Morning all

YG, who knows if they’ll remember how the new fan works? Time will tell. MiL certainly liked the look of it, and the breeze it created. The current tussle we’re having is persuading them to have respite care while SiL is away. She’s concerned that it would take us at least an hour to get to them in an emergency. That would include getting dressed etc.
She’s taken them to visit a hotel cum home cum respite care place she’s found. They seem to like it. FiL has overcome his concerns over the cost. Now MiL is dithering. They have up to mid August to cancel without losing loads of money.

We went onto Penshurst Place & used our 2 for 1 garden voucher. It was a funny day weatherwise. Cardigans on, cardigans off, those clouds look threatening!

A was very excited to see us when we collected her. She’s more equal about which grandparent is honoured to play with her. ;-) Unfortunately she’s now entered the ‘Why?’ stage. Arghh!

Ann, pleased to hear you also enjoyed your day out. I’d agree that the gardens are suffering from lack of water. I was annoyed to read that eg Bowling Greens would be exempt from hosepipe bans while fish pond owners shouldn’t use one to top up theirs.

Have a good shift at work, Maz. Are you all set for your weekend visitors?

Afternoon all, cloudy but very warm here. I was thinking about going into the garden but can't summon up the enthusiasm :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon LG. You are allowed an afternoon off, you know ;-) :-D

Have you seen the new neighbours or heard when they’ll be moving in? Exciting times ahead for you, once the banging & crashing stops.

Popped into ours with something from shopping she asked us to get, and came away with a pile of charity begging letters to shred. She feels so guilty that she can’t afford to, but still the letters come. :-(

LaGooner Report 18 Jul 2018 15:54

We won't know who the new neighbours will be until they actually move in. There is a lot of repairs to be done so it won't be that soon. They are working in there today but it's a lot quieter so a bit of relief for us :-D :-D :-D :-D

Evening everyone :-)

DET, it;s good that your in-laws have agreed to book for their respite care while your s.i.l. is away. An hour's journey for you, in an emergency, would prove very stressful and could be dangerous. I hope they stick to the plan and don't decide to cancel at the last minute.

Oh, the lovely 'why' stage. I remember it well!! After every sentence spoken, 'why'?? :-D :-D :-D :-D She is obviously curious and wanting to learn so good for her, but will be tedious for you both at times :-D :-D

LG, if you have felt like having a lazy day, then so be it :-) :-) :-) :-) Why not? You are your own keeper and can please yourself as long as your conscience lets you and it's about time you did have one :-) :-) :-)

AnninGlos Report 18 Jul 2018 17:33

Hi all, Yes Det the rules about water are confusing, goodness knows why bowling greens get special treatment. I can't see fish pond owners letting their fish die so they will still top up I am sure. It would have been more to the point if all the utility firms had spent money to prevent leaking pipes etc instead of lining their shareholders pockets.

Hope the in laws stick to the plan for respite, if it looked like a swish hotel maybe they will enjoy it.

LG a day off occasionally doesn't hurt, the weeds etc will still be there tomorrow.

I suppose if children didn't go through the why stage they wouldn't learn anything. good to have an enquiring mind but very tiring for the adults! :-) :-)

Evening all, a rarity for me to have an easy day I hope I'm not coming down with anything :-0.

YG

YG Report 18 Jul 2018 18:50

Evening LG and David :-)

We have just had half a dozen spots from a cloud passing over :-0 Plenty more rain clouds, but nothing has materialised :-(

LG, I have just downed egg and chips and they were quite tasty :-)

Feet up now and an early night for me as I had a shocker last night, whittling about a .gov.uk audit that I have to complete, need help and am not getting any. It has to be returned by 30th, but as I finish on 27th to start my leave, it will have to be completed by then. I think I managed about 3 hours sleep from 3.30 till 6am and I am like a zombie. Watch out in the dark, I might by lurking :-0
