If it's privately rented, the council can't evict which is a shame, but the threat of an ASBO might tone things down as a last resort.

The IT Guru says it sounds like the hard drive has failed. Worst case I've lost my data, best case he will be able to retrieve it.

Thank goodness for on line family history storage, at least that is safe.

Am typing this at work. Keep being interrupted by people wanting things, and asking questions. Jolly inconvenient if you ask me.

IT Guru says he should be able to repair it by this afternoon. Then I will have to reload everything and set up virus scanner, and Outlook and IE and oh bother......

Sounds as if AS needs a brand new computer. You can only fix things for so long before they bite the dust. Hope you save important things on an external hardrive which are relatively cheap now days, and a memory stick thingy. That's what comes of having an OH with an engineering background - back up systems all over the place - lol

Does LG have personal experience of the ne'er do wells? It can seem that the wrong people get everything thrown into their lap. But to be honest, with so few jobs around, its difficult to criticise too harshly. Considerate behaviour cost nothing though. But is it nature or nurture? (I swing from a bleeding heart liberal to a paid up member of the hang 'em and flog 'em brigade - lol )

Spent all of yesterday up my tree - haven't done that for some time. And now my back is feeling 'delicate' suggesting the chair is to blame. May be next pay day we'll look for a new one.

Evening all. Well I didn't need to slash my wrists. Nothing wrong with my drive, or the computers for that matter. It seems it just wanted a little rest and one of the RAM chip thingies decided to go out in sympathy.

Bit of new memory and it now boots faster, loads faster and I am connected to the internet straight away without having to wriggle one piece of cable.

Know what you mean about "sitting in front of the screen" ailments, DET. Since I have changed my computer table my chair is just that too much lower and I don't have a shelf at the back of the computer desk on which to rest my feet. I am forever stretching my legs under the table trying to find it. Think I might find one of those foot rests. Old ladies need foot rests.

And Maz, do your noisy neighbours ever sleep. You should invite all the cyber pets over for a very noisy party about an hour after it is all quiet in that direction. Warn the other neighbours first. You might even be able to persuade the peeps on the other side to do the same. We have enough boakins to go round. I'm of the what goes round, comes round brigade!!!

Wonder if your suggestion would help Maz. She and A both get up early, so a bit of loud music, revving of vehicles etc? The problem comes if they decide to retaliate with some thing else.

Yes retaliation is alway tinged with risk. You could wind up with a "well why are they complaining about our noise, they are making just as much" head set. Which is normal for ferals and morons. Instead of the "gee their noise is disturbing us, no wonder they are complaining when we make noise", reaction, normal thinking people would have.

Well the loo is complete again back to normal there ,Grass has been cut ,washing is out on the line ,I have to make the back bedroom safe to put the cats tomorrow while the painter is here as the little one will be covered I am also going to start getting the wall paper off the walls too .
My neighbours sleep in the mornings hence i put the washer on and mow grass ,their kid screams and runs around until midnight .All the pets are welcome to play in the garden they have a trampoline .the boakins can slither everywhere lol

Maz mowing the lawn and washing clothes is definitely not enough noise to bother a feral. They probably do not understand what those noises mean anyway. Well, they might have seen it on the telly.

You need big time noises. Any chance of sticking one of your cats up a tree and then ringing the fire brigade to come and retrieve it. You would need to ask for a siren and flashing lights. Nope that won't work either. Probably well familiar with sirens and flashing lights.

Hmmmm!!!! Do you have your power meter boxes on the outside of your houses like we do. If so send one Gizmo over to switch the circuit breaker, or better still remove it. Oh dear that means they will be running around in the dark trying to fix the problem. And, will probably knock on your door to borrow your candles and your battery powered radio so they can continue to party. And the kids will start howling because they don't like the dark.

I'll have to think about this some more.
