Getting there YG. I was going to start rifling through my wardrobe today to see what to pack but in the end I could not be asked ;-)

A is going tomorrow ,I have two days off now we have the car lol so will make use of it lol ,

Good morning all. Same here Maz got loads to do and not really the enthusiasm going yet.

Just a quickie in case I get kicked off the boards again - every time I've tried to get on GR, even the home page I've been getting the error message. I've not been able to access any chat boards. Apologies for not being able to comment on the Nutlodge thread - I can't read it!

My big news is that as from today I have now officially been made redundant from work. I don't usually do emoticons but may insert them all, because they all apply to how I am feeling right now

Not a big package after 28 years in employment, just the statutory redundancy, but at least that is better than the alternative! Waiting to hear from my solicitor about the settlement, there may be a clause where I cannot mention that my ex employers have been wrong. I would like to name and shame after all the stress I've been through, but will not do that ...

For some reason all the music coming into my head for my celebrations seem to be by Queen - LG you have influenced me so much!

On another celebratory note, I have found something to enable me to digitise old VHS and camcorder tapes.

Good morning all – how lovely to be missed.

We had 2 nights away and came home yesterday afternoon. Although we could have made it a day trip, OH gets very anxious if he can’t beat the rush hour traffic on the M25 meaning that we’d have had to leave only a couple of hours after we got there – if that makes sense.
We paid out for a group guided tour of the Colleges/area which was well worth it; otherwise we’d be drifting along not really knowing what we were looking at. Mind you, apart from Magdalene which we visited independently, and Jesus, the first one the tour took in, I can’t remember one from the other!!!!
It was quite exciting recognising some of the scenes used in ‘Lewis’.

Well done CT – anything is better than nothing, and it does mean that the reason for leaving the previous job looks so much better on your CV.

Maz - Enjoy your 2 days with the car. When are you going to find time to decorate A’s room?

Enjoy your holiday LG. Somerset and Dorset sounds good. Next year with no Guiding, you might be able to go during term time – cheaper and no families.

Spring is something to look forward to YG. The things you might want to do in the house will still be there if you can’t afford the two. It sounds as if you have a couple of things planned for the coming 2 weeks off. How about fitting in a coach trip – not too expensive and it would take you places you might not have considered.

A is away for 10 days so i havethe wheels to help with work and it is safer at froggy's place .I am doing chores today as froggy is at work got the top of the house done bedding is in and started I have some admin to do and i would like to get a hair cut if possible too

DET i went to oxford a while ago and did the colleges i enjoyed that very much
last year we went to Oxford with work and they were bored as it was too busy for them and we were not there long enough to do anything

You've been busy Maz! I hope you did manage to treat yourself and find time to get a haircut. I love somebody else washing my hair - especially these days when quite often you get a head massage too! I find it a whole body experience, I suppose releasing any tension relaxes your back and everywhere else too.

It makes total sense Det - there is nothing worse than spending time with an anxious OH! I think it was a good call to stay over, and to have a guided tour.

Are there any days you may have free YG and fancy meeting up and going together?

Was anyone else having trouble getting on GR the other day? I am used to the error message now when I try and post something, but I couldn't even get on the home page.

OH asked me to take his jacket to the dry cleaners today - he wore it to The Ashes cricket yesterday, it was only whilst I was double checking his pockets that I noticed lots of purple marks on his jacket. The dry cleaner asked if it was from a handbag to which I replied it had better not be! I was thinking red wine, or paint from a bench, but then remembered that he had taken a black fabric supermarket bag for life with food and drink in. It turned out to be dye from the bag, which probably won't come out. The man told me that a woman's very expensive suede coat was ruined by a handbag, and a girl in the shop told me the same had happened to her with dye from a shoulder bag spoiling her white dress. So please be careful and beware!

Just had my question answered by going on the Suggestions thread, I now know that lots of other people were struggling to get on the site :-|

We had our annual conference at St Catherine's College back in 2008 and I have been asked today if I want to help out as this year's which is going to be at The Belfrey's in Oxford. I have declined, as they are very long days and my bad foot won't let me do all the running around that is required. Apart from which, I would have to board the cat and I'm not paying for that for work!!

CT, whereabouts are you? It might be possible to arrange something :-)

Evening one and all, not sure if I will have computer access this time we are away but I will update via text.

The throne will travel with me CT so no chance of it being re upholstered again. It must stay the right colour as the season is due to start very soon :-D. I have also booby trapped my throne room so the decorators cannot get to work again and have placed my new CP Tiger (TIGGER ) just inside the door to keep you all out :-P :-P :-P :-D
