Good afternoon everyone,

Pleased to hear everyone is enjoying the sunshine and that Mersey pops by to give you all a dousing when it gets a little too hot!
We have had eaten outside too Det - twice in a weekend - I think it must be a few years since we did so. The bonus is that I didn't get bitten by midges as per usual.

Did you see me waving to you from the train YG when we went to the races? (I hope you didn't see me coming back!) It was a great day out, apart from the weather. Youngest daughter won over £70 from a £2.50 bet!

Hi CT long time no see. I hope all is well with you and yours. <3 <3

Thanks LG, and thanks for the <3 <3 !

Hope all is well with you and yours too.

Things are getting better at last, once I receive some paperwork to do with my work situation, sign and return it, I will be able to move on (I'm still being wary about giving details because of who may be looking in and seeing what I post)

Youngest daughter has graduated, did well getting a 2:1 in spite of a bad final year in which she became homeless and lost her USB stick with her final essays on and had to re-do them. Am so proud of her and looking forward to the graduation ceremony in September

Evening All.

Hiya, CT!! You didn't tell me you were coming to the races. I am assuming you mean at our local racecourse :-D :-D I would have met you for a drink :-) :-) Mind you, I am not well behaved after one glass of pink water, so perhaps you wouldn't want to admit to knowing me :-D :-D :-D :-D

Congratulations to your daughter on her achievement. She must be really pleased it is all behind her now.

Good luck on the job front. Can't wait to hear all about it when you are in a position to tell us more. <3 <3

DET, I hope you managed to get out for the day and enjoy the weather. We need to make the most of it! Don't know how long it will last! Probably until the start of my holidays :-D :-D

I love the sunshine, but the old body objects to it nowadays! I'm ok as long as it is not too hot. Yesterday was a killer for me. I must treat myself to a parasol then I sit out in much more comfort. I can't work very well in it. I'm a grumpy at work now :-D :-D

Evening all

Congratulations to CT's daughter. A 2:1 is an Achievement in itself even without the problems she had in her final year. Good luck in her next step of finding a job. It isn’t easy with the NHS cut backs.
Glad to see that there is one good side effect re the mozzies after the problems you've had:-D Fingers crossed that everything else will fall in place now.

We went to visit Emmett’s Garden near Westerham in Kent. Spectacular views over the countryside. Despite the breeze it was still pretty hot.

Bad luck about the stuffy office YG. Did they not bother getting the aircon fixed?
Avoid the grumpy frog and top up your vitamin D while you can Maz
:-D :-D

YG Report 8 Jul 2013 20:52

Evening DET.

Yes, they put a whole new system in and my line manager is now in a relationship with the owner of the aircon company!!! Left her husband for him as well, although it never was a happy marriage :-D :-D

It doesn't seem to be ultra efficient and people keep messing about the temperature control. We have fans on our desk as well, so that says it all!! :-D :-D

It sounds as though you had a lovely drive out today. Did OH treat you to lunch? :-) :-)

Good morning!

Enjoy your time off Maz! I hope the good weather lasts until your holidays YG - have you got long to wait?

Thanks for the congratulations everyone! Daughter is planning to stay in London whilst she can afford to. Now she has her results she can finalise her C.V. and start job hunting, and she's lucky that she's getting plenty of hours bar / restaurant work at the moment. I haven't needed to send money her way for a few weeks now. Why do they start of with Muuum rather than Mum when they are after something?!

Any plans for today Det and LG? It looks lovely where you went yesterday Det, (I had a look at the website)

Morning all

Sounds as if you’ve got the balance right Maz. The cool(er) front will be with us on the Eastern side some time tomorrow which will help to make Mr Grump more sociable.

YG – I bet that aircon system was put in on the cheap! Either that or ‘they’ need to get an engineer back in to look at it!!!!

No, OH didn’t buy lunch out unless you count a sandwich meal-deal from the supermarket. We’d left it too late to defrost the rolls we keep for picnics.
He must be getting interested in FH; we went into Westerham because its there and wandered into the church on the way back to the car park. He was reading the monument inscriptions laid into the floor and was trying to work out who was related to who :-D

No real plans for today unless you can count a dump run of surplus media equipment and cables and collecting some dry cleaning!

Enjoy the sun, but mind you don't get burnt!

I think the best air con is windows open and shade lol
hard at work though ,just done some admin and now a quick cup of coffee lol

CrystalTips

CrystalTips Report 9 Jul 2013 12:53

A mix of inside and outside chores for me too, but may try to do my admin outside.

I would be doing a trip to the tip too if OH had his way. The trouble is the last time I went to the tip I came back with more than I took! The people in the car in front were about to get rid of a lot of wood, but they gave it to me for our wood burner. Another time I came back with lots of very sturdy 12 inch plant pots - I did suspect the man who loaded them into my car for me had been growing cannabis plants in them and needed to get rid of them in a hurry, but they have come in useful for my lilies and tomato plants.

I've started clearing my late father's house out now that eldest daughter and her family have moved into their own place. OH either wanted to have a skip or take everything to the tip or charity shops, but I've been bringing things home in stages so I can have a proper sort out. Perhaps as well - amongst other things I found £40 still in a Christmas card sent to daughter. Before you ask I did pass it on to her and not do 'finders keepers'!
