Good morning. Bit of a drama here yesterday. One of the cats brought a spuggie in while Ellen had company :-0 It was fluttering in the kitchen dining room. Ellen was
shrieking, one of her guests looked like she was going to throw up, the other looked
faint. So, I got on my feet, in my drawers, dispatched the bird (which was never going
to fly again, in the bin, washed my hands, back to my pit.

Morning all

David, you’ve still got your uses then. Are you sure they weren’t screaming at the sight of you in your undies? ;-) :-D Poor sparrow. It must have got confused with the open windows.

Shopping day again. As PC is popping round at lunchtime, we’ll probably go this afternoon.

The bird was brought by one of Ellen's cats. Ellen's guests didn't see anything they
hadn't seen before.
Undies ? I call them Y fronts :-D <3

Evening everyone :-)

DET, have you managed to get the shopping done? It's been another warm day, so a cooling walk around the fresh food section would have been rather pleasant ;-) ;-)

Where are you all hiding?? :-D :-D :-D

Evening YG.
Yes, we did get our shopping, but could have done with a jumper around the chiller section! We'll be going out later for an evening meal, so no cooking tonight.

YG

YG Report 4 Jul 2018 17:33

YG Report 4 Jul 2018 17:43

I'm not sure what I am having tonight. Probably a lemon sole fillet with some chips, peas and parsley sauce! At least it will be home cooked for a change :-D :-D I'm not a huge fish lover, unless it is a fresh piece straight from the fish market, but I rarely manage to get there, so am trying an M&S frozen fillet :-0

I recently had a spot of bother with my bank and sorted it, at length over the telephone.

What I don't like about this is their inattentiveness and asking you to repeat A/c

numbers makes me vexed. Sometimes say while in yet another robot queue that

ther's even queues at the Crematorium, suddenly there's a human on the line.

After repeating my problem more than once plus A/c numbers I I got transferred to

another employee offshore (India) so I have to say it all again. The result was they

were wrong, I was right. Not only will I not get that bill again, I should look forward

to a refund. Success. But all this repeating details annoys me because anyone

wearing ears in the immediate vicinity hears what ought to be private :-|

YG Report 4 Jul 2018 19:30

David, my telephone banking is in the UK. I don't have a problem with it, just give the required security code numbers, account no and answer yes or no to direct to the right service and I am through to a customer service advisor who already has my account details in front of him/her.

I wouldn't phone the bank and give that information if anyone is within earshot.

Evening LG :-) I have just eaten it all. It was ok 'ish' :-) There are no crumbs left on the plate to send to you :-(

I firmly believe and have said many times that all required numbers, sort codes account numbers etc ought to be entered via the telephone key pad. I use use Barclaycard but Barclaycard are offshore (India).
So I have to go through all the palaver at least twice, usually more.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Jul 2018 09:22

Morning all

Some homes are naturally warmer than others. Perhaps yours is one of them, LG? The current predictions are that the warm weather will last until the end of July, breaking just in time for Maz’ trip down south ;-)
Apparently the inlaws are finding it difficult to cope. No doubt they haven’t increased their fluid intake, nor opened enough windows to get a blow-through.

You must be pleased to have your privacy back, Maz. Are they new blinds or the original ones cleaned?

The meal out was good. It was Pie Night at the local pub. They were really busy for midweek. We were warned of a 30 minute wait for food when we arrived. It wasn’t worth up sticking & going somewhere else as the delay would have worked out the same.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 5 Jul 2018 09:30

morning just cleaned blinds and curtains the privacy is something I enjoy the locals all use the front garden to sit out
even dining tables out the front in the summer ,i do prefer to use the back garden more .I need more blinds for other windows as it keeps the sun out helping to keep the rooms cooler .

LaGooner Report 5 Jul 2018 10:15

Our house is really well insulated DET and even with curtains shut, fan on full chat and windows open when it is not full heat of day we still cook. :-D.

I best go and get on with odd bits before the sun gets full on the lounge so catch you all later <3
