evening all ,am just waiting for all the broomsticks to land here from various parties ,
GF has registered on the supply lists she was thinking of volunteering at the local school to keep her confidence up.

Evening all. Typical CT we had that happen at the eye hospital :-| :-| :-|. Hope she does find something Maz she could also try volunteering to help at a childrens group such as Brownies who always need help.

Did you make it to the charity shop, DET?? If I had known you were going, you could have taken my bag for me!! I mist admit that I am waiting for the next one to drop through the letterbox, as long as it is one of the main charities.

We have measured up for the wardrobes, I am just waiting for the quote now.

Next Wednesday afternoon will be a bit hectic. The bedroom carpet is being refitted, the council are attending to a small leak on the boiler and the damp proofing surveyor is going to inspect the damp patch on the kitchen wall. I am taking 2 hours toil owed to me so that I can be home for 2pm. On Monday the council are coming to do the guttering and check a ridge tile that has lost some cement, so it is 'all go' :-D :-D I will be as snug as a bug in a rug by the time I have finished with this lot :-D :-D

Well done to A's gf for carrying on her Saturday work. Hopefully a full time permanent position will turn up for her soon. Sounds as though as she deserves it :-) :-)

I've had two lots of bell ringing tonight, but I ignored it :-D :-D I think quite a few children have been at the pub for a halloween party and they have called on their way back home with their Mums. It is the first time I have been bothered for about 3 years, but as the pub has a new landlord they are trying out different things, so I had better get used to it. I just wish they would all shut the gate behind them :-D :-D :-D

I will be busy, but it will be worth it.

I was getting worried about the damp patch in the kitchen and the liaison officer had left me a note on Tuesday saying the surveyors would write to let me know when they were coming. There was a letter today saying they had been trying to contact me for over a week, and the builders had given them a wrong number :-( :-( Once they have surveyed, they will contact the builders, so I don't know what the result will be. I am hoping the surveying company will agree to do the work and that it is not referred back to the council.

Good luck with that YG I do hope it will be done properly for you. We had our boiler serviced a few days ago, and guess what . It packed up today :-|. Why oh why does it happen , this is not the first time. :-|

It becomes very frustrating, doesn't it? I didn't have a leak on mine at all until they did all the work, but they are saying it is not their doing. I am very surprised at how quickly they are coming out to repair it as it is only a very slow drip. I am also glad that I don't have to pay for all these repairs!!

Off to bed now.

Morning all - what a palaver YG. As you say, if you had to pay for all the work that has or is being doneon your home, it would have cost your thousands. Lets hope that the damp problem is a simple fix and not one which involves digging up the floor!

LG - as your boiler keeps breaking down, has it come to the end of its useful life (10 years average)? Can't you persuade the council to replace it? At least its only 'cool' at the moment.

How frustrating CT to get all worked up and then for it not to happen. Fingers crossed that you don't have to wait so long for the re-appointment.

No 'visitors' here last night - we go into lock-down mode :-D

I went to bed to read last night after my fourth visit from trick or treaters (there was only one child I had seen before). Closed the blinds, got my Kindle and went upstairs. Promptly fell asleep. Hence me waking up at 3.30 this morning. Not sure who had the trick or the treat!
