We will leave here lunch time today and are staying in a hotel in Crewe overnight, have to be at the airport hotel to leave the car at 11am tomorrow morning. Daughter and partner are driving down tomorrow, they are not a lot closer than us but it is an easier journey, not so many motorway roadworks.

Evening all, Oh dear Maz has Sweetpea visited you ;-) :-D :-D. I thought we had banished the little B****r :-|,
We came home from shopping and went out into the garden. We have just eaten and sat down for the evening

Maz, at the back of the router at the bottom in the corner is a wee hole. If you stick a pen nib or a needle in for a few seconds it resets it.

YG Report 2 Jun 2018 18:52

Evening everyone :-)

It has been a strange day weather wise. Murky this morning after overnight rain, then I thought we were in for a real storm around 11.30ish, but although it went quite dark and absolutely persisted it down for half an hour, it passed over and we have had sunshine this afternoon :-0

Feeling very 'not motivated' today, so did the food shop this afternoon and that was it :-0 :-0

Maz, I hope I didn't jinx the router saying that I hoped it would be ok:-( I bet Sweet Pea has been lurking in LG's shed and has decided to start his travels again for the summer :-D :-D

DET, I hope your back is feeling more comfortable this evening :-)

LG, you must have had resonable weather today if you have been in the garden this afternoon! I think R is coming tomorrow, weather permitting to cut the grass and then I will maybe have to give it another cut before the gardener comes at the end of the month, or borrow Maz's neighbour's pony :-D

It has been warm and sunny here YG. Both lawns cut, a bit more pruning and a general tidy round.

YG Report 2 Jun 2018 19:25

To be honest, I didn't mind the heavy rain, apart from the problem of it washing off the moss from the roof tiles that blocked the drain covers, the garden breathed a huge sigh of relief!! It is lovely now, so I hope it stays good tomorrow. I need to take out the dead aubretia and a load of aquilegias that are dropping seeds everywhere and I will be overrun with them next year otherwise.

I just cannot get into unmentionables at the moment. I think really because the whole place needs decorating, a new carpet in the lounge and bedroom and a new suite and I don't want to spend the money :-D :-D :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 2 Jun 2018 19:31

That is a problem with decorating isn't it.Other things look shabby so they need to be replaced :-D :-D

Definitely a time for gardening once the soil is malleable. Make the most of good weather; it won’t last for ever.

Maz, how annoying to end up with a non functioning router. At least you have some sort of connection for the time being. What’s the betting they’ll try to phone while you’re at work??

The back’s OK now. It does tend to lock itself up first thing in the morning, hence having to take things slowly until it’s eased off.

We went to the garden centre for a replacement basket liner. The original was being nicked for nest building! The tomato plants have been replanted & I’ve dug up a few wall flowers out of the neighbours garden at her request. She says she loves her garden but can’t recognise she isn’t coping. Tomorrow I’ve offered to dig up & pot on a few self seeded primroses. She can’t bend down to do it.
The ironing is still sitting there :-D

YG

YG Report 2 Jun 2018 20:37

The ironing can wait until it's raining, DET :-D :-D :-D

Cheeky little birds, nesting in the basket liner, but then it will be nice and cosy for them :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 2 Jun 2018 21:01

I was watching our resident robin hunting around where we were working. He is so tame and was delighted with all the insects and bugs we gave him. He is now busy pecking up the mealworms and feeding his brood which we can here in the nest.
I throw out the cat hair when I clean out their brush for the nesting material

YG

YG Report 2 Jun 2018 21:31

How come the robin is still around LG? Don't they migrate through the summer? Mine always disappears, although he is nowhere near as tame as yours. It could be because the local cats are always prowling in the garden and sit watching the hedge as they know that's where they are :-( :-(

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 2 Jun 2018 21:42

No he is here all the year round. He spends most of his summer in the garden with me seeing what I offer him for lunch :-D :-D :-D. He will feed from my hand now as he seems to know I will do him no harm :-D :-D :-D.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 2 Jun 2018 22:09

Try putting out dried mealworms YG they love them. Ours cannot resist scoffing them and will see off other birds to get more than his fair share.
