Hi, just a quick word to keep in touch. Another hot day but a bit breezy. We are just back from a very nice meal at the Italian restaurant.mthen daughter and partner went to the Irish bar to see Rugby League and as that is the wrong sort of rugby for my OH we just went for a drink then came on back. They should be in soon, it is10.50pm here.

Hello Elizabeth lovely to see you again, have a very good weekend <3.

I am hoping the weather stays fine as I need OH to help me move a couple of heavy pots in the garden over the weekend.

YG Report 8 Jun 2018 21:52

Pleased that you are having a lovely relaxing time, Ann. Have a good night's sleep and you will be fully refreshed for another nice day ahead :-)

YG Report 8 Jun 2018 22:02

I have three lovely shrubs in pots that have just decided to start dropping all their leaves, so I need to investigate over the weekend. I hope it's lack of water and not ants nests, although they have survived for about 4 years now with the ants around.

The day has been pretty awful with one thing or another, so I am going to watch the news, then get into bed and read for a while to hopefully ease me into a good night's sleep.

Sleep well, LG
:-) <3

Morning all

Maz, I’m constantly amazed at the amount you do outside of work. Are you on Sanatogen or something? :-D Give it a few weeks & the chicks will have fledged. Can Frog help to cut the hedges?

YG, sorry you’ve had such a rough day. The family visit must have raised your spirits. Have you decided a spot for the water feature? Perhaps a good drink of water & a feed will perk up the potted shrubs.

Ann, it sounds as the earlier rain hasn’t dampened your holiday spirits. Are you planning on going out on trips?

~~~ Elizabeth. Good to see you.
LG, are you able to move freely after all your gardening?
Once OH has surfaced we’ll be continuing to put the house back in order. Those workmen vacced the stairs; they can come again :-D
YG Report 9 Jun 2018 10:34
Morning everyone :-)
DET, I have given the pots a good soaking this morning and I think they will survive. I hadn't taken much notice of how dry the garden has become, to be honest, so it's my own fault :-0
There is something going on at the park today and cars are everywhere. That has scuppered my plans to go and do the food shop early as I am at R & M's later for M's birthday. Still need to go out and buy gift wrap :-0 :-0 :-0
I'm not sure where I'm going to put the water feature yet. Luckily the back garden gets full sun all morning and until mid afternoon so plenty of opportunity for the small solar panel to recharge. I am quite looking forward to nice warm weekend day when I can sit in the garden and listen to it!! Not sure how may extra trips to the loo it may generate, but hey ho :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Your workmen were very good vacuuming after themselves. Perhaps because he knows you and went that extra mile!!
All the washing is out and I have stripped the bed and done a few basics, so not been idle since I got up. Just had a quick breakfast and will go and make the vacuum do some work here now :-D
Whatever you all decide to do today, enjoy the day. There isn't any sunshine here yet, but I think it may break through eventually
:-)
Morning all
DET cut hedges and gardening is swearing to froggy ,j have to be totally
Incapable before he will do that lol
I am sat in kfc having an ice cream as i am off out on a wander the retail park is walking distance from me
+++DetEcTive+++
+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Jun 2018 12:36
Don't spend too much, Maz & enjoy your ice cream. Its a shame Frog won't lend a hand in the garden. His technical expertise is only occasionally required where as gardening is on going.
YG - funny you should mention 'water works'. That possibility had also crossed my mind :-D
Yes, dry pots can creep up on you without notice. Just because it might have been cool, little or no rain with it is a deadly combination. I nearly lost 2 large potted plants because of that. There was the added factor of being sheltered by trees = no rain reached them.
OH has decided he wants to replace a curtain rod with wire. Although he's old enough to go to the village hardware shop by himself, he seem to want his hand held. :-S
David
David Report 9 Jun 2018 15:02
It will take him a while and a big impression to replace AW
Saw a fox in my garden this morning :-D :-D
+++DetEcTive+++
+++DetEcTive+++ Report 9 Jun 2018 17:52
David- remind Ellen to watch out for 'deposits' when she wanders into the garden. You never know where foxes may decide to 'mark' their territory :-0 :-D
Are you having fun in the garden LG? You must have run out of garden waste bags by now!!
All the curtains are back in place. We sat looking around and both decided the whole place needs decorating and a deep clean. We're on the same wave length, and decided to go out instead :-D
Nothing exciting, just research for a new washing machine - its over 20 years old and the internal washers/gaskets are being to go. The drum slowly fills with water even when its not on. I'm not going to constantly rummage under the kitchen sink to turn the stopcocks on & off!
Mazfromnorf Report 9 Jun 2018 18:00
Waves hello
I have had a relaxing day I am just catching up with washing and emails now ,
I have a pile of ironing to do also ,
Froggy made it quite clear that he did not do gardening and has stuck to it lol
our church laptop needs constant work it is really unreliable and hates updates which then upsets the files and we have to start again so ,I am going to find some tea soon but will potter here for awhile.
LaGooner Report 9 Jun 2018 18:11
I didn't go into the garden today after all we will do it tomorrow. We have bags supplied by the council which are reusable so I don't run out :-D :-D.
Hi Maz, my OH only does the garden if I have heavy work to do other than that he just watches
:-D :-D
