Morning Maz

What a nuisance that you have to get up for the decorator when you could be in bed. You'll be absolutely shattered by the time he’s finished and then A will be back home with his laundry!!

I’ve a pile of ironing rapidly approaching a mountain that ought to be tackled. As long as there isn’t the urge to nod off after lunch, I’ll do it then. Perhaps. May be.

Morning everyone.

Has that caffeine kicked in yet, Maz :-( It is awful having to do things when all you really want to do is rest.

DET, I have a pile of ironing here too. I'll whizz it down to you on LG's broomstick. She'll never know that I borrowed it!! :-D :-D

Morning YG - don't you dare...you can keep your ironing to yourself :-P :-D

Just typing an email to a friend and realised that your conference is being held at the same place that our meeting was. I wondered why the name rang a 'bell' :-D

Good afternoon all,

If it's nice weather like it is here I wouldn't bother ironing, unless you can do it outside, it seems a shame to waste sunshine. Having said that my pile of ironing isn't too bad, OH's stuff is done anyway, yesterday I washed and ironed his shirts when they were almost dry to make it easier.

Not wanting to waste fine weather I'm washing the bedding today. I can't decide which clean duvet covers to put on. It is a big dilemma -the window cleaner is due - I can't remember which one was on last time he came, and I don't want him to think I've not changed the bed in a month! I suppose I could rush up and close the blind when he comes and pretend it's to keep the room cool.

In the supermarket this morning, needed oil for the car and I knew it was on sale at a motorists specialist store, but couldn't figure out how to get there! The town centre is such a mess at the moment with Metrolink works, and several one way streets are being changed today, to be one way but the other way round.

I was adding up in my head as I was going round to make sure I was just over £50 so I could get a 5p off a litre of petrol voucher, but once I'd put the car oil in my trolley and spent £10 on children's DVDs (£5 each or two for £5) I knew that it would be well over £50 once I'd visited the wine aisle.

I was delayed at the checkout. The woman in front of me had spent £65, and handed over a £50 note (I know it's not her fault that she possibly doesn't speak much English) The girl said she needed another £15, so she handed over £5, the girl said she needed another £10, so then the woman started taking things out of her shopping bags to reduce her bill. First of all baby rusks, then milk, bread, other food items until it amounted to less than £55. I noticed that she kept the air freshener, and other what I would consider non-essential items. When it was my turn and I told the girl that she had been very patient, she replied that she couldn't believe that a pair of school pumps at £8 weren't handed back first seeing as they don't go back until September. Poor baby having to do without rusks!

cRRystalTips - I am sure that if you let the window cleaner into your bedroom each month, he is probably not overly bothered about the actual colour of the duvet cover.

I think I've sorted my problem with .mov conversion by the way. I've been on lots of forums, downloaded some free software, which turns out will put a watermark on it until you buy it. I think I've found something else in the App Store. It's got good reviews so I'm just about to give it a whirl

Thanks for the link eRRol, and please call me CT as the others do, to save your typing paws. Paws? Or is it hooves you have or cloven hooves like camels?

I've heard of Handbrake before but not tried that yet, but will. I've managed to burn to a disc which will play on my DVD player, but I've only got a couple of minutes of footage. My fault probably, seeing as I jumped in at the deep end to see if there was an option to fit the whole film onto a 4.7 gb disc. Ah well, only one wasted so far.

What did I say about not wasting the sunshine?! I'm wasting it in my technology dungeon. Let me know if you want 600 e-books, I've got my Google drive now, but they are already in my Dropbox though, or you could call round for a cuppa and copy them (don't know how to say this after the window cleaner comments) my lawn needs mowing. I could have said worse!

Afternoon everyone.

I've had a text from Her Maj who has been cider tasting this lunchtime. Don't know what state she is in now, but says everything is well with them :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Aug 2013 18:58

Cider tasting? It's one way of sheltering from the rain! Did the text make sense or was it a little ~~ ? :-D

Thanks for letting us know.

CT - we did a dry goods shopping like that to get the 10p off voucher! What strange things the woman put back. If it was a main shop, you'd have thought the food items would be the essentials unless she planned to go back later.

YG

The text was just about readable!! When you start on that 'rough stuff' in Somerset, you are fit for nothing after a couple of glasses :-D :-D :-D :-D

You managed to wake me up YG. Do you have to be quite so loud?? :-| :-D

Morning all -

Hope you managed to catch up on your sleep Maz. At least with the 'lift' you'll be able to spend a bit more time at home.
PC did 60 hours last week including Bank Shifts, and she wonders why she is tired?

YG

YG Report 8 Aug 2013 11:21

I am pleased that you have surfaced now. I didn't want to be the only one that had crawled out of my bed :-D :-D :-D :-D

It is quite a nice day here, although some showers are forecast, so I am trying to get a bit of weeding done before the showers!

Hope you have a peaceful shift, Maz. It's nice that Froggy is taking you to save you some time.

60 hours!! That's not funny in any job, but must be even harder in the sort of work that PC does :-( :-(

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Aug 2013 11:31

Not sure what we are doing today. I've suggested that we make a list. The trouble is that all the jobs would be 'big' ones causing upheaval and taking several days :-(
