Do you ever think they will come back :-S :-D :-D

YG Report 3 Jun 2018 22:23

Put it this way, LG, I'm not holding my breath :-D :-D :-D :-D

Well I must away to bed. Back to the grind tomorrow and a full five day week :-( :-( :-(

Sleep well, LG. Behave at the Belfry ;-) ;-) <3

LaGooner Report 3 Jun 2018 22:25

Nite nite <3. No belfry tomorrow as we have our society summer walk so belfry Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Morning all

A summer walk? How lovely LG. Will it be this evening so ‘the workers’ can attend or during the day?

Regarding the Errors. Someone has suggested that it might be caused by our & the Childhood Memories very long threads. They’ve floated the idea of starting new ones & either deleting the originals or allowing them to drop off page one. What’s do people think? Ideally the GR system should be robust enough to cope; its obviously not.

OH floated the idea of going out for the day. However, we didn’t discuss where or what time we’d leave. As it’s cloudy, & he’s still asleep, we’ll probably stay at home!

Morning DET, the walks replace 3 of our evening indoor meetings. I have just got back from my dentist check up A OK thank goodness.
I experience errors on very short threads too :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Jun 2018 11:03

Glad the dentist outing was relatively pain free, particularly in the pocket :-D

YG might be interested to know that I've actually cleared the ironing!!! I'm waiting until OH gets up before having a shower. If anyone is showering, no one is allowed to flush the loo or run a tap. That 'robs' the shower of hot or cold water which can be rather painful!

An additional suggestion re the error message is related to the number of posts a member had made. Once it gets to more than 10k, it takes additional time for the servers have to load those.

Wouldn't you think if the people who own GR and take our subscriptions would trouble themselves to correct the repeated ERROR messages ?

That's if they bother to look at their own site !

YG Report 4 Jun 2018 17:17

Evening everyone :-)

A very overcast but muggy day and an uncomfortable night last night. My eyelids are being held open with matchsticks after a 5 hour sleep and a full day's work :-(

DET, well done with the ironing :-D :-D You are a good girl ;-) ;-)
I know exactly what you mean about the shower!! I used to have one like that and would often forget that the other half was in there and go and fill the kettle. A few choice words could be heard coming from the bathroom :-D :-D :-D :-D

LG, what time are you going 'walkies'? Is it a long walk? Don't overdo it with the knee :-0

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Jun 2018 18:03

Oh, you poor thing, YG. It’s horrible when you can’t sleep but still have to get up for work :-0 <3
Open the windows now you’re home & have a good ‘blow through’. That might make it more comfortable.

OH got up so late, we stayed at home doing not a lot. Even I had an short nap until I woke myself up snoring :-D

David, as much as we’d agree with you, GR would probably say that they are platform for fh research rather then a social media site.

When I first joined they also owned Friends Reunited

YG

YG Report 4 Jun 2018 19:21

I used to be a member of Friends Reunited. I was sorry when GR got rid of it. I found one or two old friends on there from my youth :-D :-D :-D

DET, your OH slept well while you were busy with the ironing :-D :-D :-D Are you going to go out tomorrow instead. Have you had any thoughts about where you would like to go?

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Jun 2018 22:18

OH has suggested we go shopping tomorrow instead of Wednesday. If things work as planned, we're supposed to be having some fence panels replaced then.

Its was through Friendsreunited that my Ladies Wot Lunch friend realised we lived within a 10 min walk of each other :-D We've known each other since primary school but developed different interests & social circles at (the same) secondary school.

LaGooner Report 4 Jun 2018 22:51

Evening one and all, not long been back from a very interesting walk and talk at one of our very old cemeteries. I am weary from walking about 2 miles but not aching yet but we shall see how I feel in the morning ;-) :-D :-D :-D.
Have you snapped those matchsticks yet YG :-D. Nothing worse than not enough sleep and then a long day at work.

I have a small shop to do and will get my couple of bits tomorrow when I have got to go into town to pick something up for OH

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Jun 2018 09:14

Morning all

Have you managed to ease yourself out of bed yet, LG? That’s a long walk you did yesterday. You’ll really have ‘fun’ climbing those steps to the belfry today :-D

Maz, How has your overnight shift been? Were they pleased to see you back?

I wonder how Ann & family are getting on in Spain? They must be too busy to pop in. Perhaps they following the new trend & having an electronics detox ;-)

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 5 Jun 2018 09:20

Morning DET I was up at 7 as usual and not aching at all. I have started taking myself on walks whenever I can and trying to increase the distances.
Are you shopping today? I will be popping out soon but enjoying another coffee before going

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Jun 2018 09:51

Well done! We really should follow your example & walk more than we do.

I’m not sure if we’ll be shopping or not. It isn’t as if there’s anything urgent on the list. From my point of view, it could easily wait until Friday. I’ll just go with the flow!

LaGooner Report 5 Jun 2018 09:54

I find it the best exercise and my GP agrees :-D :-D :-D that makes a change ;-)
