I understand Det, but oh my goodness how things have changed since our day. We were not allowed to take in a calculator, or any form of reference books etc. I can't see the benefits of parents encouraging cheating in exams, as when the students go on to college/university they will flounder without their “assistance”. I have seen many pushy parents, and the results it can have on students. Have to admit I have a bit of thing about cheating in any shape or form, sadly, it seems to be acceptable to so many people. Actually this has made me remember when my late husband coached the young lads at rugby. Some of the parents were horrible much more competitive than when he did adult coaching, poor little chaps would would be so embarrassed at their parents antics.

Morning everyone.

It is a lovely bright sunny day here so hopefully it will spur me on to get things done!!

Oh joy, the afternoon tea party today :-( :-( :-( At least it is only for a couple of hours :-D :-D

Morning YG - enjoy the tea party, at least it will give your shoulder a rest from the painting ;-)

The sun always lifts your spirits (as well as showing up the dust). Wish we had some coming, but at least it's dry.

Welcome back Maz for when you get hooked up to the internet again. Hope you had a good time away and that your home isn't a bomb site ;-)

Morning DET. I will try to send some sunshine your way as it is lovely here, albeit a little chilly out of the sun.

I am having a complete rest from painting today, but must get on tomorrow. Not too much more to do, but I am having a cortisone injection in the shoulder on Tuesday and I don't know how it is going to be for a couple of days.

I need to climb up to do the loft hatch, so watch out for news broadcasts about men in uniform having to break in to rescue me after I fall from a great height into the bath :-D :-D :-D

Welcome back, Maz. I'm pleased that you had a good holiday and you were lucky with the weather. You will soon have the lounge ship shape. What a pity you have to go back to work on a sleep over.

Welcome home Maz. Good to hear that you both had a good break. With all the walking you did, you should have burned of any surplus pounds you would have been tempted to pile on. Hope A kept up with any cleaning/washing he was able to while you were away!

Did you manage to survive the tea party without drawing blood from your tongue YG?

Just tried to send a text to LG, but couldn’t work out how to do it properly. She now has one which just says ‘R’ LOL

YG

YG Report 3 Mar 2013 10:53

You made me smile about your texting, DET!! I text quite a lot, but when I bought my new 'smart' phone I found the buttons a little small and my fingers keep catching the wrong button and it has gone before I can stop it!!! :-D :-D :-D

The tea party was ok and we were all in good humour!! The conversations were kept well away from work other than some light hearted 'gossip'!! We all stayed an hour longer than expected and she had certainly been busy baking, so all in all not so bad :-) :-) I was dashing around before I went to get hair and nails done and the food shopping, but it was a relief not to have a paint brush in my hand so I did enjoy the break. Back to it today :-D :-D

I went for an eye check up last week but have received a letter to say that the AMD is still active, so I have to go for more injections :-( :-( What with that and my shoulder, I will be relieved when they have stopped sticking needles in me before I look like a pin cushion :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 3 Mar 2013 11:05

:-D re the texting! She understood and sends her love & also has no internet. I'll email the body of the text to you. I've found the 'space' again & have sent a brief reply - could you text more fully please?

Glad the Tea Party was a success. Bad luck about the eye jabs, but at least you know what to expect now....and have time to adjust if the worst should happen.

Take care with the painting!

Good morning everyone I hope you are taking things easy today. It is a bit chilly here this morning so yesterdays plans to go into garden have not materialised . We are going for lunch with friends at the golf club later., so no cooking for me :) DET I had to smile re your text. When I sent a text to my son asking if he was still OK to pick us up at the airport, I also sent it to everyone in my mobile address book, I received some very strange responses.

Thank you YG.

Did you sit there with your tongue poking out of the corner of your mouth in concentration Paula? ;-) :-D

Although texting is cheaper, its a darn sight quicker for me to phone!!!!!

Enoy your meal out - we had lunch out on Friday at John Lewis at our local large shopping mall. Reasonable priced compared to the other Mall outlets, but a little dried out at the end of the lunchtime rush. Roast chicken tonight - it was on offer!!!! :-D

Morning All -

LG welcome back. Although we knew you were busy, it was unusual for you not to pop your head round the door. As cables can come lose easily, the previous lodger probably didn't do it deliberately. Hope you found the problem before calling the internet providers out and getting stuck with a bill.

Glad the text made you smile - you need a 'lift' to cope with the brick-bats life is throwing at you. Well done for working out what it meant - now you uderstand the problem texting is to me :-D

Hope Maz' night shift was peaceful and you are fairly well rested.
