After a night of broken sleep, it's not unsurprising that Maz nodded off on the settee.

YG will probably have an early night as well after her first day back - it takes a while to get back into the swing of things. A yomp round the Lake sounds a good idea for enforced exercise. OH used to do something similar when he was first diagnosed; it seemed to work.

OH has suggested that we go out for a walk today, but where? Given a choice, he'd go to the nearest Country Park which will be filled with families. Its a bit difficult to get in touch with nature in those conditions.

well i have got the grass cut and the edges ,most of the dreaded ,lol Froggy is around tomorrow so will have a walk somewhere tomorrow i expect

That's three shattered people - LG, Maz, YG when she gets back from first day back at work (a shame she is missing the eye candy), and now probably Det after a long walk.

Admin today for me rather than cutting things back in the garden. Even though we'd just had 'words' yesterday I didn't ask OH to jump in the garden wheelie bin to squash things down as there quite a lot of brambles and nettles in it!

Phoned solicitors about getting Dad's house transferred into my name. I've already downloaded the appropriate forms, but wanted to know the procedures, do I await response from Land Registry then pick up the title deeds from the solicitors? Apparently the solicitors will do it for three fifty + VAT. I almost agreed until I realised that she was quoting £350 rather than £3.50. Will do it myself for the cost of paper, ink and a stamp.

I'm here!! Not too exhausted from my first day back, but I am glad to be home :-D

CT, for that fee I would do it myself as well.

Evening – not too tired. My pedometer said we covered 2.7 miles. Mind you, it seemed much further!!!!

CT, it sounds as if you are keeping your Dad’s house. Phone the Land Registry for advice. My Dad had transferred 50% ownership to me after Mum died. The Solicitor said he was going to do it after a certain period but never did. I didn’t even have to send them a sealed Probate which was just as well, only a DC.

You don’t actually need the Title Deeds unless it isn’t on their system – an address search and c£3.50 will access them.
When I did it a couple of years ago, I also took the opportunity to register my home address for any correspondence against it. Fraudsters have been known to try and have Property transferred to them with out the owner’s knowledge. The system now in place is for the LR to write to the address, or if another address has been registered, to that one to check that it is above board.
