NOt had too much luck but we have found a load of census and background material as they are all local to us. We need info for next years History Society Celebrations.

Morning all -

No, haven't been hibernating, although thats quite a good idea! It won't start raining here until later.

OH has suggested that I join our local FHS, but they meet on a Saturday morning and we all know that I'm not very good at getting up and running!
The one more relevant to my father is further down the county. They meet in the evening, but I'm not too keen about going out after dinner. It's because of the rush and upset in routine rather than driving in the dark.

Just nipping in to say hello and wish you all well. My Internet has been off again, had line tested etc - long story! Will try and catch up later, sorry I'm in a panic and haven't read any of your recent postings. I'm not away on hols until Sunday, but now that I'm back online (temporarily?) I need to check in and print out my tickets. Hopefully will catch up soon. <3

DET don't the society give the help we do for people that cannot or don't want to attend. We do look ups and photocopies of photos, documents etc. That is my job and this week I have been helping a fella from just the next village with his family research , he wanted photos which I have found and copied at a small charge. I have also had a request for 2 newspaper articles all the way from a fella in Australia who has Biggleswade ancestor. I have found one aricle he wanted which I have printed off ready to send but I have got to dig out the other one next week.

evening all, a wierd day of weather here just getting my admin organised again am in at work for a couple of hours tomorrow for a team meeting so will get tea organised shortly

Evening - I think its his turn to cook, so will have a play until then (or not)

Poor CT - you must have felt as if your right hand had been cut off. It always seems to happen at the wrong time. Get in quick to do what you must :-D

LG - I've no idea what the local FHS get up to. We did bump into a member when we were with Eldest, but there was a disciplinary action going on at their mutual place of work so it was best not to follow through with that. (The FHS member was not involved, but was friends with the person who was)

Fingers crossed that Maz meeting will be short and sweet. Pinch yourself if you feel you are nodding off :-D

Has the FHS got a website, worth a look. Ours is very informative of our events, publications etc. Also got a link to photopin with loads of old photos of the town

DET, I don't want to go out once I get home from work. I hate it more as each year goes by. A sure sign of old age for me :-D :-D

I ditched you all last night, I'm afraid. The bed looked too inviting, although it didn't work out that way. I was wide awake at 3.15 so am feeling rather jaded tonight :-D :-D

I'm ok, thanks, LG, although tired.

Still, the first week almost over. Electrics are in, plastering tomorrow and Monday, so onwards and upwards from there. That should be the last of the dirty mess :-S :-S

I expect you will be glad when it's all done. Only trouble I found was that the place got very very dusty for about 3 weeks after they finished.

Oooh, there's plenty of dust , that's for sure!!

I think it is going to cost me more I thought just to get basics put right, before I even think about decorating.

I will need a carpet fitter to re-fit the bedroom carpet and I'm not sure what painting will need to be done.

I have a contract for carpet & suite cleaning, so that's not a problem as I pay by direct debit. They are due to come again mid December, but I will see if I can bring it forward a little.

Lets hope you won't have too many extras to buy. Again if I lived nearer I would refit your carpet for you :-D

Are you good at carpet fitting, LG!! But what about your bad knees!! How would you manage to use a kicker :-( :-(

I have ways and means YG . I have laid all the carpets in ours and the families houses. :-D

Yep sure am. I do all the DIY around here. OH does all the electrical and mechanical that's his department LOL. My dad taught me how to wallpaper at a very young age
