Morning all - hope the clients are pleased to see you back at work Maz, and don't play up. PC always says they crowd round her if she's been off for a while, tell her their news and try and quiz her about her absence.

Good luck with your furniture hunting - we intend to replace a sofa bed from this room. Not only is it uncomfortable & stained, it is also ingrained with fumes from our nasty habit. We were thinking of a couple of small easy chairs, possibly from the Heart Foundation charity shop if they have anything suitable, and an air bed for occasional overnight visitors if the other beds are full. I'd love to get rid of everything inhere and start again, but its not going to happen :-0

Morning everyone.

~~~~~~~~~ to Mersey on this lovely bright sunny morning :-) :-) <3 <3
It's not good going back to work, Maz, is it! I am dreading Monday. Still haven't got everything done, but I'll get there eventually :-) :-)
Just off to hang some washing out and then a shower. The young gardener that comes now is jet washing the paths today and if I have time after he has been I am going to see about the wardrobes for the bedroom. If not, then that is a chore for tomorrow!
Enjoy your day whatever you are doing today :-) :-)
Hi YG you are right there about the weather it is gawgusssssss :-D
YG
YG Report 24 Oct 2013 20:42
It has been lovely, but it didn't dry the washing. I guess those days are gone now for a few months :-( :-(
I went to sort out the wardrobes, so can stay at home tomorrow and finish cleaning the lounge. It is starting to feel as though the house is mine again, although I still have a few boxes hanging in there until the bedroom is done :-D :-D
Has everyone emigrated again? I know Maz is at work, but where are DET and LG hiding? :-D
Present and Correct YG, although emigrating to a warmer clime would be nice
Good to hear that you are making your house your home again. :-)
Still surrounded by plastic sheeted furniture, but at least the PC hasn't been disconnected. I did have a bit of a turn when the monitor wouldn't light up - I'd caught my foot in its lead while crawling around rubbing down skirting boards.
Off to have a sit down somewhere comfy, rather than a dining room chair - the office chair is marooned in the middle of the pile!
Hi DET. You are doing the job I should be doing in the lounge . You and YG are putting me to shame :-D :-D :-D
YG Report 24 Oct 2013 22:21
Evening both!!
Well done on the progression of the painting, DET!!
A friend visited this evening, so only managed to eat at about 8.30pm, but as I haven't seen her since August, it was really good to have a catch up. Her daughter has been poorly and is waiting to go into hospital to have her gall bladder removed. As she lives with my friend and has an 18 month old toddler, it has been quite hard going as she has been in and out of hospital 3 times in the last few weeks.
On a very sad note, she was telling me that a colleague who we both used to work with has lost both her mother and father on the same day. Her mother was in a hospice suffering from cancer. Her dad (who to all intents and purposes was fit and well) was found dead last Thursday morning and her mother died later the same day. I can't comprehend how she is coping with it. :-0
Oh dear YG poor soul. What a shock my heart goes out to her. <3, Hoping the other lady gets all sorted soon and back into good health. I have had good news from a friend who has now had an all clear for her cancer and encouraging news from the other very close poorly friend. She is to undergo a bone marrow transplant which will mean that hopefully she will not need chemo for at least 4 to 5 years.
YG
YG Report 24 Oct 2013 22:52
I'm pleased that your friend is doing well, LG. Let's hope that the bone marrow works well for her.
LaGooner
LaGooner Report 24 Oct 2013 22:54
I hope so too. She looks so much better and is much more positive. Unfortunately the type of cancer she has is incurable but they can keep her ticking over comfortably.
YG
YG Report 24 Oct 2013 23:06
Let's hope that they can do that for a good few years, LG.
I'm off to bed now, ready for another busy day tomorrow.
Sleep well and I'll catch you tomorrow hopefully at some point.
+++DetEcTive+++ Report 25 Oct 2013 09:01
Morning all.
How awful for YG’s ex colleague. It’s upsetting enough for one parent to die even when she knew the end was near, but for the other parent to die suddenly?
Good news about both of LG’s good friends. Assuming the bone marrow transfusion works, she’ll be able to make a good dent in her ‘wish list’ of things to do or see.
No Maz over night – her clients must have kept her busy!
~~~ to Mersey in anticipation of a flying visit.

Just realized that it was our 38th Wedding Anniversary last week - and all we were interested in was the delivery of a new wheelie bin. Although we wouldn't have done anything to celebrate, we both clean forgot! :-0 :-D

YG Report 25 Oct 2013 09:59

Morning everyone.

It is wet, windy and horrible here. I had a bit of a lay-in but just reading, not sleeping. I would have been up earlier, but it was so dark, even at 8am. At least the clocks go back this weekend, so we will have lighter mornings for a while to help me rise from my slumbers :-D :-D

Good morning

I'm sorry to hear all your bad news :-(

Going back to Det's question - I'm with Talk Talk, but not for much longer! Someone was doing door-to-door yesterday, it's a local ISP with UK based support so I signed up, but there is a 14 day cooling off period in case I change my mind.
