Not this one, you haven't! :-P

(couldn't let you get away with that after you'd dissed RUF)

LaGooner Report 3 Feb 2013 22:22

Not Dissed at all DET. to each their own. OH used to play Rugby for Bedfordshire and youngest son played for his school. Me I used to play football in the street ;-) :-D :-D

:-D

To be honest, if it weren't for the years of Sunday mornings standing on a touch line, or Saturday school matches, I couldn't be bothered with it either. But you've got to support your offspring, haven't you?

The after match beverage in the club house was most welcome, and worth turning out for ;-)

LaGooner Report 3 Feb 2013 22:31

I have only ever been to one of son's matches but many a time I have stood on a wet, cold muddy field watching the cubs and scouts teams which he used to play football for.

Good morning everyone.I lost interest in the France v Italy game yesterday and made a cake instead, I continued to hear it from the kitchen, but not inspired to watch. I will be a busy girl today. Dinner is in the slow cooker, and I am getting ready for my Yoga class, then taking some clothes to charity shop, and then going with DIL to the cinema. Phew I need a sit down already. It's bright and sunny here today, hope all is well with you.Have a good day. :-D

Good morning Paula and anyone else who is about. My word Paula you make me feel tired just thinking about that ;-). I am just having my late breakfast as I have stripped the bed and got that in the machine. Off to visit my recovering friend today to catch up on all of her news.

Morning all - What busy people you are. I'm still on coffee #2 ;-)

Is the film you wanted to see still on Paula? 3rd time lucky!

And Maz has seen sense at last - S* the h/w - well done, it will still be there tomorrow, if you have the energy. You mean that you don't know who your grandfather is? My goodness, I knew you had a convoluted family tree, but reallly. How careless :-D

Enjoy seeing your friend LG. She's sure to still be a bit tired but will appreciate the 'lift' of a fresh face.

Mind you don't get blown away GG - it sounds as if its going to be pretty windy in your part of the world, and you might, just might, get some of the white stuff.

OH feels he needs to get out, so we might do the dump run delayed from the other day, then go on somewhere for coffee and an almond croissant. Yum.

Good morning all, no snow yet a wee wind no doubt building its
self up to a gale at some point :-(
Beautiful blue sky, bitterly cold and an ice rink under foot :-|

Apart from that :-D I hope you are all well :-)
Have a good day and stay safe.

Emma :-)

Just got back from my visit. It was so good to see her and although she looks very tired she seems to be quite chirpy.

A bit breezy here too so going to put washing on the line in a minute and hope it drys.

LG I am pleased your friend is looking better, let us hope she continues to improve. We did not see the much awaited film Quartet as it finished on Friday. However, we saw The Impossible. It was a film based on a true story of a family caught up in the 2004 Asian Tsunami. It is not a film for the feint hearted but excellent portrayal of this tragic event, very graphic, with superb acting and extremely emotional. It is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we enjoyed it. If enjoyed is the right word. Catch you later.

Has Paula been on the bottle as well! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Pleased to hear that your friend is making a good recovery, LG.

Maz is learning ignore the dust while the workmen are in :-D :-D That's what I'm having to do whilst I am sanding, as there is a continual layer everywhere, no matter how often I wipe :-D :-D :-D

Almond croissants >>>>>>>> sinful, DET!! Shame on you :-P :-P I'm only jealous really :-D :-D :-D

A colleague and I had lunch out today (only at the local supermarket) but it made a change from cold sandwiches. I am still full so won't be cooking tonight. :-)

It looks as though it will be very interesting as part of the dig at the site was done by time team. It is all about the 1st Prison of war camp (Napoleonic) at Norman Cross.

YG

YG Report 4 Feb 2013 18:21

You are really into it, aren't you!! I haven't even heard of Norman Cross!! I never did like history at school, although I am interested in WW2.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 4 Feb 2013 18:43

I have always loved history. My number 2 favourite subject at school. Norman cross is quite near Peterbourough so may well be worth a future visit to Peterborough museum to see what they have in there

evening all lol ,ell this a quick peek in to see what you are doing My grandfather is guess work I know he was part of a house hold where my grandmother worked looking after their children there are various names in the book and letters .but as it was all hushed up and grandmother took it too her grave we have an address and a family name they are on the 1911,so i spent this morning following the family siblings to se where they ended up .1911 and 1924 is quite a gap in the great scheme of things so my next day off will be weds .after the cat has been to the vet .so it keep me occupied if its the unmentionable .
I am sat looking for medication for my course work lol
And excitement I have found a possible link to a fella who signed the death warrant of the king in the civil war ,one of my Stapley's though the link is broken slightly but the chap who i am in touch with has been doing it for years and seems almost certain lol .see you tomorrow .I am snowed under with cards and pressies here bless them they were all waiting for me when i came in so when i do the meds in the morning they will be asking if i have opened their cards lol
