A is really going to hog it once its up and running. See if you can save up and get a house-laptop so that you can both be on t'internet at the same time. ;-)

Good morning. We have a very poorly computer with two Tojan viruses. We have to wait until Monday before it will be sorted. No wifi so I am relying on mobile to post this, apologies for any garbled words. Det sorry to hear about your Aunt, another link gone from your family chain is always sad. :-S

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Mar 2013 12:34

*2* Trojan viruses? What dodgy web sites have you been visiting then? :-D
Thanks for letting us know Paula.

Actually, our PC is running terribly slow this morning, especially with GR. Speedtest results seem fine, but its taking about 20 secs to change pages.

Funny, sort of, your comment about losing a link to the family tree. Unless a very close relative, almost the first thing I do when told of a death, is to up date my records. How sad is that?
I must admit that when I first read the email about the Aunt, my thoughts were that I should have asked her to try and identify some of the unknown photos. She's always seems fairly interested in our 'history' and adds all the info I've printed off to a folder for posterity.

Evening all.

Well done with the new broadband, Maz. Up and running very quickly :-) :-)

Trojans >>>>>>>>>>>>>> arrggghhh, evil things!! My security normally sorts them out, although I don't seem to have many problems. Hope I'm not speaking too soon :-0 :-0

Today has been absolutely awful :-( :-( Yes, there were plenty of laughs at the pub, until a couple of the managers walked in. Fortunately they only stayed about 20 mins but the atmosphere changed dramatically when they walked in. There have been lots of tears and more to come I fear, as some people have been told they have stay on for a few more days. We have two finishing on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and two more in two weeks time.

The best 'laugh' of all was just as we were getting ready to go to the pub and the poor guy who has had all the flack to deal with said there was one more little bit of bureaucracy to complete. One at a time the affected people had to have a short exit interview. First question: Why are you leaving? 2nd question: How do you feel about it? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Errrr, excuse me!! You are making me redundant!!!!!!

TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE!! Could they not have had a little more sensitivity and changed the wording somewhat from the generic exit interviews :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

On top of that, we have heard that the big boss did the same sort of restructure at the previous company. It was in total chaos for about four months and then she left to come to us, bringing half her cronies with her. It doesn't look good for the future :-( :-(

Well done Maz – that was quick!

Our true computer expert is eldest’s OH. He is the Help Desk top bod for an international company. Software yes. Hardwear no. PC has several friends who are amateur dab hands as well. One of them managed to rescue her Dissertation when her laptop died, thank goodness!

Poor YG and her (ex) colleagues. I do hope those who have to stay on were given an option to extend their leaving date or were told what it was to be as soon they were officially given notice. Nothing worse than to be told the week you’re due to leave that you are expected to stay on.

Get you fingers working and see if the hatchet woman’s previous organisation is deemed more successful now, or if she is considered an asset striper.

YG we paid for extra security protection to avoid virus's and threats, shop said today some trojons are a nightmare to get rid of, they are taking pc back to factory settings.

I can only imagine how awful work has been today, sounds the same management style as OH. The people affected by redundancy are all having to go and look at the new premises; now what do you think that is all about? I hope you can relax tonight and not let it get you down. Put your feet up and have a drink ;-) :-D

Morning all.

LG is probably off out shopping for her 'outfit' needed for tomorrow. Why is it that we can see things we like when we are browsing, but when we have money in our pockets and a need, we can't find a thing we like?

Wall-to-wall sport this weekend
RFU today
Grandprix ( if the wet weather hasn't altered the schedules
I thought there was a football match on Terrestial, but can't find it now. Perhaps it's on a different day.

YG

YG Report 16 Mar 2013 11:54

Oooh, is LG going somewhere special tomorrow??? You are right, DET, I can never find anything when I need it, but I also hate trying on clothes in the shop. Not an avid fan of clothes shopping nowadays. The bulges are all in the wrong places, so it is not easy finding something that fits properly!! Oh to be a size 10/12 again!!

Wall to wall sport :-P :-P :-P I think I will emigrate :-D :-D

I have had a nifty run round with the vacuum and duster and now need to consider the food shopping. I really need to talk myself into finishing the odd bits in the bathroom so that I can concentrate on the huge ironing task tomorrow, but I'm not promising.

Only four more days at work then 11 days off. Whoo hoo!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Evening all, well I managed to find a lovely very nearly new top to team up with my posh trousers in my local Hospice Charity shop. I was about to give up after dragging around all the big stores when I popped into the Charity shop as I always do to see if there were any interesting books and lo and behold there it was :-D.

YG we are going to a friend of the familys son's Christening.

YG

YG Report 16 Mar 2013 21:00

Well done, LG!! You were very lucky :-) :-)

Our company's branch in Lincoln has a very lucrative charity shop. I think they were one of the first to open one and a few other centres have followed. They are independent charities in their own right so they can do whatever they like in that respect and we can't interfere, which is perhaps a good thing the way things are going for us.
:-( :-(

LaGooner Report 16 Mar 2013 21:06

Oh your poor workers it is not boding well at all :-(. I will have to look into the Lincoln Branch when I finally get around to visiting my cousins

YG

YG Report 16 Mar 2013 21:50

I think they have a coffee shop as well. I wouldn't mine having a look. My friend and I are going to have a day out while I am off and I was thinking of Leeds for a change, but might suggest Lincoln :-) :-)

LaGooner Report 16 Mar 2013 22:03

I love Lincoln City I have so many happy memories from childhood there. I still have Aunts,Uncles and cousins living there but not my Grandad now sadly. I always visit the Cathedral when I am there, such a beautiful building

YG

YG Report 16 Mar 2013 22:17

Yes it is. My nephew's baby was christened there, but it was mid December and freezing cold :-( :-(

I am having awful problems with these error messages. Every time I post and it had been going on now for about three weeks or more. I have cleared the cache and done what they suggest and not used my favourites link, but its no better.

I am off for an early night then hopefully I will be refreshed tomorrow morning to get the jobs done. I haven't done anything today other than a bit of housework and food shopping, so I need to get a move on tomorrow :-D :-D :-D

Sleep well, LG and I will hopefully catch you tomorrow. <3 <3

LaGooner Report 16 Mar 2013 22:20
