Very nicely done Maz :-D

Aunt's funeral was yesterday - the immediate family took it very hard. As Aunt and Uncle live in a retirement complex, there were lots of elderly attendees from there. Once the buffet was put out, they descended like a swarm of locusts piling their plates high. My cousin got rather cross. Other than her father, none of the other immediate family got much of a look in and hadn't had the opportunity to eat lunch :-|

YG Report 16 Apr 2013 17:37

Evening all.

Hopefully, at least the weather was kind yesterday for you, DET. I agree with Maz, it is shameful how some people behave without consideration for anyone else. It's amazing how much they can stow away when it's free :-( :-(

Schools open again, LG!! Thank goodness for that. At least I can get round A**a at lunchtimes without having unruly children to contend with (and their parents too!). It drives me mad and there is no way on earth I would shop there at weekends :-P :-P

Evening one and all. I am waiting for my ASDA delivery due anytime now. I had loads of heavy stuff to get for stock cupboard so we let the man in the van deliver. (that's what the mini Gooners call him) :-D :-D :-D :-D

I am thinking of doing an online shop with Sai**s. I've got a £12off introductory offer so might have a go. I like to pick from the back of the shelves when I am shopping in store to get the freshest produce, so I'm hesitating at the moment!! :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Apr 2013 10:07

Morning all -

Our 'baby' will be 27 this year as well. Just thinking about it, we'd been married for 5 years and had one child. Still. It's better they wait and find Mister Right than rush into things. I'm convinced that the delay in finding a 'life partner' is linked to the 3 years out at Uni.

I've tried on-line shopping once, and nearly ended up with 6 kilos of tomatoes instead of 6, and bought a rather expensive bottle of lemonade thinking it was 1 ltr. It was something like 250 cl :-| I didn't like the way they substitiuted one item for another, the substitute not being an alternative we'd have picked.
I can see the attraction to avoid humping heavy or bulky goods, but do prefer picking and choosing ourselves.

Had funny old trip out yesterday all by myself to the main library.

- forgot to take the charity bag
- left my moblile and ciggies in the car
- the cupboard where the library keeps the keys to the display bookcases had a broken lock. It's one of those electronic fob versions.
- The over-ride gizmo needed a new battery, but they weren't allowed to go out and buy one because spares were on order. (They did evenutally manage to get it open)
- a group of school children decided to appropriate the desk I'd sat at while I was away looking at things on the shelves. At least they hadn't discovered my handbag tucked right at the back of the desk, apologised and passed over the items I'd left on top!

That aside, it was a successful outing

YG Report 17 Apr 2013 17:38

That doesn't sound like a good day to me, DET!!! :-D :-D I think you have persuaded me that I don't need to do 'online' shopping for food!! Not that it took much persuasion! :-D :-D

I've had the day from hell today so am just pleased to home now in the peace and quiet!! :-P :-P

LG. your eldest and mine were born in the same year then!! I'm feeling old too, particularly with a gd that will leave school in 2 years time :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Apr 2013 20:11

Well I have had a good day. I spent the morning at the Archive with YAL and we got loads sorted. Been to Brownies and didn't have to do a thing as the younger leaders ran it all.

I refuse the substitutes for my online shop so have no problems getting something we do not like. I don't do them very often now only for big stock cupboard loads. We find it easier as we live quite a way from where the car is parked and why carry it if someone else will do it for you ;-) :-D

YG

YG Report 17 Apr 2013 22:00

Evening LG. I fully understand what you are saying about the shopping. I don't generally have much big stuff and thought about ordering once a month, but I think I would still struggle to make up a reasonable order for bulky items. I think I will stick to going myself!! At least it gets me out :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Apr 2013 22:15

I do mostly go out for it as we do have mostly fresh stuff.

It's been lovely here today, unfortunately I have not had time to get out in the garden. Tomorrow I will have time and what do you bet the sun will go into hiding

:-D

YG

YG Report 17 Apr 2013 22:20

It's supposed to be raining here tomorrow, but clearing up for the weekend.

I might get chance to do some gardening then with a bit of luck, but I must go into town either this weekend or next weekend and I hate it :-P :-P

Our son is supposed to be moving house this weekend at last. He has had quite a few silly hold ups with it but now all done and dusted. It looks like we might be employed giving him a hand :-D

YG

YG Report 17 Apr 2013 22:38

That will keep you out of mischief then!!

I'm off for supper and bed. I think I have another tough day ahead of me tomorrow :-P :-P

Sleep well, LG. <3 <3
