Good morning everyone. I slept like the dead last night. Gets you like that sometimes.
Didn't close the window behind me. Must have fallen asleep reading Kindle ?
Ellen's better, I thank you for your concern. Received a letter from a firm of house buyers yesterday wanting to buy mine. As yet we haven't made an offer on any where else. Not good, everyone else is on the move while there is a discernible lack of
control here. Getting a plumber in today to rectify some saboteur's bodge and a
Solicitor is coming to see me on Thursday. I used to be in charge around here :-P

Morning all

So the house move is more than just talk? I’d be suspicious if the cowboy has suggested it. Those house buyer companies rarely give market values, so beware. As long as your name is on the Deeds, you can block any sale. Is that what you plan to check with your solicitor?

Busy day for us today. Quick visit (!!??) to the inlaws, a historic building then collect A from Nursery. We’ll have to entertain her for a while until BM gets home.
Despite it being cooler outside, the bedroom was still warm & stuffy. Neither of us got much sleep. Not a good combination when we had to get up earlier than usual. :-(

Have a good day.

Hopalong Cassidy is in here every night. I've known some pricks but he's a cactus.

David, time to take back control then, or at least half control, good that you are seeing your solicitor. Yes be wary of anyone 'offering' to buy your house, especially if not on the market.

Have a good day everyone, we are off to Hidcote gardens today with U3A group. :-) :-)

Afternoons all just chilling out here i am contemplating doing some work in the garden ..the rain has flattened alot of my plants .

AnninGlos Report 17 Jul 2018 15:52

Just back from a good trip out to Hidcote gardens (NT). We had some sun but also a lot of cloud but until after lunch it was still warm. After lunch it became cardigan weather as a cool wind blew up. The gardens still had a lot to see even though they were obviously, like the rest of us, suffering from a lack of rain, Their sweet peas were doing well as was most of their veg, so I assume that area is watered by hose. Their grass was the same as ours, parched and going brown but their red borders seemed to have survived well. We had lunch in their restaurant, sitting outside, there were 11 of us in our group but we split up around different tables for lunch. I had a very nice asparagus quiche, salad and new potatoes, T had Vegetable and coconut curry with a chunk of bread. On the way home there were a few spots of rain but it came to nothing. :-)

Evening everyone :-)

We had rain last night and I missed it :-D :-D It obviously rained during the evening, but as I sit with my back to the window and the lounge is recessed from the external wall, I didn't notice until I went into the bedroom to draw the curtains and saw that the road was we through. A lot more is needed and it looked a bit threatening a while ago but has now passed over without a drop :-( :-( The grass at the front is quite crunchy to walk on.

Ann, another nice lunch out and an interesting walk round the gardens More exercise!! you would wear a pedometer and see how much you when you are out and about!!

DET, I hope the visit to the in-laws went well, Have they got the hang of using the new fan with the instruction sheet :-( I bet you have enjoyed having A again. Is grandad still her favourite or are you gaining favour :-D ;-)

Maz, have you managed to get some gardening done this afternoon. I hope you are planning in some relaxation as well :-)

David, if you are intent on moving, then put the house up for sale with an estate agent. Don't even consider companies that offer to buy your house, unless you are part exchanging on a new build with the builders.
