Morning all - we both went to bed very late after watching a Dan Brown film on TV. Goodness knows when OH will surface! He wants us to wash down the walls in this room. If he gets up too late there won't be enough time to make much progress, but we could pack away the lose stuff - I'm hoping that he won't disconnect the computer :-0

Hope you enjoy your meal out with the grand' today YG, and the sore throat/cold doesn't spoil it. You're lucky that she wants to spend time with you - our parents found it difficult to make the transition from treating them as children to treating them as adults. Mind you, I did have an 'Aunt' who was wonderful at that.

Is it a child free weekend LG, or will you have the patter of tiny feet around?

No, I haven't just surfaced, although I did sleep in for a while :-D :-D I have been pottering doing odd jobs and the washing. The weather is going to be reasonable this afternoon before tomorrow's awful forecast, so made the most of it :-D :-D

Just sitting having a late brekkie before tackling the food shopping.

Gd has just sent a text to say that she can't go to boyfriend's for the afternoon as he has misbehaved, so I am picking her up in town at 3pm. This should be fun :-D :-D

DET, hope your OH has surface and donned rubber gloves to wash the walls down. Don't let him touch the computer :-D :-D

There are so many arguments between gd and parents at the moment. I have a sneaky suspicion that she may have been repeating some of the things I have said to her, but I am past caring tbh. I know she is trying to play everyone against each other, but she has told me a couple of things that are sticking in my gullet. There is no love lost between dil and me anyway, so no big loss

Teenagers do try playing one against the other it seems to be a popular hobby with some of them. ;-). I have been getting a couple of snippets of news from the mini Gooners about Daddy's GF. One of which yesterday I nearly choked laughing but had to restrain myself so they did not go today and say Nanna was in hysterics :-D

The little ones will always come out with honest comments. They don't know any different at that age, do they. If what they say makes you laugh, then all the better, LG. At least you are not getting uptight about anything, hopefully.

I am off now. Felt pretty crabby most of the day, but managed to pick up somewhat before we went out, although I would have much preferred to stay on the sofa!! A cold is definitely taking hold, just when I have lots of things to do.

I languished in bed for a short while, but having been doing some jobs. Just had brekkie and ready to start again. I need to clean the window frame in the kitchen before they come to put the blind up again tomorrow and I will be sooooooo pleased when it is up and I can have some privacy again :-D :-D

You are quite right, DET!! Why buy tools when you can borrow Dad's :-D :-D I usually borrow R's, but am building up a reasonable collection myself with all this DIY :-( :-(

We’ve started to clear out this ‘ere back room in preparation for washing down. OH got himself in a right two-and-eight about transferring ‘his’ things to ‘his’ ‘electronics room’ (aka PC’s empty bedroom)
Despite it being a house with large rooms, we don’t have that much in the way if cupboard space – many things tend to get stuffed into corners. :-(

I do occasionally have nights of insomnia and it was just one of those :-P :-| :-| :-|. No Archive today I have been to the library to do some research in the old newspapers for the area. Typical though the one month of the paper I wanted is not on the fiche :-| :-| :-|. I will now have to visit the Main Library in Bedford to see it as I have a fella in Australia waiting for a copy of a letter from it.
