Morning all - from 13 May to 26 June is the main Exam period! Half term 27 May - 2 Jun . As I know the further flung of you need to pre-book train tickets go ahead and arrange a day.
If it turns out to be an all-hands-on-deck session, I may have to pull out. Other days I can say that I'm not available to work. I'll email them to see if they have the schedule yet.

You're lucky to be able to fill your days and have planned retirement activites. It was OKish when I gave up work as I was able to throw myself into FH, but since OH did the same, we tend to get terribly stuck in the rut. He had his list of 'projects' he's worked through in the last couple of years, now completed We aren't very imaginative about trying new things. I've tried to get him interested in adding our names to the ARA groups, but he says that they are for the 'wrinklies'. He needs to look in a mirror! Both of us are rather quiet and neither have much imagination to think of cheap things to do out of the house. Oh dear - where did that come from? Cage rattling probably!

About a quarter of the living room was washed down yesterday. More to do today. We might get it finished on Monday, then we'll have to hire a carpet cleaner.

Signed - Mrs Grump

Good morning everyone. Oh what a beautiful morning! We are going to see OHs Step Mother to take flowers for her 87th birthday, she is a really lovely elegant lady, sadly she is slowly losing her sight, and not in the best of health generally. We will leave it till later this afternoon as we HAVE to have the mandatory (large) glass of sherry. Nice easy day, and cooking for the two of us today which is a nice treat for us. I hope all is well with you, and you manage to get out whilst the sun is shining.

Evening everyone.

I hope you had a lovely visit to your OH's stepmother today, Paula and kept to that one glass of sherry!! :-D :-D

LG, have you fallen asleep!! :-D :-D

I have done the washing, the shopping and a quick vacuum and dust, then I locked myself in the bathroom until I had finished all the sanding :-D :-D At least I know what I will look like when I finally go grey :-D :-D :-D (and it's not very appealing!!)

My arms and shoulders have had it now, so a quiet evening in front of the tv :-D

Good 'un, Maz. We'll take the lead from you then, avoiding the dates that DET is working.

Let me know what dates you can do and I'll see how I can fit in round them.

Evening all, yes YG I did nod off after tea :-D. We had one of those days that if it could go wrong it went wrong. I shan't bore you with it all but the last straw was the starter on my car packed up a little way from home as we were trying to get back for me to go to the Brownie do. :-| :-| :-| :-|. Fortunatley OH hit it hard and it got going again so we made it back but I had to use his :-P :-P. It is what I call the work wagon so you can imagine the state of it :-| :-| :-|.

Other than that all is well ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D

Morning all

'The Boss' has kindly given me the schedule for exams so when Maz has the week for her holiday I know which days she'd rather I avoid. Its only the Maths and English ones when she wants as many people available as possible.

Hope you're feeling better today LG. Horrible to have a breakdown when you really must be somewhere else. If you have a Parade on today, at least it is dry if a little chilly after the remnants of an overnight frost.

YG - I bet you're glad the sanding is finished - don't forget that you've still got the light woodwork rub down between coats ;-)

Hope the Sherry wasn't to fortify you for the M-i-L visit Paula, and that she appreciated the flowers. My in laws have a year on yours - so difficult to know what to get them as they are trying to declutter and don't need 'stuff'. F-i-L had so many bottles at Christmas that anyone would have thought he was an alcoholic. It's his special day next weekend. This time it will be chocolate bars with nuts in, or marzipan sweets ;-)
(We'll be missing the Rugby to visit :-0)

More washing down to do today - our stamina isn't what it was. It's the ceiling which does us in. If it were only the walls, we'd have finished yesterday. I thought I'd heard OH get up, but he must have gone back to bed. Oh well, at least it means more time on here :-D

Morning from a bright and sunny Yorkshire,

There are miniature irises in flower in the garden, so is that a sign that spring is on it's way :-D :-D :-D

DET, I don't think my hands and shoulder will take any more sanding!! Apart from that there is dust all over the house :-P :-P :-P The man in the shop where I bought the sander told me that you should fine sand the top coat, but then having said that also said his father had never sanded in his life and their house would probably be11ft wider if he had!! :-D :-D :-D

Right, I'm off to do some painting now :-P :-P
