No, I don't think I did, although it was quite an eye opener in my early teens, but no comparison with today's fiction ;-) ;-) ;-)

Too right YG :-D :-D :-D. They seemed really shocking in those days though :-D

YG Report 25 Jun 2018 22:04

Oh dear, that is making me feel old. It is so long ago :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 Nice to look back at my youth though and the things I got up to :-D :-D :-D

I am off for my shower now. The smart meter was showing 24degs in the kitchen half an hour ago. Another sticky night :-D :-D

Sleep well, LG. I'll be around tomorrow night :-) <3

Morning all - did everyone manage to sleep OK?

Its times like these when a sheet & blanket might be better than a duvet. It must be horrible to live in ground floor accommodation and not be able to open a window due to the security risk. I think I might insist on an air con unit if there was space to store it!

We were discussing our lack of spontaneity again yesterday. One reason we stopped working was to take advantage of the good weather. On that basis, we did say we'd go out today. But will it happen???

Keep cool everyone. The temps are supposed to be a bit lower today.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 26 Jun 2018 13:37

Temps certainly not lower her Det. I didn't sleep too badly, our window open and the bathroom one also which is across the landing from our room so the breeze blows through, duvet thrown back and just a sheet over me.

We needed a few bits prior to the weekly shop tomorrow so we went to Patisserie Valerie (realised Lattes are £2.90, getting really expensive to enjoy a coffee these days!. Then went to Sainsbury's for the bits we needed, topped up with fuel. Then to Dunelm and Homebase for more things. Dunelm had a sale on so pillows, pillow protectors, pillow cases, flannel and table mats bought. Then OH needed bits in Homebase which he found so that saved us a trip to the Ronge. Back home before 1pm.

Hot here now so need to find somewhere cool to sit.

Evening everyone :-)

A reasonable night, followed by an 'okish' day at work, at least it was a reasonably comfortable temperature with the fan blowing on me :-D :-D

Mrs Grouch hasn't put in another appearance yet. Time we woke her up :-D :-D :-D

DET, a day of doing nothing in this heat sounds alright to me :-) :-) :-) Isn't it shopping day tomorrow or will the heat put you off?

Ann, a good morning's work with the shopping, You certainly get out and about!! Did you find a cool spot to sit in this afternoon?

Hi Maz, pleased you are enjoying the weather. Have you managed to fit in any relaxation this afternoon?

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Jun 2018 17:15

Ann, you have been busy today. Looking at this mornings TV weather, I think your part of the UK was getting our heat from yesterday. Although it’s been warm, there’s a breeze which made it more bearable.

We took advantage of the Gardeners World bogof offer & went to Leeds Castle in Kent. Those places charge such a lot for entry but say it covers multiple visits over 12 months. Unless you live locally, you’re unlikely to return. Had a good afternoon even if I did have a funny turn & had to rest with my head lowered. :-0

Shopping day has been delayed this week as tomorrow as we’re visiting the inlaws. We’re looking after A for a few hours Thurs morning while J has a medical appointment.

Make the most of the good weather; we don’t know how long it’ll last!

hi yg
I had some down time this afternoon and relaxed its so still out here those who are normally out are missing so I know its warm .

YG

YG Report 26 Jun 2018 18:00

DET, that sounds like a touch of blood pressure> Perhaps the heat got to you, even though you do have a breeze. If it happens again, I would get it checked out. That's how I started.

Maz, it's hot here. Showing 26degs in the kitchen at the moment, without cooking and the blind has been half closed all day. Not a good omen for tonight's sleep, so the fan may well be on!! I have left the curtains closed in the bedroom all day, but because I can't open the big windows, I don't really get any air in from the small one and the blackout linings in the curtains prevent it anyway.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Jun 2018 18:06

We did think it might be worth getting a GP appointment although it doesn’t feel ‘urgent’. It’s happened a couple of times over recent years, but normally when I’m hot. Strangely although we discussed swollen ankles during the May heatwave, mine have been fine this time around!

As your kitchen is so hot, will it be salad tonight??

YG

YG Report 26 Jun 2018 18:15

No, regrettably not salad! I don't know why I say regrettably, because I am not a fan and have to eat something tasty with it to get it down :-D :-D

I struggle a bit as I can't get out at lunchtime now, for fear of losing my parking space, so don't get to the supermarket near work. I was too hot and bothered on the way home to call locally, so it is fish fingers, chips and peas tonight :-) :-)

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Jun 2018 18:19

Sounds good! Not sure what we’re having. OH has been at his rather strong home brew :-0

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 26 Jun 2018 18:46

Evening all, mighty hot again. I have the same complaint in the heat DET I always get a funny tum. We have just had a cold beef salad and later I have a punnet of strawberries to devour. OH will have cream with his and I will have fat free yoghurt.

YG

YG Report 26 Jun 2018 18:48

Not good if he is on cooking duty tonight, DET :-) :-) :-) :-) I hope you enjoy whatever is served on the plate ;-) ;-) ;-)

YG

YG Report 26 Jun 2018 19:22

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 26 Jun 2018 19:26

YG

YG Report 26 Jun 2018 19:42

Oooh 'eck, I sent Sweet Pea out on the old broomstick last week after the havoc that I had with the water :-0 :-0
