Evening YG. Ouch, the repairs don't come cheap do they

YG

YG Report 28 May 2013 20:53

Evening LG.

No, they certainly don't. I wish I earned the same hourly rate :-D :-D :-D

The bloomin' thing kept failing when doing updates, but we think it is sorted now. It's done what it was supposed to do tonight, but will have to wait for the next one for it to prove itself.

LaGooner Report 28 May 2013 20:57

I have problems with this one occasionally as it drops on and off of the internet at will. Give me my old laptop anytime this one has given me problems since day 1. Nothing really serious but mostly bloomin annoying :-|

There are a lot of so called IT technicians that really rip people off in my opinion. They do a simple task that anyone could do themselves and charge a fortune - I get quite angry about it to be honest.
IT technicians are the modern day equivalent of so called "garage services" of a few years ago.

Fingers crossed for you - I'm trying to persuade OH to replace the aged laptop, the ulterior motive being that he might leave 'my' PC alone. Not having much success as he states that he is "so tight, (he) could teach the ducks a trick or two" !

We didn't get too wet and ended up at the shopping mall for a coffee. Tomorrow we are out early to take the in laws shopping and to the GP. FiL fell last week and badly bruised his upper arm. At 88 his driving is getting a bit iffy as it is. The poorly arm won't improve matters.

Evening DET and Errol, My problems are usually sorted by son or B I L .

eRRolSheep Report 28 May 2013 21:04

did you have a good weekend away Ms Gooner?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 28 May 2013 21:06

We did in deed Mr Errol :-D. Got a few more bits to add to the family tree.

YG

YG Report 28 May 2013 21:20

Mmm, I don't think I could have sorted it on my own, Errol. We were into C:\Config.msi\ errors and I would be deadly let loose on that on my own :-D :-D

DET, you have to use gentle persuasion on your OH and unlock his pocket :-D :-D

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 28 May 2013 22:05

Ms Gooner - glad you had a good time and were able to find a few more twigs.

YG - that's what they all say lol

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 28 May 2013 22:21

I don't have to unlock the pocket> I always have his wallet in my bag :-D :-D :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 May 2013 00:25

What's his is mine, and whats mine's me own ;-)

Certain things I'll jump up and down about and insist on purchasing/doing but most of the time we come to a compromise.....even if it does take him 9 months + + to 'think of it' ;-) :-D

Fingers crossed we haven't had to pay an expert to deal with computer problems. If OH can't solve it, our son in law can normally sort out softwear problems. Although he is now 'Management' he still keeps his hand in.
