.
The 'smart' trousers I wear to work were a little 'snug' in December; putting them on this morning, they wouldn't even do up if I breathed in :-0
Not as bad as it may seem as on closer inspection, they were the 'old' smart trousers, a smaller size than the 'new' smart ones. Still not brilliant and may be a wake-up call? :-(
Sounds a bit like me DET. I am back on the sensible eating now so hopefully will get back on track with weight loss.
+++DetEcTive+++
+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Jan 2013 15:12
I thought I was eating sensibly - it's probably too much of it and virtually no exercise :-(
LaGooner
LaGooner Report 9 Jan 2013 15:16
That is one of my problems, too large portions of good healthy food, and no proper exercise off course.
