Well done YG. Now you can enjoy the time with your friend tomorrow. If you play it right, she could drive so you can imbibe ;-)

Maz - Such a shame the posh pans have to go. Let's hope that N looks after them as well as you have. They're really heavy, aren't they?

Good to hear you're on the mend LG.

Breakfast was OKish, with cheap sausages and slightly over done fried eggs. No scrambled which was a shame. The bacon was alright. We won't avoid it in the future, but on the other hand won't go out of our way again.

CH now fixed, thank goodness! :-D

Morning everyone.

Are you are still tucked up in bed, snug and warm :-D :-D

My cold hasn't gone away as I thought, it is starting to take hold :-( :-( I need to get rid of it as I have to go for an eye injection on Tuesday and I can't cope with both :-D :-D

No sign of any snow flurries today, thank goodness. We had plenty yesterday, although none of it settled. The bone chilling wind has gone too :-) :-)

Breakfast sounds as though it was a bit of a disappointment, DET, but you don't know until you try.

Maz, I hope N looks after the saucepans. I would love a set, but they are definitely heavy and wouldn't do the shoulder any good! I used to have a set of cast iron pans, including a large casserole pan. I could barely lift it empty, let alone when it was full and that was in my 'youth' :-D :-D

Morning YG - sorry to hear that your germs are on the offensive, but at least you'll be over the sneezing stage.

Doesn't Folk lore say
5 days coming
5 days here
5 days leaving

But you might be lucky and get rid of it sooner. Lots of Vitamin C!!!

Off out with 'the girls' for an Italian evening meal tonight. OH will have to shift for himself and PC, but he is quite capable.

Morning everybody! You've drawn the short straw and got me back for a while - have taken DET's advice.

Poorly people, pans and snow - much the same here. Hope you feel better soon.

As recommended by my daughter I've started taking Berocca multi-vitamins and minerals, as well as echinacea. It's only my second day so I can't testify personally as to the effectiveness.

I'm currently spring cleaning my kitchen cupboards and am in a dilemma about some pyrex pans and a pressure cooker, which I haven't used for ages. It's tempting to wash them and put them back but I really do need to make space for other things. I think they will probably end up at my daughter's house, but I can't do it yet as she has only fairly recently moved house and hasn't finished unpacking her own things.

Evening everyone.

Maz, I don't know whether it will make any difference. I did post on another thread earlier this week and didn't have a problem with the error message, but reading through other threads people seem to be experiencing it in different ways. It does it to me every time I post and it is damned annoying :-P :-P

Hi CT, good to 'see' you on here again. Hope you have a mask on though, it's a bit risky at the moment!! :-D :-D

That's 3 of us with spring cleaning fever!! Come on DET & LG, you have to catch up :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> running off to hide somewhere safe and sound :-D :-D

Chucks cushion at YG >>>>> [#]
I'll have you know I cleaned the glass doors yesterday!!!

We've all the time in the world to spring clean and there's always tomorrow. Ours is more a case of redecorating and you know how we put that off!

Welcome back CT. Throw yourself into things! <3

Ask your daughter if she wants the surplus kitchen stuff before you put it back. You can always box it up for later, or put it on freecycle if she has enough of her own.

I've a caste iron open dish - not sure if it is Le Crouset, but it's certainly heavy. Rarely use it and its taking up space in the pots and pans drawer.

Hope that N will be satisfied once she gets hold of Maz' set. A 25 year guarentee sounds pretty good for the new set. We tend to go for cheap and cheerful non-stick now-a-days.

YG Report 28 Mar 2013 20:33

I'm glad it was the cushion and not the saucepan, DET :-D :-D :-D :-D

Had a nice lunch and an enjoyable hour at the pub. We had to dash off as my friend's Mum, who is 84 had been recalled following a mammogram and she needed to meet her at the hospital. Good news though, it was just a cyst and they drained it while she was there, so no problems :-) :-)

Happy Easter Nut Lodgers :-) :-) <3

I have spent a very comfortable night on the throne and even had a lay-in this morning :-D :-D

It is a beautiful day at the moment, with blue sky and sunshine. I have even chanced opening the windows for a while to dispel the last remnants of the paint smell!!
Still a bit nippy in the nether regions though where the sun can't get to!! :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 Mar 2013 09:46

Morning YG, and thank you for your good wishes (even if they are a few days early!) :-D

So glad you had the chance of a lay-in. Have you finally managed to train the fur??? You're very brave opening window. Although we normally have a small one in the living room open a crack to diffuse the fug, that's about as far as it goes. Far too cold!

Evening meal out with 'the girls' was good, but why does OH always think when I go out without him that I'll come back well under the influence? That's limited to family events and even then, less often than it used to be. :-|

Gearing up to do the ironing today. Need to clear the molehill before the next load goes through the wash :-0

Good morning everyone, I have been absent for the last couple of days, my oldest friend has been here we have been friends for over 53 years, and can still talk for England. The sun is shining but losts of thick snow covering still around. I hope everyone is fully recovered from colds, flu, bugs etc, painting/decorating is finished, but DET the ironing NEVER gets finished. Seeing family (in stages) over Easter so that will be nice. Have a good Easter everyone, don't eat too many chocolate eggs.

PS Handsome Harry is back to being his handsome self, no longer looking like Lord Neslson, his poor eye is better. <3 <3

Morning DET.

Pleased you enjoyed your evening of freedom!!

Fur is not trained as well as I would like! My cough was very irritating at 5am this morning so I got up to make a cup of tea and that was the signal for him to stir!! I went back to bed and he wasn't best pleased. He spent 10 mins sitting by his dish in the kitchen living in hope and then gave up and came and pawed me gently. I have found that ignoring him works now and he eventually settled down again until I got up!

I really need to get on with the unmentionable today! It fills me with a lovely warm feeling thinking about it >>>>>>>>> NOT!!

I already have a load of washing just finished and have stripped the bed, so decided to have brekkie and a half hour chill time before I start.

Now I have to give myself a strict talking to so that I turn off the lappy and get on with things :-D :-D

Catch you later, have a good day :-)

Hi everyone, I see nothing has changed - I still need a mask and a tin hat!

I hope everyone is recovering from their colds. What is it with spring cleaning? I completely understand the nesting instinct, trying to get things clean and tidy before baby is born. But to have an urge to clean everything when you are too old to nest?! OH never even notices what I've done, only jobs that still need doing.

Is anyone going anywhere / doing anything special over the Easter weekend?

YG Report 29 Mar 2013 18:04

Hi CT. I have been busy finishing off the kitchen and it shines now :-D :-D

Tomorrow it will be the lounge and bedroom, then on Sunday a bit of painting to finish in the bathroom. I am then done!! No more paint brushes until next year, I hope. I can hopefully start to get into the garden if the weather ever picks up!!

So that is my Easter and my holiday week!!

I can't wait to get down to the smoke to see the girls again in May (please note Nut Lodgers how tactful I am >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> girls?? >>>>>>> well, I do have a vivid imagination sometimes :-D :-D :-D :-D

Off down to son's in 30 mins to take the Easter Eggs as they are going away tomorrow for the week, but I won't be staying long. I need to eat when I get back and put my feet up :-D :-D
