Well, it was very hot in their flat & they only had a bedroom window slightly opened. They do own a floor standing fan, but can’t remember what they did with the base. We’ve had a look, with no success. They don’t want to buy a new one, assuming any are available, but want to continue with the fan section propped up on cushions

She’s lost the cheque book we delivered a few weeks ago, but recognises they must have ‘put it somewhere safe’. It’s always possible FiL has moved it.
She’d scribbled through a hospital appointment note on the calendar as she can’t find any relating letter. The hospital, very kindly, are sending out a new one & confirmed the original booking.

lots achieved today Laptop is fixed until next update ,
Blinds are up but i intend to buy more for the other bedrooms to help with the heat in the morning .It has been overcast here at one point it started to rain a very small bit but nothing else .it went very dark but has cleared again
also the new router is installed and so far better so we will see how it goes

Pleased that you’ve had your LT & internet connection fixed. It must be relief with all the church admin you do.

You must be disappointed that your grass didn’t have much of a drink. Was it enough to settle the dust? We drove through a light shower on the way home, just a couple of dozen large blobs on the windscreen. Apparently we’re under a yellow warning for thunderstorms which may, or may not, occur until early evening. It’s certainly humid enough!

It is hot and humid here, but overcast. The sky looked rather threatening for a while and I was hoping for a downpour, but not a single drop.

If the weather is going to break at the end of July, that just about sums it up for my holidays They did say there would be several heat waves including late July into August, but hey ho, if they have changed their minds, so be it

Evening YG - saw on the regional news that the few blobs on our windscreen turned into flash flooding where the inlaws live. Although they live at the top of the hill, the town itself is in a 'bowl'. Water runs down hill!

A good shower of rain would certainly make it feel fresher.

They did say areas in the south would have rain.. The sun is out again here and a very pleasant evening now. I always get a lovely breeze through the kitchen and lounge windows, but never in the bedroom. The fan is there just in case for tonight

More problems with your inlaws and their banking lives Are they safe propping the fan on the cushions? That is a bit of a worry, particularly if they have it set to oscillate

OH says the fan is safe enough because the rotating section is surrounded by a guard. Personally, I'd be happier if they replaced it.

Eventually we'll ask for a new cheque book to be sent. She volunteered that things keep going missing. As she doesn't like me poking around in her personal papers, it'll be up to SiL if she wants to have a search.
Whilst looking for the missing stand, I came across a paper bag stuffed at the back of a shelf. On a brief inspection it seemed to be full of paper work. Despite being provided with new folders - the old ones where falling apart - she doesn't use them. Sigh.

There's not a lot that you can do then, DET. No wonder you are sighing I think I would be tearing my hair out by now

My aunt says they have had a bit of rain but not a lot
We had a very dark patch at lunchtime dark enough for the outside lights to switch on .
I am on an early start in the morning so hoping it will be cooler .
Auntie gave me some homework tonight which added another twig to put on and research lol lol she is getting her knee done in September so may go down and help out then as she keeps an eye on mum .

Mum uses any available spot to hide paper work it will all be to sort in august I will rummage about while she is distracted .
Fans are dangerous they create so many fires because they heat up and can catch alight .

I always keep mine altogether in a filing cabinet
