YG Report 20 Aug 2013 19:53

Evening everyone!

The site was really slow last night as well, wasn't it. It nearly drove me mad :-(

Hope you have both had a good day today.

My friend popped in about 6pm, which was a surprise and it was lovely to see her. She isn't enjoying it quite as much this week, but I think it is because she has been asked to do an employee audit and doesn't know half of who's who yet!! She will feel much better when she has her first few weeks over and is becoming more familiar with their systems.

Good evening one and all. Busy, busy blitzing the house :-| Also tidied the garden a bit with the help of the Mini Gooners.

I am getting frustrated with this site going at snails pace again this evening. I might just disappear a while and see if it improves later :-|

I am fed up with it as well, LG, like lots of other members on here. It was really bad last night as well and I still get the dreaded error message every time I post :-( :-(

I've taken about 5 mins to get back on here :-| :-| :-| :-| :-P. Now lets see if I get the error message yet again :-(

I'm logging out and giving up for the night, LG. Hopefully things might be better tomorrow evening.

Sleep well <3 <3

And its still not as good as it ought to be :-( :-|

What a wonderful surprise that your friend dropped by. It must take a while for anyone to get the hang of a new job. It makes me laugh at the jargon HR use - Thinking of Exiting a person rather than making the person redundant.

A womans work is never done - you should know that by now LG :-D

Any more lazy days on the horizon Maz? ;-)

Morning Maz - it was very difficult to post last night on this thread. Normally I get an 'error' message but can back page, go to 'my threads' and see that it has taken.

Last night it didn't even get as far as the error page, with the little wheel keeping on turning. Opening up a new tab and accessing the site again, and hey presto, mine was the last post!

Hope you manage to get some rest tonight :-)

Good afternoon!

Third time / third day lucky for getting back on here, I gave up. I always get the error message when I post, I'm used to that now, but I couldn't even get on any threads or the home page.

We are on speaking terms, even though yesterday I wanted to say something I can't repeat on here. I thought I had done well not asking him to jump in the bin, knowing that the brambles and nettles were underneath the grass cuttings. I managed to squash it down a bit, and made room for more shrubs I'd cut back. The bin was really heavy and I struggled to wheel it out. This morning he told me that the garden looks a mess, shrubs need cutting back. How can he not have not noticed that we can now see two fence panels now that I've got rid of the Kerria shrubs? Once the bin had been emptied, I started on the hedge. He noticed that I'd done the sides, but not the top. There is no way I'm going to stand on top of a ladder with electric hedge trimmers - I may have to follow YG's lead and get some eye candy in!

I followed your advice Det and phoned the Land Registry. It turns out that I can't transfer it because it hadn't been registered in the first place, my parents bought it before the days of compulsory registration. It will cost £70 to register it, and I will need to send off all the old documents I picked up yesterday.

I realised last night that I lost my wedding ring at some point during yesterday. It had become really tight, and I've been wearing it on another finger. I've been retracing my steps today. I was doing Dad's garden yesterday and had put the bin out to be emptied today, but luckily I got down there before it was emptied, and wheeled it back to the garden. I decided to try other places I went to yesterday before I sift through it. The girl at our local shop (ring wasn't found there) said Aww, he could buy you another one, you could renew your vows and go on honeymoon. Pffft! Not after how Steptoe tribute has been lately!

Afternoon CT.

You are having problems you poor thing. When mine says eg it’s getting dusty or the carpet needs a vac, he gets told what to do about it, but then not every one has the same relationship. How would he react if told him how much a gardener would cost??

Can you claim on your contents insurance for the ring, or would the excess not cover the cost? A bit of a b*mmer on top over thing else. Lets hope that it turns up somewhere. Do you have any old gold perhaps recently inherited you could have a replacement made from?

On the upside - At least you’ll be saving £280 by doing a DIY house registering!!!
:-D

Afternoon Det,
The picture isn't as bad as the one I painted, although he is getting more grumpy the older he gets! We have always tried to share jobs, and also do so according to our interests. He enjoys cooking - I don't, I tend to do most of the decorating. I clean the windows regularly, he doesn't notice when they get dirty (our wood burning stove tends to make them worse). I suppose things have changed since I've not been working. I manage to get things washed, dried, ironed and put away by the time he comes home so it probably looks like I haven't done anything all day!

I'm not going to bother claiming on the insurance. I have been wondering what to do with my parents' wedding rings and other jewellery, with regards to how they will eventually get handed down to my two daughters.

I can see my Land Registry situation going on for as long as your tax forms! At least I don't have a deadline to meet, I think it will only become an issue if I decide to sell the house rather than rent it out.

Evening everyone.

Well, there is a very slight improvement, but a long way to go before this site operates efficiently :-( :-( :-(

Oh dear, CT, what a calamity of a week you have had. My ex could never see anything wrong with anything, because he was too b****y lazy to do anything about it. He could never understand why I needed to wash paintwork down or cut the grass again. Don't misunderstand, he would work hard, but had no interest in the house or garden. Computer games, footie and beer were his only hobbies :-( :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 21 Aug 2013 19:16

Evening all, those hobbies sound good to me YG except for the beer. Make that scrumpy and I'll be happy.>>>>>>>>>>>>> ducks and runs ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D.

My OH can be a bit of a Victor Meldrew occasionaly but there again he has to put up with me :-0.

I have had a reasonably busy day doing loads of odd little jobs indoors. Just decided that at the weekend when we have no mini gooners here that the large cupboard in their room is getting a good turn out and then in 2 weeks time when they go again we will redecorate probably red and white ;-)

(as an aside - things seem to be working a lot better now on this site, I hope it has improved for others too!)

CT, don'tn worry about LG's wild threats!! We can still get up to mischief when she dare turn her back again!!

Well, everything has started moving with the refurb work. I had to meet the 'asbestos' man at lunchtime to do testing ready for the electricians. Next week I have to meet the liaison officer to find out what I need to pack and where it's going to go :-0 :-0
They have confirmed the start date as 23rd Sept, 4 wks on Monday.
