+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Sep 2013 10:34

Morning all –

We’ve bright sunlight and a bit of a breeze at the moment. The most recent forecast says that the rain won’t reach us until early evening. OH might be annoyed as I dragged him out for a dump run between yesterday’s showers followed by a coffee and cake at the garden centre. We bought 6 forced hyacinths the planting of which will be today’s task.

Well done for talking (edit - Talking? Where did that come from? Tackling more likley!) behind the wardrobe YG. Thank goodness he turned up when he said he would. Only a few more bits to do and you’ll be all ready. Why are you cleaning the floor? It will be even more of a mess by the time they’ve finished!

It doesn’t seem that Maz has a roast on today. Boo Hoo. Hope you have a quiet shift and that they aren’t hyper when they get back. Have you done a free BNA search on here for newspaper articles? They go up to 1949. If there is anything that looks as if it might be relevant, I’m happy to take a look.

If a 3 piece suite as been removed from LG’s house, does this mean that you’re getting a new one, or has H’s been donated??

YG Report 15 Sep 2013 12:07

I'm not cleaning the floor, DET!! I'm cleaning the oven, or should I say, I have now cleaned the oven :-) :-) :-) It will be covered through the day and protected and I can't face doing it when they have finished. I don't mind doing the outside, it's the inside of the oven that I hate doing and that won't get dirty again.

The only floor I am cleaning is the bathroom!! Not out of choice, I might add!! I have to remove the carpet tiles as they are going back down afterwards, and the fitter used a light adhesive when he fitted them, knowing they had to be taken up again and said would be ok, but it is leaving a heavy residue on the floor that you can't walk on without sticking firmly to it :-( :-( I have found the solution! WD40 and a scraper works wonders :-D :-D

Let the fun begin tomorrow :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

Evening all, no it is not my suite moved DET. I wouldn't part with this one :-D :-D. H's has moved home so lovely bit of space in the shed for more rubbish ;-) ;-) ;-).

We have just had Roast pork, yummy stuff :-D :-D :-D.

Well done for getting on so well YG, now to wait for all the dust to settle before you can get clean again. It is a good excuse for not doing any housework :-0 :-D :-D

YG Report 15 Sep 2013 20:09

Evening LG

I can fill the space in your shed, if you are stuck for something to put in it!! :-D :-D

I am done and ready now. Just got to move the microwave, kettle and toaster into the lounge in the morning before I go to work, then it is all theirs :-) :-)

I have to admit that I haven't got an ounce of energy left. I am exhausted. It wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't brought the date forward at such short notice. But hey ho, I've got there.

I have to go for another eye injection next Tuesday, but at least the work that day will be clean work fitting the kitchen units and there will only be one fitter, so I can rest up without any problems :-)

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 15 Sep 2013 20:19

Oh thank goodness you will get your rest in after the injection. I am glad we are not having the job done as dust plays havoc with OH's eyes.

YG

YG Report 15 Sep 2013 20:44

Is your OH still having injections, LG? I just hate them :-( :-( :-(

Evening all,

I think Maz is on a late / sleep tonight hence us all having to cook our own teas.

It's been flipping cold all day (by my standards anyway) and it has rained incessantly since about 8 this morning. I feel sorry for everyone involved in the Great North Run if the weather has been the same there.

My flip flops (still struggling with other footwear because of broken toes) are still squelching - had to keep nipping out to fill the water butt with from a watering can strategically placed under a broken downspout, yet another job to sort out.

Finally booked somewhere to stay for our holiday next week, I don't know if you remember that first of all I booked flight out, then quite a while after I booked a return flight once they had dropped in price, anyway, just sorted the middle bit out. I hope I can find wi-fi to keep up to speed with what you lot are up to!

Evening CT!!

Don't go breaking any more toes, or there won't be any holiday!!! Flip flops in rain are not good! I know, I speak from experience!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Evening all!

I've written so much tonight, (on another thread) then deleted it all. It's all out of my system anyway, and at least I'm not feeding anyone anything. I wish we had a cyber pet emoticon we could launch in times of turmoil!

Been aqua planing on my flip flops, the weather did brighten up for a short while, but is now developing into a 'batten down your hatches' situation. Hope it's not too bad for all of you.

Kindle and bedtime for me (did you manage to load the books I sent you YG?)

'night all, catch up with you tomorrow <3

Morning all!

Hope you managed to wash off the WD40 - we don’t want you going for a slide if you get up in the middle of the night. I bet you wondered what chaos you’ll come home to in the next couple of weeks!

Sorry about Tea Maz. It was a ‘get it yourself’ day in our house.

Have a wonderful time away next week CT. You’re so brave not booking it all at once. We were under the impression that flight costs went up closer to the departure date, not down!

Today I think we’re clearing/tidying the shed and putting away the garden furniture. That’s the end of summer. :-(

YG Report 16 Sep 2013 18:25

Evening everyone.

yes, I did manage to clean the floor, DET. A bit of a waste of time as they have stripped all the tiles off the floor!! I wasn't expecting that, but good as a new floor will be laid :-) :-)

I think their plans have gone a bit haywire as they were supposed to be paper stripping today as well as other jobs. They have stripped the cupboards and worktops out and all the tiles plus the tiles in the bathroom. Holes have been knocked through to outside ready for the extractor fans, so they are stuffed with plastic bags at the moment. The kitchen sink, toilet and bath were left covered in brick dust which have had to be cleaned before I could do anything else!! At least I have the top of the washer and dish washer to use as prep areas at the moment and fortunately they did cover them with protective covers, so all in all, not as bad as I expected it to be tonight :-) :-)

Three weeks if it all goes to plan :-( :-(

Ignore the wash basket!! I am ignoring my ironing basket, although I have done a load of washing tonight.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 16 Sep 2013 20:55

Evening - thats the problem with re-fits. It has to get worse before it gets better. At least they are trying to get all the destruction done at once.
It's a bit 'jobsworth' for them not to give the bath, basin and toilet a rinse. :-|

We've cleared out the shed and repacked it with the garden table. Then it started to rain so the chairs are still out covered in plastic; we have to empty the understairs cupboard to get them put away.

I've brought in-doors one of the small potted tomatoes to ripen up in the spare room. As I've discovered we haven't used the green tomatoes from last year, I'm hoping that some still outside will ripen up.

The heating is on - Summer is over :-(

YG

YG Report 16 Sep 2013 21:39

Evening DET. Well done on the storage for the winter. Get that cupboard cleared out for the chairs, there's a good girl!!

On the other hand, we could have an Indian summer in October :-D :-D :-D :-D

Dare I ask what condition last year's tomatoes were in :-D :-D :-D
