Good Morning DET. Another hot one here :-|. The soaking last night was very refreshing I walked home dripping all the way. Same again for me tonight but seeing it's the Brownies I could get even wetter if that's possible ;-) :-D

Evening Maz.

It has cooled down a little here tonight. so I am hoping for a better night tonight.

Poor you, being disturbed by fur. We have both had problems this week!!! :-( :-(

I made sure every window was closed last night, except the two sky lights in the bedroom and then put the fan on next to the bed for 40mins on the timer. It helped me get to sleep.

I am hot, sticky and hoping that the fan sends me off into a peaceful slumber :-D :-D

Morning all -

If you're still too hot at the weekend, you'll have to visit darn suff; its supposed to be about 20 on Saturday in our neck of the woods before climbing up again. We'll end up wearing winter woolies on that day!!!!

Hope you've dried out now LG. Any regrets about taking a step back??

We're going out today to use our 'Traditional Afternoon Tea' voucher which was a (seasonal) present. We're going to a hotel in Rye so that we can have a wander round the town and visit one or two NT places in the area.

Good morning. I am off out soon to visit my very poorly friend. Last Brownies was quite upsetting but no DET there are no regrets as I will very occasionally visit the as they are such a lovely bunch as are the Rainbows. The girls and parents made a collection and I have been presented with a Tour pass for my beloved Emirates and some spending money for the Armoury shop :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D. They know how to please me for sure and I had a few of the Brownies (fellow Gooners) offering to come with me :-D :-D

Ooo what a thoughtful gift - far more appropriate than an M&S voucher and a bunch of flowers!

Hope the warmth isn't effecting your friend <3

I think she is coping with it quite well, she and hubby have just moved to another house which is shaded for most of the day. Their last one was a suntrap and never seemed to keep cool. I'll see if this one is any better today :-D. Just had the news that the docs may well have beaten her illness into submission so fingers crossed for her.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 18 Jul 2013 09:55

Absolutley!!!!!

Someone I was aquainted with years ago had this - although it evenutally beat her, she had several years of wonderful holidays making the most of her time.

Evening all.

I hope you found your friend well, LG and that she is settling into her new home. :-)

Afternoon tea, DET!! My, you know how to live :-D :-D :-D

One bit of good news to fend off a horrible week is that my best friend has at long last secured a new job. It is local too, so no travelling for her and a regular Mon-Fri. I met her for coffee at lunchtime and she was bursting to tell me :-D :-D :-D :-D

I don't know, I'm sure.
you turn your back for five minutes, catch a few waves, return to your sunlounger and there it is - well isn't, actually. Vanished like a set of toenails.

Sory eRRol I thought it was one of mine ;-).

Evening one and all , Our local Records office held a talk at the library today. Very interesting I actually found out a few things that I did not know that could be very helpful in my search for OH's GGGG Grandma.

My friend was not too good when I arrived but I managed to get her laughing and a bit happier before I left. I drove a short way down the road, pulled over and cried my eyes out,she is a shadow of the lovely lady i once knew :-( :-(

Home again after an eventful day.

The Tea was great; the equivalent of one and a half rounds of sandwhiches, 2 scones with jam and cream, a large slice of fruit cake and a packet of 2 biscuits. No need for any more food today – the diet can start tomorrow!!
We went to Bodiam castle, where I had to have help from a 9 year old to get up a grassy bank, to Rye for a look around and Tea at the Hotel, then Rye Harbour and Nature reserve for a brief wander to the beach.

On an unhappy note, we passed an accident on our way to Bodiam.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-23368008

At the time we passed, a policeman was performing chest compressions to a person in the car which had rolled down a sloped verge.
We think that the northbound lorry must have clipped her rear, ( his offside front wing was damaged) pushing her into the path of the southbound lorry. The south bound lorry also had damage to its offside front wing and front in general. Obviously we don’t know exactly what happened, but suspect she was waiting to turn right into a petrol station/side ride. I do have sympathy with the north bound driver as the accident happened just around a bend. With the high hedges on that side, he’d have had little chance of seeing her. RIP

Brilliant news about your friend’s new job YG.
Sorry to hear about yours LG.
It weren’t me eRRol!
