Morning DET devils work finished and hung up, bed stripped, remade and bedding on the line. Caffeinne refill and then out in the garden until lunch.

It was a quiet night thankfully I have had a cuppa and a bite to eat washing is in now I am going to attempt the grass as its gorgeous here today really warm .

Nice day here, OH at golf so I have been taking the opportunity of his absence to make his birthday card. It is not until next month but I never know when I will get the chance.

Hope you can persuade your OH to go somewhere nice soon Det. Any ideas where?

We have two days in Winchester next month and also, for OH's birthday a few days in Shropshire.

A few short breaks away sounds good, Ann. Far enough away to class it as somewhere different, but not too long a drive.

We had discussed York, but whether we'll actually go is another matter entirely. We've also 'threatened' to dump ourselves on our Cornish friends, or suggested they arrange to meet us somewhere half way. Winchester isn't a bad idea for that.

OH has been hankering about visiting Barcelona. If that one does come off it'll be after the middle of September. OH & his sister can't be out of the UK or driving distance to the parents at the same time.

LG - there's no reason now why you can't take a short holiday outside of the High Season. Its not as if you have to mind the mini's while Mum is at work.

Maz - glad you managed to have a peaceful night. Have the threats worked or has someone upped the medication??

Too much going on business wise for us at the moment to go away for the next couple of months. I am just having a break from the garden it is hot hot hot out there. :-D.

Ann I loved Winchester when we visited but that was ages ago. Might be due for a revisit soon, who knows

It is all nearly tidy out its very dry though I am not sure it will need cutting much it needs the Hose out but I am shattered so hopefully it will cope alright

I've a "cleaner" comes in for half an hour in the morning, Ellen's already done the jobs before she gets here.

I've a solicitor who will execute mine or Ellen's will and will also act as Power of Attorney, should the need arise.

I've also got the local cowboys in here most days. How do you trace cash :-(

DET, I didn't chance to fill anything. I had the water filter jug half full so was able to get enough from a very pathetic flow to fill that and the kettle, before it more or less dried up. Barcelona would be lovely depending when you go. I am looking for a weekend trip for my friend and I later in the year. She is away at the moment, so we might do a bit of searching when she gets back.

Maz, it's a good job you had a quiet shift last night and had a reasonable amount of sleep. You've been working hard in the garden again today!!

I have never been to Winchester. In fact, I haven't seen that much of the western part of the country, other than the Cotswolds and Cornwall.

I love Winchester its very pretty though it will have changed somewhat since I was there .i did love the walk by the river and cathedral .
david you sound as if you need more help and company if you are worried about the cowboys or cash the police do give advice as do the credit unions and CAB .
