Just been reminded of something, I may post a link. How long will I be out of action for if I get RR'd? Would I be able to still send receive P.M.'s?

YG

YG Report 2 Nov 2013 17:02

LG, you can send your laundry if you wish, but it will finish up as wet as mine :-D :-D Itt was drying nicely and I shot off to the supermarket when I got back from town. BIG MISTAKE :-( :-( The heavens opened just as I parked the car and I had to sit and wait until it eased off before I could even get in the supermarket. RESULT?? Washing was dripping on the line when I got back :-D :-D

I managed to get the bedding and bought a new duvet as well!! Bought gd's birthday present and also managed to get a couple of C presents. I know >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> it's not the 1st Dec yet, but a girl has to start somewhere :-D :-D

Morning!

Glad it was 'pleasant' YG :-0

Maz - please could I have extra roasties instead of lamb? I haven't eaten it since I fed one with a bottle about 20 years ago

YG Report 3 Nov 2013 08:48

Morning everyone.

The sun is shining, although it is rather chilly and breezy, but at least the washing will dry :-D :-D

I'm just getting ready for my roast dinner at 2pm. I don't eat much lamb nowadays, although I do succumb (with a guilty conscience!) to a couple of chops occasionally!! Years ago, when we lived in Cornwall, there was a field of lambs near where we lived and we used to shortcut through on the walk into town. One of the lambs had severely deformed front legs and couldn't walk. I sent OH home for some milk and fed him, with tears streaming down my face . Of course, OH couldn't resist reminding me of where he was going to finish up :-D :-D

morning all ,
Lol i chose lamb as it was best value as a joint of meat i dont see the animals outside .The Romney marshes are full of them,as are the Pevensey marshes ,it has always been one of my favourite dishes .

Morning all – (unpacks folding chair and bags first place in the queue)

CT – if you’re still need meat to get your teeth into, you can have some of our pork this evening!

I love Lamb but refuse to pay the price for it now-a-days unless we can find some with a little yellow sticker. With the price so low at market, it would probably be cheaper to buy one there then arrange for it to be slaughtered and butchered. If everyone stopped eating raised-for-slaughter animals our landscape would change out of recognition. The cows use their long tongues to tear and eat the tall grass then the sheep come along and nibble the shorter grass. In addition, the only ones which would remain would be in zoos. Growing up close to/in a farming community, it was all part of our Primary School education!

YG - Despite the frosty reception by the d-i-l, I hope the time with the Grands made up for it. Is there any particular reason why she doesn’t make you welcome?

Good to hear that you are nice and warm again now LG. We are having a new return valve fitted tomorrow – currently the ‘CH’ heats the water in the tank, and the ‘Water’ heats up the radiators! We couldn’t work out why they were getting hot when the CH wasn’t on during the summer. :-|

Good morning all.

A pleasant time for you YG that was lovely :-D.

I have no qualms about any meat as long as it is not killed for just sport or fur etc. We all have to eat to survive. Having a son who is a Master Butcher I see and hear all sorts ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D.

Dry and sunny here with quite a breeze so first lot in the washer now.

LaGooner Report 3 Nov 2013 09:46

You appeared while I was typing DET. The same valve was one of our problems though I am not too sure what the other one does :-S.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 3 Nov 2013 09:51

Morning LG - valves aside, we've been told that 'modern' boilers only have a lifetime of about 10 years. We're coming up to that now, so....??? :-0 :-0
Ours tends to fail in January and coincides with a cold spell. Then it takes a minimum of 10 days to get the engineer out, for him to order the parts, return and fit them. :-(

Goodness well mine is well over it's sell by date. I seem to recall it was put in about 18 years ago

In answer to CT's query re a link - if someone has to make a deliberate descision to follow it. On that basis, nothing contentious is actually being posted!
