I think our House of Fraser is closing as well, Maz. That used to be Binns previously and years ago it was a lovely shop. I had all the curtains made there when I moved into my first marital home :-( Where the BHS store used to be in the Mall is now going to be a site for the young ones to go trampolining :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Maz if there is a water shortage we won’t water the lawn, it will soon recover. We water plants as they cost us money.

Just been sitting out in the garden with a drink, lovely out there now. :-)

hi Ann
Thankfully we wont get a hose pipe ban due to kielder ,My front grass is the worst so I have just majored on that tonite ,my back one will need cutting tomorrow too so we will see how the others manage .
YG Binns is busy which why i do not understand why it has to go it will be a huge void in town as its a huge building .
M&S are opening a food hall on the way into town which is a shame as a lot of elderly folk use the town for food as well as clothes because its by a bus stop .
The one in Bishop closed years ago and moved out of town as a foodhall only now .which is too far away from a bus stop for them.

Evening all, it is much cooler now so we sat outside for a while eating strawberries and ice cream for OH and sorbet for me.
I try not to water anything but my most precious plants the rest take their chances.

Evening LG :-)

I have just been out with one watering can full to save a coupe of favourites. I am using dish water for the pots. I daren't put the hosepipe on so will have to make do :-(

It is cool out there now, but the breeze has gone unfortunately, otherwise I could have had a nice draught blowing in the bedroom windows.

Its been a lovely day here however its to climb tomorrow again ,so after church it will be scorching .
My garden does have a fair ammount of shade so will hide out.

LaGooner Report 30 Jun 2018 20:53

I have not watered yet it is still too warm out there. I really need to be getting on in the garden but it is just too hot.

YG

YG Report 30 Jun 2018 20:54

My grass is totally parched, apart from an odd tuft here and there. R's is not good either and he has been putting the sprinkler on every night, but it's not having much effect.

It is going to be another hot one tomorrow, but if the breeze starts again, it will be more refreshing :-)

We are so fortunate here
I have only heard of one ban so far for ireland.
i reports a potential leak the other day we had a huge puddle of water it was a hydrant i think .all the birds were enjoying it .treating it like a pond .

YG

LaGooner Report 30 Jun 2018 21:56

Well on your own head be it. If you mess about with it you will be at risk of hurting yourself as it is booby trapped :-D :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 30 Jun 2018 22:05

I don't mess about, I devise a tactical plan after a full investigation. I am busy with a prototype now that will overcome any booby traps and am sending it to the hideaway ready for trials :-P :-P :-P :-D :-D :-D :-D
