If you are looking in before leaving, LG, have a wonderful time and don't do anything that I wouldn't do!! :-D :-D :-D
I am sure you will cause quite a stir travelling down the motorway with the throne fastened to the roof of the car :-D :-D
Booby traps noted and plans already underway to neutralise them. Tins of paint stirred and ready for use. Plenty of meat cut up ready to keep Tigger happy :-D :-D :-D

Morning all –
Fingers crossed that there were no hiccups to delay LG’s start. At least she has a Lodger to feed the cat!
What a shame that you can’t go to the conference in Oxford YG. Mind you, when OH has been away on business, he says he rarely has time to take in the sights. I can imagine how busy Oxford could seem for people with ‘needs’. If Maz’ clients are anything like us, they might see something on TV and be able to say “I’ve been there!”
Lucky CT’s OH to have been to the Ashes. BM had tickets to the last day at the Oval a few years ago, but the Test had finished the day before. What a shame that his jacket is probably ruined. I wonder if there is a warning on the supermarket bag?
Fingers crossed that CT and YG can get together. It only needs a few social events to make a holiday.
Tentative date for ‘The’ wedding is in July – wish me luck in losing at least a stone! It will be in a parish church in a village about 8 miles from Hexham. Maz will chuckle about this……they did enquire about holding the reception at a Race Course. :-D

Morning DET.
I am just having an hour's relaxation before I start on the jobs in hand!! Well, actually it has almost turned into two hours, but who's counting :-D :-D :-D
I have a load of washing ready to hang out and then I am going to do the food shopping, so that I can come back and start :-D :-D
A day in town tomorrow with my teenage gd. What an experience that is going to be :-D :-D We are doing 'ladies that lunch' when the shopping is done. All I have to do is try to keep her away from anywhere where she can get her ear pierced :-D :-D I am not accepting any reponsibility for that :-D :-D

~~~~~ waves to all Nut Lodgers.
Good morning - hope you have a quiet night Maz, and manage to get some sleep. Will Frog be able to give you a lift there and back or is he working??
Did you manage to get all your tasks done yesterday YG? Enjoy your ladies wot lunches outing today. Assuming that g/daughter is under 16, you can use the 'parental permission' opt out clause if she tries to get her ears pierced. Does she want the normal one in each lob, or is she after multiple ones in each ear?? One teenager I knew had them in the top of the 'shell'. Unfortunately her ears stuck out. What with her normal sullen expression and tendency to chew gum, she reminded me of a cow with identification ear tags chewing the cud :-( :-D
Morning everyone.
Hope LG has got to her destination safe and sound.
GD is under 16 DET, so I know she won't be able to get her lip pierced!! She says she is going to do it herself, but her mother will have a fit if she attempts it :-D :-D
The day has been shortened somewhat as she wants to walk her friend's dog this afternoon, so I will probably finish up going back to town either tomorrow or Tuesday.
I didn't get any jobs done yesterday, other than the food shopping. I felt quite unwell when I got back from the supermarket and had a nap :-( :-( I'm ok this morning, and I hope it was just the build up of stress coming out. I really was on my knees by the time I finished for the holiday and we are all feeling it in our team.
Maz, I hope you have a good shift tonight. If Froggy can take you it will cut a lot of time off your journey to work.
Morning YG.
Isn’t it often the case that you become unwell when you are on holiday? Just rest and re-charge your batteries. If it’s all getting too much for you, have you given any serious thought about going part time if finances allow? If you don’t do something, you might end up signed off ill with stress!!!!
A lip piercing? No wonder her parents would hit the roof! At least she had the courtesy to let you know that she had extra plans for this afternoon. It’s great that she wants to spend one-to-one time with you; I doubt if ours when teenagers would have wanted to do the same. :-0
Have you looked at the free Kindle downloads recently? They seem to have several new ones in different genre which might suit your holiday reading! There is a selection at 99p as well if you feel like splashing out.
Aftrnoon DET. I am back and I have survived!!
No piercings or mention of having them done, but we did chat about them and all the other problems that she is suffering with as a teenager!! :-( :-(
We were both hungry so hit Deb's for a full English breakfast before starting the shopping. I got my dress for the meal out and some leggings, but couldn't get my cosmetics as they didn't have the colour in stock.
I have to go back tomorrow to the opticians and also to renew my bus pass, so will try B**ts as they will probably have it in stock.
It cost me a new top for her and some Builder Bear clothes for the youngest gd's bear, so not a cheap day, but we both enjoyed it.
I will have a look at the books, as I am coming to the end of the one that I am reading at the moment.
I am hoping that I can get most of the jobs done this week and then laze around next week. :-D :-D
Evening all,
Had to come off internet this morning once OH got up, and get on with 'jobs' in the house, hence me not posting since sending pm's to Maz and YG. A mini -meet is almost arranged, but not necessarily for the immediate future when YG is off work, we'll see.
I'm pleased that YG's shopping trip didn't end up in disaster with regards to piercings, and I'm still laughing at Det's closing sentence about the tagged cow!
I didn't know you had a Kindle YG, I've got lots of books on a USB stick I could pass on to you, or send you a link to an author whose books I've enjoyed reading, free on Kindle.
I've been spending time converting VHS tapes. I've had to borrow a video player in order to do this, and it is taking such a long time, but I've enjoyed watching things from donkey's years ago. I'm going to start on camcorder tapes once I've digitised the VHS ones. I need to preserve all the films of when the girls were growing up before the tapes deteriorate any more
If ERRoll or anyone else could help me with regards to conversion from a Quicktime .mov to a format I could use on my DVD player it would me much appreciated!
Hi, CT. The link to the author would be great, thank you and I can then have a look. I love my kindle. One of the best things that has ever been bought for me :-D :-D
I can make any of the days that you are free, I think, as far as I know at the moment. Is Maz able to come?
a slight possible that Maz could make it Thurs /Fri. I'm still OK for the days I suggested during that week, but I am able to play out any Saturday anyway if a mini-meet is to be in the future rather than during your holidays.
Have you got meat for Tigger at the ready? We can sneak into the throne room soon - and decorate it!
Will pm you a link to book stuff YG x
Yes, the meat is ready. A few nice choice chunks of beef!!
We need to decide what colour to use and how we are going to trim up the room :-D :-D
I am off under the duvet now to catch up on some sleep lost last night!! I was up before daylight broke this morning and my eyes need matchsticks now to keep them open :-D :-D
Morning Nut Lodgers from my cold, wet, miserable neck of the woods :-( :-( Typical weather when I am off work :-D :-D
Off to the opticians this morning. I scratched one of the lens and because I have been told not to get new glasses until the AMD is stable I decided I had better have new lenses put in the existing frames. It's still going to be £250 and the optician won't do them without another eye test :-( :-(
While I am out and about I will look for some suitable things to throw at the walls in the throne room! A couple of buckets full of glitter should start it off, but I am not buying RED glitter!! :-D :-D
Morning all –
A Northern mini-meet? How wonderful for you! When ever you get round to it, you’re bound to have a wonderful time.
Never mind having to go back into town today YG. A mixture of retail therapy and catch up events makes a Stay-Vacation. You’d be climbing the walls if you didn’t get yourself out and about.
As LG seems to be cut off from the internet, we can enjoy the change in colour scheme for at least a week or so. Did Maz get some of her clients to give a hand? It would keep them occupied if they couldn’t sleep. Well done that person!
We’re having to go shopping today, having missed last Wednesday. Although we did quite a large dry goods shop a week ago to qualify for Sains’ petrol voucher, we’ve run out of salads and veggies.
Well I'm back and broke :-D :-D
Paid for the new lenses which are going to take 2-3 weeks :-( :-( Needed some new makeup and what I am using now was making me look colourless, so had a bit of a makeover in Boots with Est** Lau*** and waved goodbye to another bundle!! :-D :-D Oh well, i can't take it with me :-)
I haven't done any jobs yet, so need to get my backside in gear tomorrow morning.
Enjoy the shopping, DET. Hope you have found something suitable for the throne room as well :-D :-D
Hee, hee! As long as you feel that the expense was worth it, that's all that matters. The in-laws have some sort of insurance/savings plan for glasses. I wonder if that would help for future damage?
We went to Sains via J.Lewis in the shopping mall. OH asks if I had bought everything we wanted. Well, no actually. I 'want' a lot of the things they sell, but 'need' very few!
The widowed neighbour is all of a fluster...she's lost her front top teef :-( :-D Last known to be in her dressing gown pocket - there was the suggestion that she threw them away with some tissues, but the bin has turned up everything but.
It's chucking it down outside. OH went into the village when it was warm and sunny to get something we forgot. Oh well - he migh have a brollie in the car. :-(
Oh dear, I can just imagine the advert in the local shop window for the missing teeth!! I hope she finds them or she will be on soup, omelettes and scrambled egg until she gets some new ones :-(
Of course you haven't got everything you want, DET :-D :-D Silly OH asking a double handed question like that. Does he not know women better by now :-D :-D :-D
Omg, the excitement of it!! I have only just picked up the post from the front hall and there is a letter saying that they are starting the work on the bungalow week commencing 29th September!!
