YG Report 26 Aug 2013 11:33

Morning everyone.

The sun is coming out again and has burnt off all the mist, so it is going to be a lovely afternoon.

Good idea, DET! Son suggested it a while ago, so it is a thought for next year. Hopefully he will help to put a few bits up there when I have finished sorting things out, so it may be a good opportunity to plant the seed in his mind.

I need to catch up with some ironing today, now that I have done a bit more sorting out. The liaison officer is coming tomorrow lunchtime, so hopefully I will have a much better idea of where the boxes are to be stored and how much I need to pack up in rooms other than the kitchen and bathroom.

Excellent, CT! :-D

Maz - I've just been reading the responses to an article on the BBC site about regenerating Town Centres. Its developed into a free-for-all on using cars v public transport.
So many have said that cycling is not an option and that the buses are few and expensive (unless you are entitled to a free pass)

OH was costing transport to Newcastle next year
Plane - c£135 pp (most of that is tax) + car hire
Train - c£120 pp + car hire
Car - £90 for petrol and carries 4 people.

No brainer really!

Good evening all,

What a massive Phew it was finding my ring. I had a text / e-mail / facebook call out to everyone this morning asking if anyone had a metal detector, and in the meantime started going through my bins. After taking out hedge cuttings, then grass clippings I was head first in the bottom of the wheelie bin when I spotted it at the bottom. At least I didn't have to go through the black bin (dog poo bags!). Thank you for your congratulatory comments! Perhaps I should now try my luck on the Lottery, Maz. Do you think I now need to worry about where OH is YG?!

Hope you sorted things out for packing away YG. Is it about three weeks off now when work begins?

I wasn't a flower power girl Det, and I've only been to one festival and that was just for the day. I worry about getting to the toilets! Youngest has been to a few festivals, and from her I learned about 'she pees' - what a great invention! I was pleased that she was home and safe after one festival where it's customary for tents to be torched on the last day! My era was having David Cassidy as a teen idol (he still hasn't married me :-( ) Then had a wonderful time in Manchester and Liverpool in the late 70's early 80's, punk and quite eclectic.

Off to see Leonard Cohen next weekend. Is it weird that I think that a 78 year old bloke is quite sexy? I've seen him concert a couple of times before, and have been impressed that after he's got down on his knees to sing he can get up again, unaided!

Evening CT. Good news on your ring. Loved camping out at festivals in my yoof. I am a bit too old for all that now. My son goes to lots though and is a bit miffed he had to miss this years Reading Festival

Morning all - Hope you have an interesting but trouble free shift today Maz.

That's reminded me LG - I've a bill that needs paying :-0

When are your various appointments YG? It is this week that you have 2 isn't it?

How did the gardening go this weekend CT? Did him indoors help you out as he was the one to moan?

I think we'll be going out today, either shopping or for a meal. We had to throw away a number of potatoes as they'd gone rotten, and have run out of salad stuffs. :-0

CrystalTips Report 27 Aug 2013 16:50

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone's work / admin / appointments have gone well today. If you went shopping today Det, does that mean you won't go tomorrow? (I only learned last week about your weekly shopping trip)

OH did help in the garden yesterday! He did the top of the hedge, and dug up some potatoes. The leaves were overhanging the path. I hadn't intended planting potatoes there, I chucked some old compost in the border and ended up with potato plants. The potatoes he dug up are quite small, we are going to leave the ones that aren't overhanging the path for a while longer.

The credit card company phoned me today - they have finally 'found' the money which was debited from our bank account in June, and they reckon they have removed all the information which may negatively affect our credit rating.

I've sort of booked a holiday :-D That is I've booked the outbound flight. I'm not doing a Shirley Valentine, I've booked a seat for OH as well. It's amazing for £23 each (and it's not a flight to Egypt), just need to keep an eye out for cheap flights back - and some accommodation! I think friend's apartment is still available though, so I don't think we'll have to sleep on the beach

YG

YG Report 27 Aug 2013 18:13

Evening everyone.

I hope you had a nice meal, if that's what you finally decided on DET.

Well done, CT, getting OH working in the garden yesterday. You didn't bury him in the compost heap afterall! :-D :-D

Don't even ask how my day was. One more like it and I am emigrating :-( :-(
