Good morning - Were do you get your energy from Maz? You put most of us to shame!

Is LG back to delving into the Archives again?

For once we have a busy day; a dentist appointment then a visitor coming this afternoon who I haven't seen for something like 40 years. She was a childhood neighbour and considered me her Big Sister and wanted to meet during a flying visit from her home in the US. It would seem that we have to get the duster out in preparation!

LaGooner Report 9 Sep 2013 11:13

Morning DET no Archives this week as we are doing an event for Heritage Day. I am helping with an open day with tour and talk in the local church.

Just looked in quick and now off to do a bit more of the dreaded before school run later

same here Maz, it started raining here so I had to bring washing in. Then it started thundering so not going to chance pegging it out again. The lawn will have to wait too.

Off to London tonight, been ticking my list off - jobs to do and things to take. Went shopping for handbag for tomorrow (I need one to put flip flops in so I can change my shoes after graduation ceremony) and bought a hat as well, reduced to £5. Don't know if I'll wear it tomorrow.

Called at supermarket on way home, it was cash only - all their till machines were down. Went outside to cash machine which ate my card. Used different card at different cash machine, went back to supermarket to get my shopping and noticed I had a flat tire. Managed to get enough air in to get me to garage, they put more air in so I could get home to pick the dogs up and take them to the kennels.

Got an hour and a half before I set off, need to decide what I'm wearing and pack.

Hope you enjoy your afternoon with your friend and your day out in London Det!

Good grief, CT, what a day!! I am exhausted just reading it. Hope you have a brilliant time in London. It seems to be the 'in place' this week, as DET has a visit planned as well.

We have had a couple of heavy showers here but sunshine most of the day, although there are some dark ones lurking now.

I have to go off to the vets at 5.30 and I don't know what the outcome is going to be. Not at all hopeful as Duffy's back end seems very weak. I am dreading it. :-( :-(

Enjoy your trip to London CT, and try to unwind on the journey down. It's a pity that we are both have busy days tomorrow otherwise we might have been able to meet up for a coffee or two!

My goodness, didn't our visitor talk! Her poor OH couldn't have got a word in edgeways even if he tried. When we tried to include him, she took over. She's extended an open invitation to stay in rural Pennslyvania. OH seems quite interested, but I'm not so sure.

LG the heritage day sounds good .
CT you have had fun hope you enjoy the graduation .A is out doing a hire for a grad somewhere tonight so he is running late and hates missingthe gym when he works late

Aw - (hugs) for YG <3

It will take time to get used to her not being around, but when the refurb is over and done with, enough time might have passed to think about offering a different unwanted fur a new home. <3 <3

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 9 Sep 2013 21:00

Oh YG I am so very sorry to hear the news. We moan about the fur but oh how we love them. <3 <3 <3 <3.

CT it sounds as if you had a very trying time but have a wonderful time.

Enjoy your trip to the smoke DET.

Same as my washing Maz, we had rain and Thunder earlier.

Evening Maz.

DET and CT are in London living it up!! I don't know where LG is hiding, unless she is rummaging in Derek's archives again, or perhaps the Local History Society :-D :-D

I have come home to a letter saying that they are starting the work next Monday now, not the 23rd as originally advised, so I have really got to get my skates on now to finish the packing. There won't be any done tonight. I have had a really rough day and am shattered, so I think perhaps a warm bath and an early night are in order. I am just hoping that R can make it this weekend to take down the stuff that I can't. He won't be too pleased as he is leaving home at 4.30am on Friday morning to drive down to Epsom for a meeting doesn't finish till 6pm so he won't be home until around 10.30pm Hopefully by Sunday he will be feeling a little more refreshed to come and do the odds and ends for me.

hi YG Sooner started sooner finished we would hope lol Hope its not too traumatic and it will be over before the c word is mentioned.

YG

YG Report 10 Sep 2013 19:25

True, Maz, although the bedroom won't be decorated by then, as it needs some time to dry out properly after they have damp proofed. As I only sleep in it it's not a real hardship and will give me chance to get some more cash together to do it!!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 10 Sep 2013 19:53

Evening - we're back! Actually we got off the train about 4.30, just as the rain reached us & the car. That was good timing.

The Exhibition was interesting and despite the timed ticket entry still crowded. As OH has a 'thing' about Imperial Rome and the Roman Empire in general, we had a quick wander around the Roman artifact room as well. I'd have liked to have gone somewhere else for a sightsee as we were in London, but OH wanted to get home. I must admit it was good to sit down in our own comfy chairs!

Sorry to hear you've had another rough day YG. Hopefully a good rest will set you up for tomorrow. Him-in-doors says a squirt of WD40 does wonders for stubborn screws if you are left to your own devices! Could one of your friends lend you a muscular male if your son is unlikely to make it at the weekend? :-D
