You will enjoy it, LG.

I am off for a bath and bed as soon as the programme finishes. I overlaid heavily this morning, waking at 7.19am and had to be at work at 8am :-S :-S It is many years since I laid in like that, so something tells me I need sleep :-( :-(

I will catch you tomorrow evening hopefully.

Sleep well <3 <3

Here I am!!!

Morning LG, and CT if she is back home.

Maz must be trying to keep her eyes open at her training course, and YG slaving away at her desk.

YG you’ve done really well with your packing – when are the HA boxes supposed to arrive? If the recipients of the wardrobes don’t turn up, you’ll have to smash them up and re-advertise as firewood. It will be a shame, but there they go.

Did you enjoy your chat LG? As long as you weren’t paying for it – lol.
With a bit of luck, littlest will get tired out in the morning and fall asleep in the afternoon. The things we do for our own children, eh?

We’re supposed to be hedge hacking today. Unfortunatly its still rather dank out side. Fingers crossed it brightens up by mid morning.

We didn’t get to see the end of WDYTYA as PC dropped round – never heard of Sarah Milligan.
We put the Sky box on pause to watch a programme which started at 10, then it got its knickers in a twist and we lost it. OH waited until he thought the programme that was already recording had finished before resetting the box…………except he didn’t wait long enough and we lost the ‘whodunit’ bit right at the end!!! We’ll have to check if its on iPlayer and whizz through to the last 5 minutes.

LOL - thought about altering her diet??? Too many hidden sugars or the dreaded E numbers??

Or is she terribly bright and needs age appropriate intellectual fullfillment?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 12 Sep 2013 10:30

The latter DET. Mummy believes in a very healthy diet for all of them. I was the same when I was little and so was H.

CrystalTips Report 12 Sep 2013 12:48

Good afternoon all!

I was worried on Monday about things coming in threes, and forgetting train tickets. Well things do come in threes, but luckily the third happened before I set off. I went in the loft after I'd taken the dogs to the kennels to get a suitcase, and decided to decant dog food from the big bag up there into plastic containers. I dropped one of them - dog food all over the landing, but hurrah! Got the third over with! (I'm not usually superstitious)

Didn't arrive home until just after 1 a.m. this morning, we missed the train we were booked on by a matter of seconds, but luckily we were allowed on the one after. That was delayed by 30 mins which meant we had missed the last tram so had to get a bus then taxi.

Had a wonderful couple of days! It was amusing to watch so many parents adjust their offspring's attire pre-ceremony. One young man, who was about 2 feet taller than his Mum, dutifully stood there whilst she reached up to adjust the knot in his tie.

Then (free flowing!) champagne and canapes in the marquee and on the lawn, jazz band playing. Downloaded an app on my phone as recommended by daughter's friend, which gave me free £35 taxi credit. When it arrived we were looking for a car with taxi plates - no - it was a chauffeur driven car which cost us nothing! The Bentley was already booked out apparently, so we got the Mercedes. Really swanky! :-D

Dinner at The Ritz, yes THE Ritz! (I found a special offer so it wasn't full price, but still we were pushing the boat out) It was worth it for an end to her special day, to see her face and hear her screeching when I told her where we had booked! Memories are priceless.

Yesterday we had a mooch around Greenwich, at lunch time a man struck up a conversation with us, and because of how the conversation was going I was afraid that he was a certain GR member, but my mind was put at rest when he ascertained where he now lives ;-) Then a boat trip to see the Lowry exhibition at The Tate.

YG

YG Report 12 Sep 2013 18:30

Wow, what a time you have had, CT!! Dinner at the Ritz as well :-) :-) I hope we don't have to pay to speak to you now, mixing with the hoi polloi!!

I am sure your daughter has worked very hard and thoroughly deserved the treat.

Packing is almost done. Met with the foreman this lunchtime who has brought a large board to hang on the door giving all the information the workmen and I need to see us through. They are hoping to finish a couple of days earlier than they expected, so fingers crossed. They won't be disturbing the lounge other than to wire one additional socket next to those already there, so no mess there. They will also take up the carpet tiles in the kitchen as they are going in the skip anyway. Apparently they sort out the skips and recycle as much as they can so hopefully they will be put to good use.

I am going to phone the guy about the wardrobes tonight and if I still don't get a day and time from him, there is someone else that wanted them, if it's not too late. They are too good to demolish, DET.

You sound as if you had a wonderful time CT - and congratulations to your daughter. She must be over the moon to have letters after name to reflect the last three years of blood, sweat, panic and tears.
Lunch at the Ritz, eh? Thats deffinately one up on Tea at the Ritz :-D

As an (cough) old hand at Graduation Ceremonies, did she have enough safety pins and hair grips? Mums role seems to be tugging the hood down and pinning it to bras/waistbands or shirts!!!!! :-D :-D

Great news about the meeting YG - with a list in place, at least you'll know what to expect each day. Have you chosen the kitchen tiles and paint yet??

YG

YG Report 12 Sep 2013 20:56

Evening Maz and DET.

What a shame that you found the course a tad boring, but at least you have an insight into the paperwork trail before you take on the 4 day course.

I have phoned the guy about the wardrobes and he is coming tomorrow night to dismantle them, and then either Saturday or Sunday to collect. Cutting it a bit fine, but hopefully will work out in the end.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 12 Sep 2013 21:04

At least the wardrobes will be out of the house one way or another by the end of the weekend!

Never mind about the Autism course - perhaps your Manager wants someone else to know how to fill up the forms?

People with Autism can be completely different from each other - that's why its called a Spectrum disorder. One lad I've worked with in a main stream school had a very high IQ and looked down his nose at everyone else. He had a very large 'personal space' and hated to be touched.
Another one wasn't so bright, but was friendly and could get emotional. He invaded your own space before he learned otherwise!

LaGooner Report 12 Sep 2013 21:55

It sounds as though your wardrobes are sorted at last. I am sorting out bedding etc over the weekend for son who is moving into his flat. I always seem to collect loads in the airing cupboard

YG

YG Report 12 Sep 2013 22:03

You can send some over here, LG!! I'm always short of bedding!!

The good news today though, was that the bedroom wall isn't going to take anywhere near as long to dry afer the damp proofing as I was told, so I can get it decorated and then I will be buying a whole new set of bedding!! I've seen what I want. Whether I will be able to afford it is another matter altogether :-D :-D

Same here, LG!! But >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> one has to dream, doesn't one!!

Must dash off now under the duvet. Friday tomorrow thank goodness. I still feel as though I could sleep for a fortnight. My colleague even sent me a text this morning at 7am to make sure I was up :-( :-(

Sleep well. I will hopefully catch you tomorrow evening <3
