YG Report 29 Jun 2013 18:40

Evening everyone.

Just had a visit from R and littlie on their bikes. They have been out for a long bike ride and he has taken her past all the homes that gparents and ggparents lived in!!

I think he really came to see how I was. I don't give many outward signs away to him, but he is more astute than I give him credit for.

Gd has stayed at her nana's overnight and all day today, so Mum is having some peace and quiet.

Not sure how they are going to move forward if this is the start of five years of h*ll :-(

Morning all - Errol. The Mary Rose wasn't particularly saucy, but it was fishy!

It sounds as if we got off lightly with our girls. Yes they had strops, but nothing too bad. One advantage of living in the middle of nowhere (in their opinion) was that they needed to keep us sweet if they wanted lifts anywhere. :-D Two of OHs Father's Day Card designs highlighted the 'Free Taxi' service!!!!

The 90th birthday bash sounds wonderful. You're bound to have other people coming to stay at the house if it means a short break for them. Just as long as they help with the party prep and meals while staying there!

Its already quite warm darn suff this morning - I'm hoping to persuade OH to go to the Village Festival aka Fete later on.

Morning everyone

I am having problems moving around on the site. Keep getting the error messages and I cannot back out of it like I normally can. I have now deleted GR on my favourites bar and gone in afresh through Google. Let's hope that sorts it for a while.

The sun is shining here today and it is going to be a beautiful day.

Carpets all clean and the unmentionables mostly done apart from a bit of ironing. Planning to cut the grass and do some weeding, but don't know how far I will get as energy is in short supply! I don't like starting early on a Sunday in case neighbours are still in bed, so will leave it until late morning.

Fur actually let me lay in this morning. He was still fast asleep at 8am :-D :-D :-D

Maz - I think the site went down for a short period of time. I'd posted on another shorter thread and got the dreaded error message. I couldn't even change to a general board view!

Have a lazy day YG - do what you want and blow the rest. ;-) Your carpets must look a different colour now that all the builders dust has been removed. Regardless of how careful and diligent you've been with the vac, it does tend to get imbedded!

Glad you've sorted out the catering Maz - the last thing you want is yet more cooking! Depending on dates and other exam commitments, we might make a flying visit. OH keeps saying that he wants to visit Hastings ;-) ;-)

Have you woken up yet LG??? :-D

YG Report 30 Jun 2013 09:55

The carpets were cleaned in December after they finished the work, DET, but I have a maintenance programme and they come after 6 months to freshen them up, so it was a 'quick' session yesterday.

I will be ready for the next annual clean, as they are due to fit the new kitchen and bathroom sometime between September and the end of the year, so here we go again!! I have only just got the accessories put up in the bathroom!! :-D :-D

I hope you make it to the fete. Nothing nicer if the weather is good. :-) :-)

Maz, reserve one plateful for me please :-D :-D LG is probably charging up her broomstick ready :-D :-D

Evening everyone.

i have been really busy and a good girl! Cut all the grass at the back and side, weeded and edged the borders. Just got the front to do another day, but enough is enough :-D :-D

Going for a long, hot soak and then yummy dinner. I daren't tell Errol what I'm having :-D :-D

Well done YG - you'll be needing that bath after all the hard work you've done ;-)

We made it to the 'Festival' and came home with empty pockets after spending the cash supporting the local enterprises. 'Our' school was doing a hog-roast resulting in an extra peice of meat as a 'bribe' if someone gets a bit of help in exams ;-) ;-)

A neighbour from across the road dropped by a few minutes ago to tell us our next door neighbour died on Thursday morning. The young daugher the other side was taken into hospital by ambulance earlier this week - it all happens when we are away!

Sorry to hear that Maz - with your convoluted family, is he closer in age to your mum than you?

Actually, I'm a bit cross with the surviving spouse and her daughter. We've lived next door to each other for 29 years - been in each other's houses for coffee, helped out with children etc etc. Even though they may not wanted to have spoken face to face, we would have appreciated a scribbled note through the door sometime in the last couple of days. Even the person who did tell us said she only found out at Church this morning and she's been someone else who had offered to help in anyway she could. There's n'ought so queer etc.

DET, it is very sad that your neighbour's husband has died. I can understand your angst at her not finding a personal way of telling you after knowing her for such a long time.

Evening LG :-)
