Morning all – seems I missed another ruck, darn it! People can take offence for the most peculiar of reasons and Paula always seems reasoned in her posts.
Shame about the Yoga class, but if the car park was virginal, then may be no one else had turned up?

Glad you made it safely into work yesterday YG. As long as you don’t have to go out of your way, and people fit in with *your* timing, you’re a good egg. Hope they remember the good turn you gave them if you need assistance in the future.

Is A any better today Maz? As you suggested that many of the schools would be closed, he might have had an easyish day. Are you working today? Take care travelling.

Only 340 out of over 1000 students attended school yesterday and most of absentees were from the urban areas who are coached in. PC said that the pavements in the town she was in were treacherous, so may be they were right not to attempt it. Mind you, I bet many of them didn’t think it was dangerous to go out and play or visit friends!
As the snow had covered the parking bay lines, the cars were parked further from each other than normal meaning I had to park in the boon docks in the afternoon. At least I had the correct footwear for trudging through it!

OH was terribly supportive when I got home and discovered I’d lost one of my new gloves, less than a month old. He dragged me out to the car and back down there to look for it….successfully as it happens, even if it had been run over by a bus!

GG – those airports…if you were referring to Heathrow, they said it was because the planes had to leave a greater distance between each other when landing, because of the visibility. Probably indicates why LHR needs a 3rd runway. Now of course, planes are in the wrong places.

Take care all.

Good morning everyone. I have just received a phone call from the school where I mentor on Tuesday mornings to say my two students are not in today, that is so kind of them to let me know and save me a wasted journey. I was just about to leave the house.

DET my posting was very thoughtfully written just stating how in my opnion some people dominated the boards. I pointed out what I enjoyed and when and why I made contibutions to the threads. I have had a number of PMs agreeing with my comments and questioning why it was RRd. The Original poster has removed the thread, which is a shame as it had some excellent comments. We are all have a right to our own opinion, just because someone does not agree with it should not give them the right to delete from someone elses thread. Singing "Oh happy days"
DET I am so glad you found your glove, my Mother used to say it brings you good luck to find a lost glove :-D

Have a good day everyone. :-D :-D :-D

Morning, I noticed the thread had gone, as you say Paula it is a shame that we cannot state our opinions freely.
Well done DET could you come and find the pair I have mislaid in the house :-S.

Sitting her prepping up the craft for tonight's Rainbow meeting. OH JOY :-P

Ah! The one started by aivlyS? Had a brief glance yesterday afternoon, but wasn't going to get involved in what might have ended up in targetting one particular poster.

Good of the School to save you a wasted journey, although they might have found you something else to do.

On the same topic of attendence, LG - have you let your little horrors know that there will be a meeting tonight? If few are going to be sent, it might not be worth the effort of dragging yourself out in the cold. :-0

Morning GG in the frozen north. You and yours are probably better equiped to cope than many of us :-D
As long as he doesn't over do it, shovelling seems a good way of keeping fit, and he will appreciate the warmth when he comes back indoors. You can tell him the bits he's missed from the safety of the front room :-D :-D

Must have missed that thread then Paula. Probably just as well that it's deleted.

Hiya Det, It's not too bad here actually so far, think you
down south have had it worse than us at the moment.
As you say we are used to this weather and OH has just
come back in saying he has had enough and puffed out.
Got to watch his old ticker :-)

Good morning GG.... Love the sound of your dog. My cat Katie, hates the snow, she is flat out sleeping at my feet and only moves to eat her food. She must go outside to do the bizzies but I have not seen her. I have just put some bread out for the birds as I can't get to the bird station.

You must get OH some thermals, I brought my OH some for Christmas, long sleeve vest, and long Johns, socks and gloves. He asked me last night where I got them from!!! he would like some more.

'Emma' Report 22 Jan 2013 10:51

Hi Paula.. Rory is off out, doesn't need any coaxing to go
out and as usual he has gone head first into the nearest
pile of snow, when he comes in he stands and waits till
OH dries him off, better looked after than me :-D :-D :-D

Cats are more relaxed than dogs, had some years ago and
soo superior to us humans and dogs :-)

OH has the thermals but (wait for it) they make him too warm!
So am going to get him a kilt for the winter :-D like to see him
moving snow in that :-D :-D

PollyinBrum Report 22 Jan 2013 11:06

GG OH went to work in his thermals and said he was too hot, but he was glad of them when he went to the football match on Saturday,he said whilst he was warm his sons and their friends were freezing. Last night when he came home from work he changed to go out and clear the snow, now he thinks they are the greatest, and proudly tells everyone what he is wearing.
