Good Morning everyone. I can see that you have al been hard at work with one thing or another. Today I will be busy today getting chores shopping etc done. To give us a “free” weekend. It is OHs birthday on Sunday. It is difficult due to work commitments to get both families together at the same time; so we often have to have two celebrations, Saturday we are being taken by my son and DIL for dinner to a lovely old Restaurant the building is mentioned in the Dooms Day Book really a special treat. Sunday we are going with OHs family to a Indian restaurant for a curry they have been going there for over thirty years, so they are almost like family too.
DET I have never been to Harvester for breakfast so can't comment about all you can eat breakfast, however, they do have an all you can eat salad bar, and this is really excellent, to be honest I really don't need too much to eat afterwards. I have read the breakfast menu, it looks very filling, not sure I would get through it, but I think OH would give it his best.
YG. OH is looking forward to, and now counting the days until Oct 25. He was due to retire February next year, so this redundancy is an added bonus. I can understand why you are anxious re impending redundancy for months it has been hanging over OH like a black cloud, some of his younger colleagues have been off work with stress. The whole process has been a farce, with Management not telling the staff what is really happening, I think that has been the hardest thing for them to deal with. I hope you hear something soon one way or the other.
We went out last night for dinner with friends, and came home to find Katie the cat curled up on the chair and a half eaten mouse on the floor, obviously she was sleeping off her dinner.
Take care. Have a good day everyone. :-D :-D

Afternoon everyone.

DET, I hope the dentist wasn't able to take too much money out of your purse. Ooh, I hate dentists :-P :-P :-P

I have been to the hospital for another eye scan and now have to wait for a letter to tell me whether I need more treatment. Couldn't see the consultant as there are too many patients :-D :-D

D- day on Monday for everyone at risk. I know that I am safe, but my friend is definitely going. She has been told today by the CEO and has been left totally shellshocked and gutted as they have intimated that her qualifications are not at a high enough level. We are almost certain that 95% of those at risk will go and that they have already earmarked the handful that they want to keep (if any). It is absolutely appalling and if I can find something else at my tender age I am off :-P :-P :-P

Well another weekend is upon us, thank goodness!! Now, decisions, decisions!! Do I do some more painting!! :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 22 Feb 2013 18:48

NO!

DO NOT do any painting! You need to give that shoulder of yours a rest. :-|

How sad that your friend has been knocked back. It's bad enough to be made redundant, but to be told her qualifications weren't 'good enough'? What happened to experience? Is she the one who went on to take the CIPD exams as a mature student?

No work done on the teef thank goodness, although I have been badgered into a seeing the hygienist......which I might cancel. After asking the cost, it would appear that the Practise charges £100 per hour for 'labour' , 15 mins with the dentist and 30 min with Hygienist. :-|

Hope you're feeling more settled today LG now that you have caught up on your beauty sleep.

Enjoy your meals out Paula. If you can't eat it all, ask for a doggy bag :-D

YG Report 22 Feb 2013 19:24

Evening Maz. What a sleep shift you had!! Was the policeman eye candy!!

DET, my friend did get her CIPD degree. I really don't know what they want and they don't seem to either. They don't know if they may set up an HR team in the future, outsource, or what ever other option is open to them. They have told her she can apply for a position if ones comes up, perhaps at the end of the year or in eighteen months time but they still wouldn't give her a job, and do they seriously think that she is going to sit at home waiting!! It is definitely a case for all of them of 'if your face fits' and theirs obviously don't.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 22 Feb 2013 19:37

Sorry Maz - missed you when you posted. How sad that someone had to Sectioned, but once they stabilise their meds, they'll be back with you again. One thing that has come up in conversion is that psycotropic mediaction can be forced on a person after an on the spot assesment has been made as to their state of mind, but general medicine can't. You'd have to inject psytropic meds as they wouldn't swallow. Unless you have a SRN available, a lay person can't administer. :-0

YG - suggest that your friend joins the local HR Chapter and start networking. A CIPD does give a level of entry and the membership fee off set against her Tax.

YG

YG Report 22 Feb 2013 20:17

I can only find the USA version of the HR Chapter on Google, DET. There doesn't appear to be anything for the UK. Am I missing something?

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 22 Feb 2013 20:33

mr plod sure is an experienced eye candy strong and assertive,so helpful and understanding ,once ours are sectioned depends on which one they get ,it can remain with them as its easier to monitor the vulnerable ones and gives us better support chances .and keep them safe

Morning Maz and anyone else who is about. A small flurry of snow here , typical as OH is helping his son move into his new flat, delayed event as it is :-|.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 23 Feb 2013 09:11

Morning all

Glad to hear that at least one of your troubles is being despatched. You’ll be lodger free and slightly less stressed for a bit!

Ooo… a wedding in the air for Maz? At least we’ll be able to wear our fascinators for the cyber version. The number of times they’ve been in and out of the box, they are nearly worn-out ‘vintage’. Mind you, the youngsters seem to want to ‘try before they buy’ so a wedding seems to be an anticlimax. Hope the presence of Froggy and you together doesn’t put her off! Are you off to the IOW?

YG – PUT THE BRUSH DOWN. Give the joints a rest this weekend.

Need to get rolling this morning – even OH is up only an hour after the alarm went off. We’ve had to record the Rugby as he will miss this afternoon’s match. There’s a slights covering of snow, but less than a cm.

Afternoon everyone.

Pleased to hear that you are less stressed today, LG <3 <3

Enjoy your holiday, Maz and I hope the weather is kind to you :-) :-) No snow here at all. It was trying a little yesterday, but we have lovely sunshine today, although it is cold, brrrrrr :-D :-D

I am running late. Everything has gone wrong this morning! Thought I had an appointment to get my nails done, but apparently not and they are in a state!! The joiner & his wife arrived to check the work and he is coming one evening this week to fit the cupboard doors in the bathroom, so I now need to make sure that the door frames are undercoated and topcoated before he fits them, so no rest for me this weekend. The brushes will have to come out, I'm afraid, but I can leave the walls.

Off now to do the food shopping.

Enjoy the rugby, Paula and whatever you are up to DET. Well done to your OH for rising earlier than usual :-D :-D
