Morning folks
Have been contacted by a stapley website who have connected My stapleys into their trees and go back to the 1300s so I am overwhelmed with all the stuff so I am looking through for my direct line .Quite exciting .

Ooooh I wish someone would contact me with, hold on I'll get my list, yes all of this lot, and have them in their tree.

Lucky Maz, well done, that's all you need, plenty of tree work to keep you away from the H*******k.

I must blush modestly and say my audit was OK. Pretty good OK actually which tells me I might as well work for another year. The brain seems to be holding up to the challenges. The rest of the body is a bit worn, but the grey matter is still functioning.

Congratulations Aunty! Another year under your belt. You may now retrieve the bar of chocolate you hid in your desk drawer - lol

Well done to Maz as well - hope the records confirm the heritage. They must have a 'gateway' person to get that far! One of my contacts says that we are apparently related to Richard Plantagenet, but that was from someone else's research and he doesn't have the details. I can only get it to an assumed birth of about 1760, then there are at least 2 options on the internet + possible others which aren't.

Enjoy your leisure time LG, and make sure you are stocked up with nibbles for your guest and TV marathon tomorrow.

We had unexpected visitors yesterday afternoon - Eldest &co dropped by on their way back to Norfolk. They also have found a rental property 10 mins drive from &co's new place of employment and wanted to check what 'stuff' of theirs we may have in the loft. When they went to the US, they had to dispose of all electrical equipment, some of which was given to PC. But then when she moved back home, and a lot was dispersed amongst her friends. But we still had the food processor and attachments which Eldest really wanted to reclaim. They'll be moving by the end of May.

Oh heck DET moving must be in the air LOL. Leisure time what's that ???? No I will not be watching the wedding tomorrow albeit I do wish them well and hope they are happy but hey they are not family to me so I am not at all interested. I will be carrying on life as usual as we have loads to do with this move and everything else going on at the mo.

Morning LG - I suspect this Wedding Fever is a bit like the Football World Cup - because the media is full of it, people think they ought to be all excited and glued to the TV! My feelings are similar to yours, although we will probably tune it about 11 to look at the dress - even if we don't, highlights will probably be shown for the next 10 days lol. For the bride's sake and all the outdoor events, I hope it doesn't rain.

But for those who wish to make an 'event' of it (like YG), go for it!

AuntySherlock Report 28 Apr 2011 11:52

Isn't it funny how we all are hanging out for a look at the dress. I will probably watch bits and pieces of the whole shebang but because it doesn't start until 3.30 our time it will be very dark by the time it finishes.

I've been entering data onto the family tree. Sometimes I feel like just copying the stuff from another tree. I never do you know. Completely nuts I am, enter it all step by step and then find the source citations to go with it. Funny how you can pick up little inaccuracies this way, but then 'twould be mucher easier to do it t'other way. Moan, moan, whinge, whinge.

If you want selective viewing, the timetable of events is here

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/04/24/prince-william-and-kate-middleton-royal-wedding-timetable-115875-23084034/

The bride leaves her hotel at 1050, service starts at 1100 and finishes 1210

Add on your time difference, and you'll be there!

Ought to go and do something constructive. Mind you, OH has only just appeared! (1204 BST)

hello its warm again here ,have been busy just having a quick break

YG Report 28 Apr 2011 20:28

Evening one and all.

Thought I was in for an easy day today, but it seems I can't sit still!! Did the weekend shopping, took the car to the car wash, vacuumed it out when I got home and had a pedicure!! Oh, and went to the dumpit site with a couple of bits out of the shed!

I won't be sitting glued to the tv from 6am, but will watch the main part. I suppose I am a bit of a royalist, although I am not keen on some!! I just think William and Kate are a breath of fresh air and I am a sucker for a wedding!

My friend is coming and she has just returned today from a week's cruise, so there will be plenty to chat about, and doubtless she will be off to catch up with her washing come 1.30pm!

Morning all, where are you all, have you gone to the wedding?

I haven't read the thread yet but I'll catch up later........... just been a bit busy the last few days.

It's a bit cold here today, hope it's better in the south for the wedding.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 Apr 2011 08:41

Morning Pauline - its rather overcast darn suff. Hope the rain does hold off!

The TV is ridiculous at the moment; the major UK news channels have wall to wall wedding coverage...........I've turned it off! For all I know, the rest of world could have come to an end. I mean, who really wants to sit glued to it watching people waiting in the streets? Suppose the Channels are hoping early viewers will stick to their channel instead of an opposition one. Bah Humbug!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 29 Apr 2011 13:13

Hi All, We had the same saturation coverage. However, I did watch it. Was consigned to the spare room while OH watched the news then I was allowed out to watch the big event.

Must say pomp and ceremony is one thing you Poms absolutely excel at. Everything at split second timing, no obvious hitches, and lots of happy smiling faces.

And the weather was kind as well.

And fascinators, ladies, lots and lots of fabulous fascinators. Did you notice them???

It's quite cold today and we've had rain as well.

I got sent to the bedroom to watch the wedding because I was the only one who wanted to see it. Didn't watch it all but saw the most important bits.

I think she's very beautiful and her dress was gorgeous.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 Apr 2011 15:31

I watched from 1045-1120 ie the arrival and vows. Turned it off and went to get OH up and to change. Lo and behold - he'd only gorn and turned it on again! We eventually got out about 1215. But like Maz says, the shops were still quiet.

She did look happy and the dress v becoming. Yep AS, we do do pomp and ceremony very well - we've had 1000 years practice - lol

Did you see the end bit when the crowd was allowed to walk down the road to Buckingham Palace. The police lined up across the road and just slowly walked towards the palace and the crowd followed behind cheering and waving their flags.

Now imagine trying to do something like that in certain other countries!!!
