YG Report 20 Jul 2013 11:20

I'm here!! Back from the hospital and not a pretty sight :-( :-(

Very quiet in there this morning and expected to be in and out without much waiting, but obviously my eye candy was late arriving, so we finished up running about 45 mins late. Just about made it in time for R to pick up me at 9.30.

I am very uncomfortable right now, but will be much brighter by tomorrow (I hope!!!) He seemed to think there might be some infection in the eye, but also thought it could be a reaction to the anaesthetic drops and iodine, so i thought he was going to refuse to do the injection at first, but he went ahead with it.

I keep asking him if he will do a facial for me instead, but I don't think he understands my humour :-D :-D :-D

It is cooler here today and I am revelling in it :-D :-D Heard someone comment that there are thrunderstorm forecast for Tuesday. Hope so, to give the garden a watering :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 20 Jul 2013 11:24

Welcome back YG - best keep away from the computer if your eye is uncomfortable. Fingers crossed that there is no infection or else you'll be back as a self-referral!!

I think you're right about the thunderstorms....except they can't work out where at the moment. Our water butts are empty which is a bit of a bind now we are on a meter. :-0

YG Report 20 Jul 2013 11:47

Having a meter is a problem when it comes to watering. I have one fitted and the bill has kept going up until now. It has been reduced this time, but we had lots of rain last year so I didn't need to water as much.

My neighbour used to pass me her hosepipe, as she wasn't metered, and I could do most of the front garden, but now she is more frail, her son waters the garden and I don't have the same opportunity :-( :-(

I am going to try to have a doze for a while to rest my eye, so will be back later :-D :-D

Hope your eye is feeling better after a rest YG.

It seems that everyone will be a lot cooler today. Even though the forecast for our area was showing sunshine, temperatures not quite as high as yesterday, it's been a lot cooler and overcast, and I've even been tempted to put my cardi on. Will welcome some rain soon though just for the garden. On a water meter here too and have used all the water out of the two water butts in the greenhouse, but now the rest of the garden is wilting. Waiting for neighbours to get their hosepipe out so I can re-fill the water butts (they aren't on a meter).

After yet another hospital appointment, I'm a bit nearer to an official diagnosis. This time I actually held my hand up to say that I have done some research and know that I'm not alone in my symptoms. That didn't cut any slack. (sorry that saying was a bit out of the blue and I'm not sure of the exact meaning and origins - will Google it) Next appointment in 3 months for tests, then hopefully diagnosis

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Jul 2013 11:06

Morning all –

It seems you are making some progress at last CT. It must be a relief to know that you aren’t the only one with the same symptoms and that you aren’t ‘making it up’. Its such a shame that there is so long between appointments. I still wonder if our neighbour would have had a longer lifespan if he had been given treatment when they first realised that his cancer had spread.

Lucky people to have neighbours who will let you use their water for the garden. We’ve resorted to catching dish & veg rinsing water in a bowl to tip onto the pots. As we have a dishwasher we don’t actually use that much via the sink!

Hope you’re feeling a bit better today YG.

It certainly wasn’t as hot yesterday. I wore jeans and a cardi all day, and OH put his fleece on in the evening! As it was cooler last night, I decided to close the bathroom window as we didn’t need the ‘blow through. The handle came off in me hand.
:-(

Good morning everyone.

We have had some rain here overnight, so the garden has breathed a small sigh of relief, but the grass feels very sorry for itself! It is still quite humid here so windows are open for some air! It is supposed to hot, hot, hot tomorrow and Tuesday and then breaking down completely on Wednesday. Ah well, it was nice while it lasted and I prefer it a little cooler :-D :-D :-D

Her Maj is noticeable by her absence!! Where are you, LG!!

CrystalTips Report 21 Jul 2013 17:24

Det's last sentence is sticking in my mind - it was so unexpected and funny! (Hope you got the handle fixed)

I hope Her Maj didn't catch a chill from the soakings last week!

Cardi day again here too. I think I put a jinx on the weather by ironing my summer frocks yesterday, apologies to any sun worshippers!

A quarter of a century ago I had started in labour with my eldest. I remember it well. Will 'phone her at her birthday time tomorrow, as my Mum always used to do with me. I'm pleased that both my girls were tea-time babies so I can give them a call. There is no way I could stay up late these days!

YG

YG Report 21 Jul 2013 22:00

You were a good girl!! I thought you would have come back loaded with plants :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 21 Jul 2013 22:03

It is not worth getting plants for my garden at the moment as I have not the time to do much with it. I also have 2 little ones who like to pick the flowers for mew given half the chance ;-) :-D :-D :-D. Yal was the one looking to buy plants but could not find exactly what she wanted.
We are more interested in setting up a new filter system in the pond as it gets very silted up because old filter is not really man enough

YG

YG Report 21 Jul 2013 22:24

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 22 Jul 2013 09:38

Morning all

It was the ‘andle on the big window as opposed to the fan light wot came off in me ‘and. OH has managed to pull the window closed and lock it but will have to get someone in to mend it. Luckily the suppliers are a local company and quite good about maintenance even if it does cost a little bit for replacing the part. We are contemplating a new front door and porch window; they’ll want to keep on the good side of us!

Birthday wishes to CT’s daughter. Hope she has a great day. You never know, she may share it with the next but 2 heir to the throne!

Any luck on the internet for your pump filter LG? At least you had a good day out even if it wasn’t successful otherwise.

Plodding days are good Maz.

BM and partner are supposed to be coming for a BBQ today, if he doesn’t cry off due to jet lag. Although it’s going to be really hot, at least it won’t rain until tonight.
