Not ignoring you, LG!!

Had to go to the churchyard on the way home with some flowers for my Mum, who I lost 19 years ago today.

Then my friend called in to see me and she only left 30 mins ago. She still hasn't found a job yet and is not in a good place at the moment. Quite tearful, but still managed a good chat. We have only seen each other twice since she left work on 8th March.

I have just cooked some chips to have with the cold pork and am now eating my dinner!!

I have just got back from the historical Society meeting. Had quite a few visitors today and some nice presents.

LG - Sorry to hear your friend isn’t coping well. Is this the one with a new grandchild or a different one? Perhaps you could host a small Dinner party one weekend for her, or just a cosy one for the pair of you. It’ll give you an excuse to cook all those cakes you love but aren’t allowed to eat.

OH has said he wants to go out today. The best he has come up with is to drop his prescription off at the chemist – lol.

I'm not so bad LG, still waiting to hear how my work situation is going to progress. I can't believe you didn't tell the others last week about your upcoming birthday! (or did you think you may have been cling-filmed naked to a lamp-post and left in London by that nutty lot?!)

A bit further on with my medical situation (which I possibly haven't told you about). Consultant no. 1 cancelled my appointment, consultant no. 2 was great - said he couldn't do anything for me, but he knew a man who could and referred me to no. 3 who I've seen twice, but then he referred me to no. 4 who I saw last week and she has referred me back to no. 3 . I'm not too worried, just frustrated.

Sorry to hear your friend is struggling to cope at the moment YG, and thinking of you on the anniversary of your Mum's death. It will be 25 years next month since my Mum died, five weeks before my daughter was born. She was cremated, and I don't know what happened to her ashes so I always get some flowers for our house on anniversaries.

DET - what can I say?! I hope you have enjoyed your day out today, and got further than the chemists (or was it a secret plan of your OH to go to a chemist hundreds of miles away and treat you to a mini-break?)

My friend is the one with the new (ish) grandchild. He is a year old though, next month. She is very down because she keeps going for interviews and being rejected and this is having a bad effect on her after our CEO + one or two other completely demoralised her before she left. She is also the only female of the group who hasn't yet found another job, but it is not quite as straightforward in HR as it can be very diverse.

It was her birthday last week and I normally take her out for a meal, but she won't go at the moment and wants to wait until she feels better.

CT, your job problems are dragging on. I feel for you. It is never good to be in that sort of situation. I hope things get sorted soon.

I am sure that we rogues of the Lodge would have found something very appropriate to do to LG if she had disclosed the true facts on Thursday :-D :-D :-D :-D
