You'd relive your childhood and have snowball fights, build snow men and show (tell) them how to make 'snow angels'. Just don't let them eat the yellow snow! :-D

LaGooner Report 12 Mar 2013 09:14

YG Report 12 Mar 2013 17:32

Evening all. The snow has gone, but it is still awfully cold :-P :-P Thermals and hot water bottle weather :-D :-D

A dire day at work, with more people being told that they haven't been successful in their applications for the vacant posts, so there will be a mass exit on Friday (we think). It seems that the hierarchy have had all this time, but suddenly decided in mass panic that there are a lot of projects still running and they will have no-one to manage them and I feel that some of them may be asked to stay on a little longer to suit :-( :-( In my opinion, for what it's worth, that is disgraceful.

I must admit to having been in a foul mood today and I don't think it is going to get any better before my holidays. :-( :-(

Well done at getting all the decorating done, Maz. It must have taken some strain off you having someone in to do it. Makes life much easier! I need to get someone to come and paint all the internal doors as I have had enough of brushes for now. Just a little bit left to do in the bathroom.

Morning all –

How sad that so many of YG’s colleagues were unsuccessful applicants for the few remaining jobs. Why couldn’t the powers that be have made up their minds earlier? It must have been so disheartening for the applicants. Come Monday, you’ll be looking at all those empty desks and weeping. Mind that your conscience doesn’t keep making you work unpaid overtime just to keep on top of things.

Glad to hear you had a good time not spending other people’s money Paula. Was your friend just trying to get an idea of what was available? Wedding dress shopping is a nightmare and they are so expensive!

Well done Maz’ decorator for having nearly finished. If he has done a good job, then end him up to YG. ‘A’ will be well pleased with the speed the fibre optic gives him for on-line gaming. You won’t get a look-in when he’s around!

Are you having to run H to work LG? What happens when she starts her new job? Any chance that OH can find a ‘good little runner’ cheap for her? Schools and Nurseries can close if the staff can’t get there, but care homes still have to care for the residents.

The coverage of the white stuff was really odd yesterday. We had to scrape 3” off the cars, but at the school in the valley they had less than an inch. They must have thought I was nuts turning up in my walking boots, but at least they were slightly more elegant than wellies!

Shopping day today. As we are still waiting for a parcel, we might have to time it so that we are back before PC goes to work about 3.30. She’s on a Twilight session.

Our boiler has been b’ing around – when it is cold, it can’t get the CH water up to temperature. The room thermostat in the hall is set at 18, but it rarely gets up to more than 16.5. When its milder outside it quite happily gets to the temperature required. Its not too bad in the living room, although we do sometimes have to give it a quick boost with the gas fire. OH says he is going to phone the engineers, but never gets round to it. He’s thinking that we may have to start to consider a new boiler on the grounds of diminishing returns.

Morning one and all, blue sky and sunshine again :-D. H cannot take her new job as housing is proving difficult. She has been given her old job back thank goodness I will still do the runs for now as she does not drive. They are now in the process of finding a suitable house near to work, nursery and school so fingers crossed but it could take a little while as she has other issues to sort first.

I have a relatively easy day today so going to make the most of it ;-)
